  1. Agreed, however the mix Ford makes of SE's versus Titaniums is heavily weighted toward the SE's. Right now on Cars.com, 70% of 2017 Fusions for sale are SE models, so they're by far the more popular model. This is consistent with the mix I saw on a guide I received back in March from a local Ford dealer. Apparently they usually build 70% SE's and 30% everything else.
  2. That is correct, however I would have considered the Titanium for 2017 were it available with the 1.5. Since it's not, I went with the SE. Also kinda bummed that you can't get HD radio on anything but the Titanium or higher.

    Hello

Welcome! Well, as you know, you pay for that extra service. My last three cars were a Mercedes, a BMW and an Audi. They were great cars, and you do get those kinds of concierge type services. But those cars cost a lot to own after a few years. The Mercedes took ONLY premium fuel, so there's $.50/gal extra every time. It also took only synthetic engine oil, so a $25 oil change cost $100 on that car. And the tires were different size front and back, so no rotating tires. I think I'll pay for the loaners, thanks. It also depends on which dealer. My local Ford dealer not only offers a loaner whenever your car is in for service, but you get a loaner once per year, no matter what, just to drive for a couple of days. Anyway, have fun with your Stang!
  4. No worries. I actually did that because it was taking a long time to get my brochure and I thought it had gotten lost in the cracks. This was before I even knew about the possibility of a cash offer-that came as a complete surprise. BTW my car was shipped from the plant yesterday and is on its way. ETA June 4.
  5. Thank you very much for the update and have a great day!
  6. Yes I do! Now let's hope that Fusion arrives on schedule!
  7. Well an interesting development is that I got another brochure in the mail today that's addressed to my wife (with the same cash offer) and it doesn't expire until after the (estimated) arrival of my car. I checked with Ford to make sure I can use it and I can. So assuming the car gets here when it's supposed to, I should be okay.
  8. Wondered if you could answer a question about that. Do you know how long a dealer would hold a factory ordered car once it was delivered? Let's say hypothetically that the car arrives and I have no private offer from Ford. So I go online and order a new brochure from them in the hopes that it contains another offer like the last one did. Would the dealer just let me wait or is he likely to put my special order into stock and try to sell it? I realize this might depend on the dealer. I'm 99% sure he's not going to discount the car by $750 to match the private cash offer if it expires prior to delivery.
  9. She tells me she had, err, just used the toilet for its normal function and the key slipped out of her pants pocket just as she was pushing the flush lever down. Truth is stranger than fiction, what can I say?
  10. First off, I know it sucks. My wife accidentally flushed one of her VW keys down the toilet a couple of weeks ago. She was pretty mad at herself but guess what? VW charges $300 for their keys, too. And you know what? So does Honda and Mercedes. It's just the reality of smart key technology. ALL of the major brands charge a lot more for their keys than they used to. That's because keys don't just open doors and start the car nowadays. And yes, the technology behind those keys is expensive. Since you work in the semiconductor industry, I'm sure you know that technology costs a lot to develop. I almost lost one of the keys to my old Mercedes and was none too pleased at the prospect of having to shell out the cash. However, be that as it may, you mentioned that you only buy used cars. Good for you, I'm sure you saved $1,000s in depreciation costs by buying that 2015 Fusion. Great car, by the way, I'm sure you're enjoying it. But my point is that while you may have to pay $300 for an extra key, you saved WAY more than that by buying used. Lastly, I sensed in your post that you were getting more and more carried away with a scenario about which you were entirely speculating. Yes, you're angry and I'm not surprised. But you just made up facts starting with how much you "think" it costs Ford to make that key and then pretty soon you're ending every sentence with !! and then assuming you're correct about a 1000% markup. And then you go off about the charge to the poor man making only minimum wage, when you admit you make more than that. I think you just need to calm down. Sure, you hate having to buy a new key. But I'm sure you know the reason behind them having to program it. In the old days any schmuck could steal your car with a regular old key, it's impossible for car thieves to duplicate a programmed key. OK maybe not 100% impossible, but smartkey technology helps prevent your beautiful 2015 Fusion from being stolen, and that to me would be worth the $300. Just my $.02...
  11. Yup, I took another look and found it. In the Order Guide it's listed under "Functional" at the beginning of the relevant sections. Mine won't have it (SE gasoline model) but I was impressed with how quiet the regular 2015 and 2016s were, so no big deal. Anyway, I thought the KBB review was good and it makes me really excited about buying my first Fusion.
  12. Yeah, I got an order guide from a local dealer in March and saw the Active Noise Cancellation listed, but couldn't find anywhere it said which models it applied to. Guess I must have missed it (although it's 29 pp long and I may have just overlooked it). Oh, well..
  13. http://www.kbb.com/car-news/all-the-latest/2017-ford-fusion-first-review/2100000703/ I'm interested in knowing whether the Active Noise Cancellation they talk about it only available on the higher trims or not.

