  1. I would have no issue pay resonable amount for a FORD created and supported upgrade kit. After paying almost $70k for truck not counting things I have added. I assume I will be keeping this truck for many years.
  2. Point made - but being a software engineering back porting would be lot of work and would not be done unless there was large demand for the software update. Personally OK with MFT works OK for me. But the new screen layout of the Sync 3 fixes the issue being able to find and hit buttons even when stopped (and of course we all stop to change settings )
  3. Yea I say a link - One year gurantee and as you say no updates. Hoping Ford was going to do someing offical.
  4. I am interested in finding out if (assuming its not over the top expensive) in updating my NAV system from MFT to the new Sync 3. I assume this will requre a hardware change. The question is will the new hardware fit my 2015 F350 Super Duty. Given that I am a tech nerd I like having the leatest hardware. Currently my trunk is confirmed with, scanner, ham radio and CB...
  5. Appears there is a LOT of miss information on how, when and how much coolant additive to add when and if the test strips report that you need to add additive My F350 has 49k miles and has passed each strip test. BUT when I asked my dealer they said the DO NOT test they just add the coolant additive. They sold me Specialty Orage Engine Coolant Revitalizer. #1 How much Revitalizer should you add when needed (have a 1 qt seems like that would be too much) #2 Given how important makeing sure your coolent is OK - is it advisable to just have the coolant flushed every 50k are so. #3 Quetion #2 goes to my concern have how reliable the test strips are NOTE: That love my F350 only issue I have had in 2 years is the driver side pull handle was lose - bolts stripped and I had to replace handle. Took it to the dealer to fix but the blow me off and I had to pay for parts out of pocket (this was before standard warantee was up)
  6. 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839 please update build date
  7. Dude not only heard of Google but work with them as engineer at eBay. I did not think to use dual in search for dolly Thanks
  8. Please recheck build date got email from dealyer saying not scheduled till mid June, but I was finally able to downlaod the Window Sticker on Friday THanks
  9. Thanks Will you be able to help with shipping schedule one the truck is built
  10. I normally jack the truck up just enough to clear the wheels Tires are heavy enough that #1 pulling the first wheel Ok, but second wheel drags on the studs since its hard to handle at ground level (that is to say standing I can lift the tire but not so easy at ground level) #2 Putting tire back on is the big issue getting it line up with the studs and lifting & truning is hard. Second tire more fun since you do not have extra bolt lenght as you do with first one I looking for a reasnable cost power tool to left / hold the tire so I can get the bolts lined up
  11. I was told that build date for my truck will be 5/5 VIN 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839 I have not yet been able to download a window sticker and have not otherwise been able to verify the build date More fun question is it possible to get pictures of the truck being built. I have never custom ordered a truck before and would be very cool to have few pictures of my truck being buillt GO FORD and thanks
  12. I was told my parts guy at my Ford dealyer that on the Disel better to change time to change oil etc my time the engine is running not by miles I tried to use the run timer in the center console of my 2008 SD but it resets unexpectly any thoughts to why
  13. #1 Like to see a side step so if the tail gate is not accessable then I can still get into the bed of the truck or reach something in the tool box #2 Factory optionto add better backup lights.. #3 Option to move the backup camarea to the rear of the cab to help when hocking up 5th weel
  14. Wondering how others deal with the dually tires there heavy and not easy to get off much less put back on by your self Must be tool that the shops use (if so what is it). And is there something for use home shop. I have power tools to remove the bolts and heavy duty jack and jack stands etc but nothing to lift the tires so can put them back on the truck
  15. Great that Ford offers a tail gate step for the trucks but what about side step in case I can not accewss the tail gate (towing etc). Offten need to get something out of the back of the truck or get into my tool box but without step I have hard time getting access. I am 6ft tall and still need a step to access the tool box (especially if item I need is in the middle of the box) Maybe a step that folds out ? and is big enojugh to stand on. I tried after market step but you could only put 1 foot on the step which did not help much
  16. Dumb question how are the daytime running lights supposed to work.. I have the light sensor on my dash but appears I do not have the daytime running lights feature in my 2008 SD
  17. Long time owner of Ford gas Tucks. Never owned a diesel any thing. BUT got a 30ft 5th wheel trailer and need power to tow it. Got a 2006 F350 Dully SD diesel and loved it Found http://powerstrokehelp.com/ online got all the info I need to do work on the diesel. Recently orderd my 3 F350 SD diesel
  18. You want the Supplemental Heater the diesel heats up slower than gas and without it you be blowing cool air for a while I live on the cost in Calif we had few days were weather was just above or at freezing and have the Supplemental Heater in my 2008 SD warmed thigs up quickly. Heated seats help too By the way the Supplemental Heater requires dual Alternators beasue of the high current draw
  19. I was told that build takes about 10 hours BUT then shipping can take awhile (assuming no weather issues which can cause majior delays). My F350 SD is supposed to be built 5/5. Once its done (I do not have window sticker yet so date is not confirmed) VIN 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839. Once built then have to wait for shipping that heading to your dealership area. Bigger the dealership sooner item would get shipped IF I thorugh my wife would not change the locks on the house I would fly out to kentucky and drive the truck back my self I have owned 5 ford trucks but this will be first time I got everthing I wanted insted of picking what dealership had to offer
  20. I have updated by GPS data 2x and did not find it that hard to do Go through the menu to find option to udpate the system (so the front opens) Remove the old DVD and insert tne new DVD just that easy Did this on 2008 F350
  21. I have also been trying to download my window sticker for VIN 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839 but no luck so far also. I have had the VIN for about 2 weeks. Did find note online the the window sticker is not online till about 1 to 2 weeks from buiild date. Mine is supposed to be build on May 5th (at least that what the dealyer told me)
  22. I place order for my 2015 F350 on 3/27 and got VIN number two weeks later 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839 with a tentative build date of May 5th. I hope that date is good ??
  23. I recently custom ordered a 2015 F350 SD Dually Diesel King Ranch I asked the dealyer for brocure and he told me there so expensive that just go online and get one I went online and ordered brocure more the 4 weeks ago.. Never came. I tried the PDF link and no brocure What's up with that...
  24. I got my first Ford truck in 1981 and have been super fan of the ford trucks since then You can see picture of my first F150 4x4 stuck in creek http://www.wgunkel.com/82ndAirborne/Gifs/TruckStuck.gif Since my first truck I have had 2 F150 4x4 1 F250 4x4 F 350 SD Dually Diesel 4x4 - 2006 - 2008 which I am currently driving I lucky enough to be cashing in large block of stock from a tech company next month so I just custom ordered 2015 F 350 SD Dually Diesel King Ranch. Never thought I would be able to custom order a truck and then pay cash for it..;. Supposed to be build on 5/5 VIN 1FT8W3DT3FEA45839 - But have not got confirmed date yet and when I check if window sticker has been created it has not After working on gas truck (F150) for many years I have to say I like working on the diesel. Oil change is easy as is almost everthing else. Only hard thing to change is the gas filter under the truck - on both the 2006 and 2008 its hard to get tool and there is almost no space to get it out FYI: When I sold my 1979 F150 it had 95,000 hard miles on it
