  1. When I asked my dealer about this on Saturday he told me that the lady that runs all the orders through the COVP only works weekdays, but that all current retail orders (including mine that had been placed a month prior to this) at this dealership had already been run though the program and "all were approved." I don't know time frames, but the way he made it sound was that it was a pretty straight forward process... I don't know though, and I did not ask for proof of having it done...
  2. That’s my understanding too about the spray in bed liner, but like I mentioned, I have seen folks with those options getting scheduled…
  3. I haven’t heard of anyone’s being held up because of tonneau covers, but who really knows. Browsing the various forums I have seen people reporting that they still got scheduled with tonneaus’, bed liners, console safes, etc… I did add a hard folding tonneau cover to my order and don’t have a schedule date, but mine is also an XLT with the HCTT and the UTT package so that’s for sure holding mine up. I did consider removing it just in case it would hold things up, and because I wonder how good the Ford branded cover will be… I am wanting a Bakflip so I can use the Bakbox with it, and the Ford branded one looks like it may be a rebranded Bakflip, but I can’t k ow for sure.
  4. Yeah, and of course any rebates that may come up. At the time of order I did qualify for the Farm Bureau $500 rebate but now that I have a $1500 PCO I can’t use them both. Like I said though, I thought that was a good deal, so I went with it. However, now the base invoice price went up $238 when I added an option and I don’t know if I should try to push it to take it off, or just go with it.
  5. Did you get the HCTT package. As indicated in the 22 order guide, and quoted above, if you added the HCTT package, it comes with a 3” hitch receiver, but without the package it’s a 2.5” hitch receiver.
  6. On 5/24 when I placed the order. Like I said, I have seen some say they got below invoice (some with the “plans” and some without) but I see lots talking about how some dealers won’t budge from MSRP, and even well above MSRP.
  7. Thanks. This is my first time ordering a new vehicle, and the previous new vehicles we bought were just off the lot at another dealer. So this is the first time actually going through the order process, and at this dealership. (And a mighty fine time to do so I'd say... lol!) To be fair, the dealer I have been dealing with has been very nice, and I don't get that feeling that he is trying to run me around, or hang me out to dry. Heck, he even tried to talk me into waiting to order until things got a little more normal again. He has been very pleasant to speak with on ALL the occasions I have called (including to his home on his day off) and visited the shop, and he has answered all my questions (about all these new rules with the license and the CVOP stuff) rather assuredly, but, at the same time, I'm sure he is just doing his job, and that's to make sales and bring home a pay check. Also, FWIW, he quoted me a sales price of invoice +$500, which when looking around at what others were saying some dealers are asking, I felt was fair, so I went for it. Considering all of this, I have been hesitant to push back over $238, but then again, it is $238 and what if it were to happen again? At this point, unless I can get something documented in writing, I don't think I am going to push this again until the truck is actually here and I go in to sign the papers, at which time I will ask again about why the price increased from the original order date. Then again, part of me wants to go back in and get a whole other receipt with the new sales price (from adding the option) with sales tax figured in and get that signed now... just to have it...
  8. This has happened to me. On 5/24 I placed an order and then on 6/21 added an option since my order still wasn't scheduled. After getting home I realized that the base MSRP and the base Invoice price had increased. The next day I called my dealer and asked about this but he told me that Ford changes the numbers and he cannot unchange them. Is there any sort of documentation anywhere that would state that the base price should be locked in from the date of order that I can bring with me to have this changed back?
  9. I think it was you telling me about this in another thread. Do you a have a link to any actual documentation that will back this up though... I don't think my dealer is trying to run me around, but I haven't been pushy either... If I had some sort of documentation though that I could bring with me that may help though... And I know it's only $238, but still... lol!
  10. I originally place an order for a 2022 SD on 5/24. At that time, the base MSRP was $46630 and the base Invoice was $44298. On 6/21 I added an option to my truck since it still wasn't scheduled and I noticed that my base MSRP jumped up to $46880 and the base invoice price was now $44536. In my original deal I was quoted invoice price +$500 would be the final sale price, so when I noticed the invoice price bump and asked my dealer he told me that Ford must have raised the prices between the time of my original order and the time that I added that option. I told him that I thought I locked in the original price when we placed the order and he simply told me that Ford raises the numbers and he can't change those... so I am now stuck with an extra $238 in my final price... I don't know how I could get that price back to the original price, but I know I won't be making any more changes to the build. And come to think of it, I guess I need to go and get it in writing that there will not be any further price increases... I assumed that by signing the original build sheet and placing the order with a deposit that would have done so, but I guess I'm wrong.
