  3. General motors insider iirc. It's a gm news site and forum, like ford authority.
  4. O I c...i.like both the pre and post refresh of the fusion, it's a shame ford let it go again. It was highly competitive and felt more than what it cost.
  5. What happened with the fusions? I don't remember any disasters with the fusions? The gms can completely revamp their suvs every 6 yrs because they make so much money on them. Also, they seldom do refreshes on them, so that's more money being dedicated to new r&d for replacement. The upcoming 2024s are the first time gm is doing a refresh on their fs suvs, which honestly is a kudos to ford (and jeep). Being honest, the 21s are the first time gm tried with their fs suvs, and they had a good base to start with. Iirc, they were supposed to drop in 2020, but the 18 fords were so good, the team had to beg management for more time and changes for it.
  6. I also noticed, the front end looks a lot more upright and blunt than the current model. However, it also looks like ford is keep the reflective style head lights instead or projectors. And if no projectors, seems like no adaptive head lights either.
  7. Yea if it's broke don't fix it is a true statement, but the customer base doesn't want that, they want a competitive vehicle. Case in point, the rear wiper. The wiper under the spoiler is a Toyota invention, but noone cared until the new GMs. After they came out, the customer base was been highly vocal about the 22 refresh not getting it. Now, the remodel is getting it. Nothing wrong with how the wiper was integrated and how it performed before, the base was upset a main competitor had something their beloved vehicle didn't. Now, the whispers of not having a heads up display and air suspension are becoming louder. Same for the digital rearview mirror. Like Jose stated, not just the nav, but every fs suv mainstream and luxury variant has it except the fords. For me, I like driving people around, and it being digital is def nice to have to prevent vision obscurity from peoples heads. My dads escalade has it and it has better night vision than a regular mirror as well. And of course, it helps when your cargo bay is filled with bags or furniture runs.
  8. Every vehicle in this class offers it, even the old ass armada, so why not add it. You were patting yourself on the back about offering it on a cargo van a couple of years ago, and saying your going to add it to your customer retail vehicles. Still waiting. And using it in other vehicles, I quite like the feature. It looks like it's getting the extra long one piece screen that stretches to the passenger side as well. I like how thick the steering wheel looks.
  9. If it looks nice, drives nice, gives things the people want, and priced competently, it'll sell more. Things I've noticed: -there's something shiny behind the 24in rear wheels that's not the brakes. Looks too shiny to be coils. -doesn't seem to have digital rearview mirror still. -bluecruise sensor is moved to the steering column and looks larger. -the max edition looks slightly longer than the current gen.
  10. The interior is the expy platinum interior, it may just for reference for packaging as they don't plan to change the Floorplan much.
  11. I have a feeling there will be a small battery option to keep processing down and a larger battery option for the lincoln equivalent and the take the ford pricing past 6 figures.
  12. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/rugged-ford-expedition-spied-could-be-the-off-road-ready-tremor-214939.html Looks like the max version will be getting the off road trim as well.
  13. https://www.carscoops.com/2023/05/ford-expedition-caught-testing-with-off-road-upgrades-hinting-at-upcoming-tremor-model/ Pics of the off road variant, whether it be the tremor or raptor trim.
  14. I can see why they left it alone. It's one of the safest vehicles on the market currently, so it maybe to help keep pillars a through c the same to keep its side crash test scores the same. I hope a lot of the r&d goes to better ride and handling performance.
  15. I actually think the frame needs to be reworked some. It maybe strong, but it allows too much flex compared to its competitors. The current trucks feel way to jiggly and shaky over some roads, this needs to change because it changes the perception of the vehicle, esp when getting into other vehicles afterward.
  16. The rear control arms look slightly different as well. They are bulkier and looks like the shocks are seated lower, like the gms rear control arms.
  17. For the aviator and navigator, your kinda stuck. The lesser adjusting seats are worse because they are less cushioned. It's just how you sit in them unfortunately. My nav is comfy, but if I sit in the seat wrong, my back and legs hurt, and I'm pretty youngish. My nav has the 24 way seats, I wish they added the upper air bladder to that seat, bo reason why something this big with this many adjustments has doesn't have 4 way lumbar. Also, why are the thigh support cushions not flat with the bottom cushion. One thing I would like to do is replace the cushion in my truck soon.
  18. Lincoln just revealed the 2024 nautilus, that will give us a good idea of what the interior and exterior will look like for the nav.
  19. Here's what I would like to see: - air suspension with ccd - heated third row seat - digital rearview mirror - auto rear wipers - better/plusher integrated cushions in front seats - 4 maybe 5 zone temperature control - augmented navigation display - front cooler What I can think of right now.
