  1. LINCOLN PRESIDENT SAYS BRAND NOT CURRENTLY FOCUSED ON EVS It wasn’t terribly long ago that Ford – and many of its competitors – had grand all-electric ambitions, each planning to invest billions to expand their respective EV portfolios and erect new production facilities for those same vehicles and the batteries that power them. However, with demand waning as of late, Ford has cut back its planned electrification investments, though it continues to work on developing smaller, cheaper EVs, regardless. That also means that FoMoCo’s luxury arm – Lincoln – isn’t currently focused on EVs at all, as President Dianne Craig recently revealed in an interview with The Detroit News. “(We’re) listening to what customers really need. Navigator customers tend to tow more, so (battery power) doesn’t make as much sense,” Craig said. “We’re not going to make any grand declarations specific to where the brand is going with electrification until we really understand what our premium customers want. The time will come, for sure, but right now we are focused on the wonderful product lineup we have between the Corsair, Nautilus, and new Aviator. There is transition with any technology including electric vehicles. We’ll eventually come to that tipping point. But right now (from) everything we are learning from our customers, now is not the right time for us to be making those declarations about EVs.” As Ford Authority reported last April, Craig was quick to ditch the Lincoln EV timeline after taking over the reigns of the luxury brand, and also later revealed that its EV sales program – the equivalent of Ford’s Model e Certified program – is on indefinite hold. Earlier this week, a report indicated that the North American Ford Explorer EV was also being pushed back after it was expected to enter production next year, and this new revelation may mean that the same applies to the forthcoming Lincoln Aviator EV, too. https://fordauthority.com/2024/03/lincoln-president-says-brand-not-currently-focused-on-evs/
  2. If we continue like this, there will never be a 3 row EV 😅
  3. THREE ROW FORD EXPLORER EV LIKELY DELAYED AMID PIVOT: REPORT According to a new report from Bloomberg, the three-row Ford Explorer EV seems likely to be delayed as The Blue Oval continues to tweak its future electrified strategy. According to an unnamed source, “plans for an electric three-row SUV have been delayed,” which is notable because this is the first time we’ve heard that FoMoCo’s change of strategy could impact production of the long-rumored Ford Explorer EV for America. In fact, CEO Jim Farley has spoken at length about what this future model could look like, noting that it will have a large frunk, Pro Power Onboard, sleek styling, and 350 miles of range. It’s unclear if the Ford Explorer will in fact be delayed as a result of this strategy shift, but Farley has made it quite clear that developing cheap EVs is a “non-negotiable,” and also revealed that a skunkworks team has been working on such a project for two years now. https://fordauthority.com/2024/03/three-row-ford-explorer-ev-likely-delayed-amid-pivot-report/
  4. agree but I don't know, I doubt the plan is to debut both products so close to each other, I think the Expy and Aviator were a particular case
  5. LOW COST FORD EV ARRIVES IN LATE 2026 WITH $25K MSRP: REPORT According to an unnamed source, less than 100 people are currently working on this low-cost Ford EV project, which will utilize a brand new dedicated platform. However, that platform won’t just underpin one affordable EV – but rather, a compact SUV, a small pickup, and possibly even another model that could be used for ride-sharing purposes. The first of these new Ford EV models is slated to launch in late 2026 with a price tag of around $25,000. At first, these cheap EVs will reportedly utilize a lithium-iron phosphate battery due to the fact that this chemistry is around 30 percent cheaper than a lithium-ion unit, but Ford is reportedly looking at other types of battery tech in an effort to further reduce costs. https://fordauthority.com/2024/03/low-cost-ford-ev-arrives-in-late-2026-with-25k-msrp-report/
  6. agree 100% It would be nice but as other member has said, it is the first time that Lincoln is not attending NYIAS. Recently they always had something to share, but the auto show is next week, they could've just waited for next week to do the embargo on the Nautilus because at the event Lincoln had all the vehicles.
  7. yeah, Lincoln is not even attending the event. I was hoping for the 2025 Navi too but the Aviator has debuted not long ago and also the Nautilus reviews are out so so I guess Lincoln is going to wait a bit to show something new. I really want to see the new Expy and how they plan to differentiate the interior using the same layout on both brands
  8. The expy could debut at NY, I see that Ford is on the media schedule

  10. I understand but, shouldn’t they also be prioritizing resources for EVs for China? I mean there are a lot of new EVs and luxury EVs brands there.
  11. agree, I don't understand why make two different versions. Also I wonder if the plan is to change the interior, they have already done it with the Corsair
  12. I agree that the F150 interior on the Expo wasn't a good idea but I thought that the plan was to give the Expy the Chinese Explorer (and other models) interior as you say.
  13. yeah we can wait and I know the interior is covered but so far it seems to have the same interior design. If that's the case, why have two interior design teams? I don't say they should sandbag the Expedition, just maintain son differences between the brands, specially if the plan for the last few years was to make Lincolns different. Again, check what GM is doing with the their SUVs between Caddy and Chevy Additional tech is a must, the current Navi is already behind in some stuffs as AR Nav, Night vision, etc, and I expect no less than that.
  14. Ford has to understand that Lincoln is not Ford Vignale or Ford Platinum+, specially at the top of their lineup (Navigator). But I guess at this point is a reality, let’s hope they find a way to differentiate both interiors
  15. Agree but at this point I think the design is also important not only materials, etc. The new interior is the highlights on the current reviews so why throw away all this momentum. Also, the QX80 and Escalade are Navigator competitors. The new Tahoe and Suburban don't have it, and I don't think the Yukon will (I suspect it will have the Sierra EV interior).
  16. Yeah a radical departure although I have to say I don’t think it is a good idea to give. Ford product the same interior design as the new Lincoln. the first time in a long time we don’t see Ford mentioned in a Lincoln vehicle review and the plan is to take away the differentiation?
  17. 2025 FORD EXPEDITION INTERIOR SPOTTED https://fordauthority.com/2024/03/2025-ford-expedition-interior-spotted-for-first-time-photos/
  18. Me too, but at the end a new model could help to achieve the goal to surpass 100k
  19. Agree. I wonder if there is a possibility to see the Zephyr hybrid in the US
  20. sooo what's the plan? keep postponing the 3-rows or finally a debut. I have to admit that it is unbelievable that a couple years ago the plan was to have a lot of EVs. In this time Ford haven't figure it out yet? Maybe it is my ignorance about the NA market but I keep reading about Tesla selling a ton o vehicles (also here in EU) but why it is so hard for the other automakers?
  21. on march 6 Lincoln will launch a Corsair Hybrid and a Zephyr Hybrid. The Corsair gets a 1.5l hybrid and the Zephyr gets the 2.0l hybrid.