  11. At least you got a date! That’s saying something… I’m one of the unlucky ones with an XLT with the HCTT and camera system that isn’t being scheduled “until further notice…”
  12. If it's a 22 then they don't start building those til July 10... Doubt it's being built right now. But it's getting close. If your build week is July 25 then you only have about a month to go unless anything else changes! Good luck.
  13. So, reluctantly, I yet again called my dealer and inquired about this. Yes, as Ice Capades mentioned, it does have to go through the COVP with appropriate documentation so that the orders can be scheduled, and yes, mine had been through... because it's a normal part of the buying process. When bugging my dealer about this he also let me know that to date, all orders placed at this dealership have been entered into the COVP, and all have been approved, so all orders are just simply waiting to get scheduled to build. At this time, there is nothing more that can be done. Maybe I just have a good dealer (although, I'll admit, until the truck is actually delivered, that is yet to be truly seen), but this is as I suspected... just part of the normal buying process. Nothing special really. I'd bet that if things weren't as crazy as they are now days, most buyers would probably not even be aware of this process...
  14. So on 5/24 when I placed the order and paid my deposit I immediately got the confirmation email from Ford. Also, while submitting my order, my dealer went ahead and entered both mine and my wife’s license into the system. Since then, I have called Ford marketing hoping for a VIN, and while I still don’t have one, each time they did conform that my order was in the system. I think they called it “Unscheduled-clean” but each time my order and information was all entered into Ford’s system. Maybe it needs to be entered…. harder?? I don’t ow… A couple of weeks after I submitted all of my stuff is when these verification forms became a thing… and the consensus was that this only applied for orders placed after June 8th. Despite this though, many people have reported that their dealers contacted them for a copy of their license and/or a $500 deposit that had ordered before June 8th. When I asked my dealer about this he wasn’t even aware of it at first but assured me that everything of mine was good because he had already collected that info and entered it into the system anyway. Also, I assume he was in the VVR and he said everything looked good in there. And now this… now we need yet another confirmation letter?! I somewhat wonder if this is real, or if it’s just dealers coming up with stuff to stay busy… I guess all of these things could also be true and sometimes some of the dealers just present things that haven’t been presented before to simply assure all of us that are patiently waiting for our trucks…
  15. If it seems sound to you and it has everything you want on it and you don’t mind buying used, I would just take it to a mechanic that you trust and let them look it over, connect it to a computer and see if any history shows up. Then if everything checks out and your still happy, go for it. Me personally, I just don’t have much luck with used vehicles… I never have except for one vehicle that I still have. Otherwise, I prefer to buy new, with the understanding that even new doesn’t mean perfect, and lemons are a real thing! Also, for me and the truck I have on order, I plan to tow often with it and expect to have it for a long time, so zero miles is where I wanted to start with this in mind. As for the mileage on the one you are looking at, I have heard that diesels go on forever, but I would be a nervous wreck buying one with more than about 75k. And I would also be hesitant about the Canadian environment, but a good inspection would likely point out any issues from that I would assume. Either way, good luck!
