  1. If the union is to be believed, Farley hasn’t been present through the vast majority of the negotiations.
  2. Think of it as the union is looking for a landing spot for if/when the engine and transmission plants are no longer needed.
  3. Maybe it’s just me being jaded from constantly seeing everything fall apart time and time again but I’m not planning on anything being available come the time I’m eligible to retire, if I’m ever even able to to begin with. Wouldn’t surprise me if I have to work until I’m in my 70s because retirement just isn’t an option.
  4. LMAO Nice striking a plant that hasn’t been able to sell what they build for the last 4 months. What an absolute joke. Edit: The more I think about it the more pissed I’m getting. This motherfucker keeps talking a big game but when the time comes to throw hands, he’s blowing bubbles instead of throwing haymakers. I’m starting to believe he’s dragging this out just to be an asshole. Either take what’s on the table to a vote and whatever happens, happens or go for the throat and end this shit already.
  5. Why would I leave my retirement income in the hands of a company (or in the case of social security, the government) when I can have a 401k and have much greater control over it? It the whole pension concept doesn’t make sense to me.
  6. I still don’t understand the fascination with a pension
  7. Bill Ford himself doesn’t even want the political cretins around https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2023/09/28/uaw-strike-bill-ford-gets-angry-at-politicians/70993400007/
  8. You’re not wrong, but I don’t want to hear what either of them have to say TBH because I can probably already guess
  9. Rumors are abound that the deal is done and we’re just waiting on an official announcement. Could come Friday during the next live-stream or it could come 2 minutes from now, assuming the rumor is even true to begin with.
  10. How many people do you know want either of them around? I don’t know anyone.
  11. Fain hasn’t publicly talked about it in at least 2 weeks
  12. The fact the media has latched onto this 32 hour week thing is absolutely hysterical. Shows what a joke they really are.
  13. I’ve yet to see a single person who actually wanted him to come and countless who were just there for the camera
  14. More affluent buyers have been the earliest adopters of EVs. For him to not have seen any in a more affluent area is odd to say the least.
  15. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re in a more affluent area too, right? That’s very telling if you are
  16. I’m not talking out of my ass either, I brought receipts. https://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/news/report-whitmers-allies-target-opponents-of-marshall-battery-plant?fbclid=IwAR0GCu2Pq36lQGfRA0uqF1355BZ99iLRIRtDl8x57zvjFFnQsZtGexo1lp0 I heard about this months ago but dismissed it because I figured it was yet another example of the powers that be forging ahead with something the everyday people don’t want because they can grift money off of the situation.
  17. It would certainly provide one hell of a distraction As far as Fain’s reaction is concerned, I would expect that from him no matter what else is going on.
  18. Yeah, it’s been making the rounds on Facebook. I’m not sure who that motor city crime report guy is but he seems pretty confident.
  19. I think you’re all wrong. There’s been allegations of the governor funneling dark money into the community to shove this project down everyone’s throat.
  20. Unifor deal passed. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2023/09/24/unifor-members-ratify-contract-with-ford/70953724007/
  21. That’s not terrible. It’s basically what’s on the table for us right now minus the pension part which I think is the hold up
