  1. Tuesday I got the VIN and build week of 3/7 for a 450 Platinum I ordered on 10/21/2021
  2. Definitely not your imagination. I just looked back and my post from this morning seems to have kicked off the party. I counted 20 of us that got their first scheduling notice today. There were a variety of trucks including 350’s and 450’s. I’m giving all the credit to GUMBO! That seemed to have worked so well, I’m going to take some Boudain down to my guys for my next visit. ?
  3. That can happen when you have mad gumbo skills. ?
  4. Funny, I’m in the same boat. Been driving black since 2012. I’m more than ready for a change.
  5. I went with the Rapid Red. Carbonized Gray or Star White were the other options for me.
  6. A tonneau cover will be much easier add later as compared to the work required to upgrade to something like the tremor package. As far as time delay, that’s anyone’s guess.
  7. F-450 Platinum ordered 10/26. Still unscheduled clean
  8. I added the snowplow prep to my F450 order. We don’t need to plow down here but the deer population makes a real heavy duty bumper a necessity.
  9. Well I didn’t get an email showing my truck in production today, so I’m breaking out the big incentives and going to see the guys down at the dealership tomorrow….. Gumbo might not get the truck built any faster but it never hurts to have friends at the dealership. ?
  10. I ordered the same truck but included the snowplow prep on 10/21. I’m making gumbo tomorrow and taking some by the dealership. Hey, it can’t hurt. ?
  11. I’ve had this F450 Platinum on order since 10/21/21. There’s been no movement so far. I stopped by my dealership today and asked them to see if they could get me moved up to a priority 2. There were several 450’s showing up in this thread as in production and several were delivered. However, that seems to have died off since late last year. So now I’m curious if any of the 450 guys around here have gotten any updates lately?
  12. I stopped by my dealership yesterday to check up on my 450 platinum. I ordered 10/21 and sill on the unscheduled list. No big surprise there. So I dropped off some Boudin and headed out to the deer camp. At least we all ate well. ?
  13. I ordered a F-450 Platinum in Rapid Red on 10/21/2021 so that gives me some hope….which can be crushed at an appropriate time in the future. ?
  14. Thanks for the information akirby. I just got home from a week down in the Rio Grande valley so I’ll swing by and make sure we are straight on the money. FWIW, I’m dealing with the GM and his new car sales manager and they have been nothing but helpful. I’ve purchased a fair number of trucks over the years (all three major brands) and I don’t try to beat up on the sales guy. I want my guys to make money and be there when I need them. Starting a business relationship from an adversarial position isn’t the way I work.
  15. I’m new to the order process so bear with me if this has been answered somewhere else. What constitutes a “buyers order” and is my cost locked based on the signed build sheet? I went into my dealer and we went through the options and selected those for my truck. The dealer printed out the detail sheet which I signed. I also gave them a copy of my drivers license. The sales manager entered the order including my information and I received a confirmation email from Ford. The dealer didn’t request a deposit. Since that time I’ve heard rumors of other dealers adding a “market adjustment” fee to the cost at delivery. I know in the Texas market some dealers are adding 10k plus to their advertised price. I’m not in a hurry and I’ve also discovered I can qualify for X-plan pricing by the time the truck is actually built. I figured as long as the final price fell somewhere between X-plan and MSRP, we would come to a happy medium. Any help from the knowledge trust would be greatly appreciated.
  16. FWIW, The equipment I use every day is made right here at home. And just like everyone else we are still facing supply chain issues. Some of the internal components are made by other manufacturers/suppliers and they have their own challenges to overcome, And so on…. Whether steel, plastics, precursors for other processes, labor shortage or whatever, everyone is doing the best they can in a difficult time. This won’t be over soon and about all any of us can do is grit our teeth and keep on making the best of what we do have. Now, it’s time to get back to speculating on our delivery dates. ?
  17. And….a new player enters the game. F-450 Platinum - Rapid Red Added the usual (block heater, upfitter switches, etc.) stuff that shouldn’t create a glitch DID NOT order AS or spray in bed liner Order date 10/21/21 Confirmation from Ford received 10/21/21 Order was setup and input by the sales manager Now the wait begins….and the struggle is real. Many thanks to the folks that have provided so much information and guidance on the process.