  16. I saw this over there too… hoping Ice Capades will have some sort of info about this soon!
  17. I personally wouldn’t buy a rental truck myself. I rented 2 last year for some fairly long trips with the camper, and while I was gentle to it and made sure I brought it back as I got it, it made me wonder how others treat it. The first one was a F250 that only had 52 miles in it when I picked it up. I brought it back around 4100 miles, and with about 3800 of those towing. And while it was a smaller camper, I cringed thinking that the truck hasn’t even been driven the recommended 1000 miles before towing. Maybe it’s just me, but even with me being the only renter in this vehicle at that point, I wouldn’t have wanted to buy it… don’t get me wrong though, it performed great and it may not have been an issue, but I personally want to k ow I did things “right” from the get go if I am buying a vehicle this expensive. OTOH, the second vehicle was a 2020 Ram 2500 with 20k miles… and well, it seemed to have been “used.” Sure it performed fine, but it seemed… used. Not as quiet or as responsive and just smooth as the Ford I rented. Plus, it stunk of cigarettes and when vacuuming it out before bringing it back I found all sorts of trash under the seats, including hard French fries! When I approached the rental company to make sure they knew I did not smoke in it and that it was a mess when I picked it up, they shrugged it off and said that these trucks are usually rented by companies for “work” and that after a few thousand miles they get lax on cleanliness and smoking in them. Ummm… no thanks! So, 2 polar opposite experiences with rental trucks, and even though I didn’t hot rod them or do anything hard in them (really all on paved roads or at worst, gravel) I still personally would rather just start new and have full control from the beginning. Yes they do service them, but I don’t think that tells the whole story… especially with so many different renters. If buying used I would rather buy from an individual (preferably that I knew) and kept good records of maintenance, and that I trusted didn’t “hot rod” it or take it through mud holes every weekend! That’s just me though…
  18. I‘ll add mine to pile too! Originally ordered 5/24/2021 from Long Lewis Ford in Corinth, MS Last updated 6/21 to include the HCTT (10800 GVWR) package. 19. Yes, the PCO is tied to your name. So, putting in different names or what not wouldn't work... Maybe though, if say both me and my wife had PCO's and we were both listed on the sale, that might work, but I really don't know there... That's not true. When speaking with Ford marketing I have been told several times that these PCO's will extend to include 2022 SD's, and that the expiration date will be pushed since my order was placed well before the expiration date. I am not the only one that this has been told to either, just check out any of the incentive threads on the FTE or the Ford Tremor site. Also, the last 2 times I have called Ford Marketing, when giving my name and address for verification, they even told me "Oh, I see you have a $1500 PCO on your account too!" without me even bringing it up. Saying that, I guess we will see when the time comes to actually sign the papers, but so far I am confident that they will work. Also, I could even see new PCO's being sent out after July 6... although, getting them may be hard.
  20. I managed to generate a $1500 PCO after just 4 inquiries for an internet price! Saying that though, it is random... and yes, you will get lots of emails and phone calls when attempting this! lol... They just blend in with all the other random spam risk calls I tend to get these days though, so it wasn't a big deal for me!
  21. If the 2 trucks are indeed exactly the same in every way, then I can't explain it. But, for example, when I originally ordered my 250 I did not include the HCTT package. By default, this gave me lower GVWR, GCWR and tow capacities. This also meant that it came with a smaller (I imagine a Class 4) hitch receiver with only a 2.5" hitch opening. By adding the HCTT package, all of those weights increased, as well as including a heavier duty Class 5 hitch receiver with an even larger 3 inch hitch opening. By default now, both the truck and the hitch can handle more load, just by adding this one optional package.
  22. Yeah, for us, between passengers (including driver), cargo and camper tongue weight we should be at no more than 1750 lb at the most, but more realistically at 1600 lb. Before adding the HCTT package I was estimating our truck to have around a 2200-ish payload. Now that I have added the HCTT package though I’m hoping for closer to 2700!
  23. Yeah, the actual “hitch rating” is based on whatever class hitch receiver you have. But the trucks actual tow capacity will be based on its options. Here is a photo I took of a class 5 hitch receiver on a f250 at a dealer yesterday. It has the HCTT package so it can tow heavier than the standard 250. This is a big one with a 3” hitch! (You may have to zoom in, but it states 21,200 lbs.)
  24. Yeah, a 350 wasn't much more expensive than what I ended up with (about $1500), but with what I have ordered, it will be more than I actually need... I did like the thought of adding in the extra buffers just to "make the most out of what it is" though. But for this reason, I didn't really need to go to a 350. In the future if we ever decide we want a "big" camper, we would just jump up to a DRW 450! So, when you added the FX4 package to your 350 did it show up that it decreased the towing amounts? I haven't seen any notification about that package decreasing it, only the Tremor package. Also, FWIW, in the 2022 Body Builders Guide on page 5, it lists a F250 with the 10800 lb GVWR as having a 30000 lb GCWR... it doesn't show towing numbers in the Body Builder Guide, but it would be weird that even with A/T tires, the GCWR could increase from 235000 to 30000 without any mention to a specific type or size of tire to be required, but that somehow it would change the towing capacity listed on the towing guide (also note that the GVWR stays the same on the Towing guide without regard to any specific tire or size too).
  25. Same here… I just looked at the fact that I would need the HCTT package to get the overall higher weights (so I added it). And I’ll admit, I’m new to all of this, but I could have sworn I read somewhere else that by going with A/T tires over A/S tires on certain models (I think in the 350’s) was one way to get a slightly higher weight rating. But this towing guide seems to contradict that, as well as the actual load ratings of the tires themselves. Again, maybe I am just not reading it correctly or just missing something all together but it doesn’t make sense. Hope someone can clarify this (and that I still have the higher ratings with my choices.)