  15. Can you update me any more on this? VIN= 3FA6P0HD1HR121795 (I know it's only been a week since I first asked)
  16. Check out this link, which I found earlier today. Talking about a similar issue with Fusions shutting off for no apparent reason. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchResults;jsessionid=5cXdX77CNyFQV3kgk8njTqpqn7LhTpJhgTFp5FzK3V1vVPQxDS6c!-56154047?prodType=V&searchType=PROD&targetCategory=A&searchCriteria.model=FUSION&stats=1991868%2C1%2C0%2C9%2C3%2CFUSION&makeStats=&jsonBaseURL=%2Fdownloads%2Ffolders%2F&searchCriteria.model_yr=2016&searchCriteria.make=FORD&searchCriteria.prod_ids=1991868 PS once it goes to that page, you have to click on "Complaints."
  17. I wondered about that, too. Not sure what their criteria are, but my wife and I both have excellent credit-maybe that was it! Salesman is trying to get a Ford higher-up to approve the offer or backdate it. Fingers still crossed.
  18. Well that definitely sounds promising! If all else fails, I'll give the marketing department a call on June 4 and hope to get the same offer again. ?
  19. They verified the amount of the offer and the expiration date. Also that the offer code can't be extended because the offer code will be invalid. Which is conveniently 4 days before my car's ETA (they confirmed it'll be June 7). If I were the paranoid type, I'd say they deliberately dated the offer so I'd miss out on applying it to my factory order. And the salesman told me he can't backdate the bill of sale. Great. Well, if that's true, I'm going to let the car sit there at the dealership and keep calling Ford Marketing until they renew the cash offer, no matter how long it takes. The number I called is 800-334-4375. I called Ford Customer Service and they transferred me, but gave me the direct number as well.
  20. Verified with Ford marketing about the private cash offer earlier today-interestingly, they said I don't need to order a brochure to get offers. All I have to do is call their direct phone number and give them my name and address-their system will tell me what offers I'm eligible for. Still hoping my Fusion beats the expiration date of the cash offer.
  21. Just called Ford and was told my car is awaiting shipment, they anticipate delivery at my dealership between June 1-7. Hoping Transitman above gets good news soon on his Fusion.
  22. Doesn't work, full stop. My car is actually being built and my ETA is June 1-7, and STILL nothing shows on any of the tracking sites. I can only (per forum rules) ask for an update once a week and my salesperson is tired of me bugging him. I get this message every time: "A matching vehicle could not be determined. Please contact your dealer to get status updated about your order." Oh well, guess I'm spoiled after getting constant updates on orders from online sites, my tax refund, etc...
  23. Thank you again, that's very helpful. I wonder how often people are able to get that private cash offer to work. From my research here on the forums, it looks hit or miss, seems to come down to the salesman you're working with. In any case, I'd have absolutely no problem signing the papers early. That discount is really nice, and is on top of the publically available incentives from Ford. I emailed my salesman this morning and am awaiting his reply.
  24. Really? Interesting, would a salesman allow me to sign the papers early so as to take advantage of the discount? That would suit me fine, I have the money for the car anyway.