  20. I would go to the more popular ford expedition or lincoln navigator forums to get this info. This one doesn't get as much traffic, and those not only detail high mileage issues, but how some were fixed as well. Mainly for 18 and 19 nav, bulk of issues stem from cam phasers, and aging/unreliable electronics. More rare problems include transmission failures. I jus got me a high mileage 20 nav, and so far after 3k miles, outside of feeling the high mileage in build quality, has been pretty solid. As far as driving, no real issues except for the tranny shifting odd every once in a while. Only thing really that I notice is the connection of sync. It's slow and loses connection to things pretty easily, esp considering we have phone as a key and it is not very reliable.
  21. I'm going to be as honest as I can since my spouse and I were coming off something similar. What I'll do is detail our journey with how it started and how it ended...for now. Our journey started with a used 09 nav, after test driving an 10 expy el, we decided on the nav for its smoother ride and power delivery. We loved it, but I knew I wanted the 4th gen and ordered an expy ltd as soon as the order banks opened. I didnt spring for the platinum as I didnt think we'd need the extra features but we were able to test drive one and it was phenomenal. Wished I got it. But after taking delivery of the ltd and going through some first build growing pains, we loved it even more. After 2 yrs, we were sent to guam, and turned in the truck(leased). During that time, we tested gm and jeep fs trucks and even bought a Nissan armada, which we liked a lot. All that to say we have a good amount of experience in owning fs suvs. Now for the part your looking for. When we came back to the states, my wife and I decided if we were to get another fs suv, we want a ford. Gms were nice, but mushy brake and uncomfy seats threw that out, and jeeps are over priced and untested for now. Nissan freshening was less thorough than fords and terrible fe threw that out as well. Was looking for a 22 platinum expy, but none around. Was free and saw a 22 nav, and wife instantly fell in love with the comfort, ride and layout. After that, a platty became available, so we looked at it, and left a bit underwhelmed, I'll explain below. So, nav it was. After we couldnt find a 22 nav we wanted (no dealer would move on price, and standard trims were a dime a dozen), we saw a 20 reserve and wanted to see the difference btw it and the refreshed nav. Went to take a look, and ended up taking it home. All this to say, in my humble opinion, with your budget, if you can find a reserve my20 - 21 nav btw 35 and 60k miles I'd go that route. The expy is a great truck, but I will say that after owning my 18 and testing a 22, it just doesn't feel finished. This will especially feel prevalent on the 22s, as the material quality went down and hard plastic usage went up. The seats in our nav though not the 30 way, are supremely comfy. It's also quieter than an equivalent expy in all rows of seats. We tested a 22 expy king ranch and platty, both had ccd, no limited or xlt, however, our 18 didn't have ccd. I strongly recommend ccd, even on 22in wheels. Ccd is fords magnet ride adjustable dampers, and it rides markedly better than no ccd, albeit with some floatiness. The base springs ride a tad too firm for a passenger car in my opinion. The nav ccd rides even better than the expy ccd as well(not much, but noticeably). The sync 3, though slightly slow and archaic still works well and the pre refresh nav has a 10in screen rather than 8in on the expy, so its easier to read. Also, the 22 expy dropped the multi color ambient lighting for all trims. The new trucks sync 4 have a faster, smoother ui with wireless android auto/carplay. We didn't test the 12in screen on the expy, the 15in works well, but wasn't as easy to use as I'd like. The 22 nav and it's 13in screen and ui looks better, works much better and has better placed controls. The pre refresh expy is still the most user friendly of the bunch, but the nav brings the controls to a closer reach. The interior materials btw the pre and post refresh nav aren't much different. Except the piano black plastic scratches and aged leather smell, it still looks and feels newish. The platty expy is over 80k, but the Interior isn't much more posh than the ltd trim. Though, it seems like the nav is flashy, the look in person is actually svelte and refined. It doesn't scream expensive, but def earns respect. And the interior feels more cohesive and organic in design compared to both the pre/post refresh expy. I hope this lengthy post does a good job with aiding your decision. I was surprised to end up with what I have, and outside of its highest mileage a feature envy (would've rele liked heads up display, premium audio, 2nd row vented seats), we are supremely satisfied with our 20 nav. Though rwd, we got ours for 50k to include a 5 year warranty. I see my20 navs with 40k miles going for 60k in sc, less for more, more for less, with prices dropping. But that maybe different in your area. Good luck.
  22. I believe the cameras are different if you get the max tow pkg.
  23. Which is why I doubt there is one planned for 2024, I believe they are pushing it back to coincide with the f150 lightnING redesign which is slated for my25. It doesn't make since to do a full redesign only 2 yrs after a refresh, they usually do it after 3 yrs.
