EXACTLY! The union should’ve been more aggressively defending these workers from day one! The situation should’ve been dealt with and shutdown. Nobody with proof of payment should have to go through this shit.

I don’t blame you one bit based on what you’re saying. You’re better off bringing in your own food or buying snacks and all that than dealing with all that shit. You shouldn’t have to pay more just to make sure everything is good, f that! Wise decision to stop buying from them.

After reading the stories about this situation I will NEVER use any of the vending machines or kiosks they have in the plant. Ford should be ashamed of themselves, these employees should’ve never been fired in the first place since they had proof of payment.

I’ve been back since June 1st. Most of the workforce is back although we still have almost 400 people on layoff. We are currently in PP2 phase of the launch extremely low numbers right now as these are not for sale units. In September we start to ramp up more. The ok to ship is November 2nd so it’s gonna be slow for awhile. Ford wants 55 units an hour when we get going to regular production.

Lol compared to what you guys get maybe but I think it’s good under the current circumstances and political environment.

Most people are happy with it as they should be. It will pass no problem. There’s always people who can’t be pleased I say F them!

The gains for short work week are for people with lower seniority eligibility starts now at 1 year seniority instead of 3 years. When they stop the shift early we get short work week. It’s a percentage of our pay. So it’s we work day 5.5 hours we will get 2.5 hours short work week at a lower pay rate to fill out the 8 hours. It gots up to 40 hours max. If we go to work for one day and then they send us home for the week we get short work week up to 40 hours. I hope I’m making some sense here.

They could build all of the 140000 f series they sell in Canada at Oakville. I just don’t believe that will happen with all this Cusma crap for now if ever. It’s a great idea though. There’s all these second shift is coming rumors too. I’ll believe it when I see it. They’re pumping 5 billion Canadian into that plant, you would think they want two shifts there. It’s been nothing but a rollercoaster ride at OAC since 2020. We’ve had over 3 years total downtime in total. Like I said Saturday is Oakville ratification meeting in Hamilton. I will give details if the info isn’t already plastered all over unifor.ca by then.

This is how it’s gonna go, our ratification meeting is Saturday July 18th in Hamilton at 10am. The union is being very tight lipped, nothing has leaked out so far. On Friday our local 707 reps will meet with the ford master bargaining committee to go over the details of this tentative agreement. So unless something leaks prior somehow Friday may be the earliest we hear any details.

Ford and Unifor reached a tentative agreement tonight. I will present the details when they emerge for those who may be interested.

We shall see what happens. Today is the deadline and it’s been dead quiet so far
