  1. Ha! Unless you want a FamVan, you would be hard pressed to find anything other than a white Camry here in S. Fl...... Old people!
  2. Solution? As with many user systems, select "basic, competent, expert" or some such. We do it on the Hybrid driver screen.
  3. Absolutely agree: Software, Software, Software! My only problem with CR (and others), is when they equate the rating of the entire vehicle based on MFT.
  4. I guess (remember, I'm an old fart)! Actually, I'm not interested in new burns, but wanted to use older (heavy metal) disks already burned. I do burns on 32 G sticks, and plug the pod-- so I guess not so old!
  5. Agree, the Clarion supplied system was smooth, with top-rated NAV. I do miss the ability to burn MP3 DVD's, but will reserve judgement on the MFT. I think the new MFT may have more potential to be modified by software, so (hopefully) bugs may be worked out. Considering all the neg press Ford is getting, it is in their interest to make it happen.
  6. CR will never rate a a Ford with MFT as OK. I think it is just too geeky for a family car. I have personally loved MFT in my 2010 Fusion Hybrid, with no problems until the week I traded for a 2013 Fusion Hybrid ( it got even by frying an MP3 memory stick)! I use all functions on my 2013 Fusion Hybrid MFT: no problems, but too soon to judge long-term. I am old, but a nerdy geek, so MFT seems natural to me.
  7. ..........and (at least in Florida) the insurance companies need more money to cover the ever-increasing cost of lobbyists!

  9. They are moving fast: As you go through all the local dealer stock online (S. Fla Ford sites), almost all hybrids are "dealer ordered". Good perks for hybrids down here-- free beach parking, HOV lanes, etc.
  10. Got room in the padded cell? You guys have Forditis (DSM-IV category: Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Magic words from Cyberdman: Now less than 20 miles from home! In Transit - Received - 01E8 (Allied Systems Ltd ) Ramp 21, Miami, FL Apr-02-2013, 12:19 ET. ETA Apr-07-2013.
  11. Super thanks....... I know this service has to be a pain at times-- there is a special place reserved in this universe for unselfish people. My Fusion is now less than 20 miles from home! Will send pics of my 2nd FFH. Ed
  12. Wow, a thread that started out as a simple rant (OK, maybe a whine) has turned into an amusing set of: sarcasms, wit, philosophy, musings, and economic theory (running from the States to Australia-- M Econ, N H, Deanh, jpd80, and akirby)! Fun bunch of people!
  13. Of course they're sticking it to you: They get a tax break for giving it to me (advertising, charity, whatever), and I have to pay taxes on value as a gift (throwing me into a higher tax bracket). I end up covering both sets of taxes in the end. Keep the damn cars!
  14. Hi Cyberdman, I would appreciate a tracking of VIN (Built on 3/19/13): 3FA6P0LU6DR271564 Thanks for this great service to impatient future owners (even old ones)!
  15. Fusion sold and delivered or waiting for delivery? I know there have been major shortages of stock in my area (SoFla), with almost ALL Fusions listed as "dealer ordered". Yet there seems to be no shortage of people (including me) plunking down their dough and willing to wait. Could be a really good year for Ford!
  16. Sweet! Could a car like that work as a chick-magnet for an old guy like me?!!!
  17. It's the game of business. If the plan works, then it is a smart business move. It is up to the consumer to make the decision of value. We do it all the time in all parts of our lives. Right now I'm sitting in Starbucks, shooting the bull with the daily morning (old-guy) group-- drinking plain old java that is overpriced-- still worth it to ME!
  18. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to use CPU software (eg: Trips and Streets) to program maps, destinations, routes into vehicle.
  19. Ha! All part of the producer/consumer game we call commerce. The goal is to create a sense of value for the product, and hopefully leave the consumer satisfied with the “deal”. Lot’s of room for silliness in the process! I have really enjoyed being able to “build” my Fusion online, adding what I want, knowing the price, and working with the dealer (who I do trust) to a conclusion. If the value (a personal consideration) is there, then the price is right.
  20. Definitely ELR: Seen on the streets.
  21. You mean you didn't want to get a power ashtray and leather seats in order to get a trunk cargo net? Oh well, sometimes the great exec brains are saved by some smart engineering. We DO buy the package!
