  1. Lets fire up the 2024 one as well just for fun. I heard the 2024 model will be a flying truck!
  2. The tracker will update to "shipped" and will eventually update that its arrived at your dealer(mine didnt until 48 hours later when the truck was already in my driveway) To track it beyond that you will need to ask your dealer for updates or you can post in the Vehicle Locator Forum and cyberdman will be able to tell you whats going on(make sure you read and follow the rules for the best experiance).
  3. mine was 10 weeks from vin to delivery. Build Date held. It sat for almost a month in a rail yard during shipping.
  4. with all the shortages and production issues i wouldnt expect any sort of incentives
  5. Your price should have been locked in when you submitted the order. Did you put down a deposit? The only thing my dealer couldn't guarantee at time of order was financing rates. Mostly due to the expected long lead time extending into this year. (6-8 months).
  6. I suspect its just a piece of plastic stuck to the bed before the liner is applied. the box is not different.
  7. Mine is a Garmin 47. I dont have any complaints now that its quiet and minds it own business?. Mostly have it for insurance reasons(sometimes i forget its even there) but have pulled a few clips here and there for entertainment.
  8. Towing the diesel wins hands down every time. Especially when you get into heavy towing(say above 10k lbs). If you tow heavy or frequently the diesel is what you want. For the average guy who pulls his boat to the lake or takes a modest size rv camping the 7.3 is more then capable. Gasser is cheaper for maintainance for sure. If the diesel is worth it or not really depends on your situation.
  9. There is a difference between choosing to borrow and needing to borrow. Investments are always a gamble to some degree. without risk there cannot be reward. Nothing wrong with the simple pay cash and have zero debt approach either, different strokes for different folks. I have a buddy who just paid off his Mortgage in 2 years because he hates debt. Great for him, to me it doesn't make long term financial sense but I'm still happy for him. At the end of the day it all comes down to what your goals are in life.
  10. Yes, a lot of it comes down to your perspective on money. Much like you cash to me is unlimited opportunity, why would I give up that opportunity for 2%? Ultimately it comes down to can you actually afford it. If push came to shove I could easily move funds around and pay my truck off with a few days notice. To me that is enough justification that I can afford it. I also put a large enough down payment on it(proceeds from selling my previous truck and a car I had) that I will never be upside down on the loan, so if plan A for some reason fails I could always sell the truck and pay it out.
  11. Fuel filters with every other oil change. Thats about it. Ford got it figured out for these 6.7's. I run a lubrication additive in my fuel to help the CP4 pump. I dont know how real the problem is as the internet seems to blow it out of proportion, but its cheap peace of mind at the very least for me. With the Emissions stuff you want to try avoid extended idling periods. Itll take it, but the less you do it the better for the life the emissions components. Going from a 6l to a new 6.7 is going to be one hell of an upgrade for you.
  12. Check where the wiring harness plugs into the bumper on the back side. I had an issue when I actually connected a trailer(Trailer Light Module fault). Pulled the harness connection off and some water came out. After that the issue was gone. I had done a rather thorough power wash of the truck and undercarriage the day before so it may have been self inflicted, either way ive now put some dielectric grease in that connection as well. Never had an issue when there is no trailer actually connected.
  13. Yep, Can confirm i have not heard it again since turning all that stuff off.
  14. Its the nature of internet forums. There is lots of wrong/false/bad information on every forum. Learning how to weed through it and use your own judgement is key. If you only want facts stick to official press releases or notices that come directly from FMC.
  15. Outside of the agonizing waiting game mine was pretty seamless. Dealer did everything in their power to help so I cant fault them on that part of it. Was told on the phone before I even set foot in the dealership what sort of pricing to expect and that there was no negotiating on these trucks currently, I was aware of the market situation and basically expected this anyways. Ordering was straight forward we went over my options, I signed a build order and left a deposit. My sales guy gave me his cell number and I always got fairly prompt responses when I did reach out for updates(I was respectful of his off time and only texted him during dealer hours). Almost 7 months to the day later my sales guy calls and tells me my truck is currently getting offloaded from the transport. He said the shop was fairly backed up but he was going to try to get it through PDI ASAP. I hadn't heard anything the rest of the day so i stopped by after work that day, He told me it wasn't through PDI yet but threw me the keys and left me to go check it over(plastic wrap on the seats still and all!). After play time we did some preliminary paperwork and he said it would be ready to go the next evening. The next afternoon I get a text that everything is ready to go. Breezed through all the paperwork and within 40 minutes I was driving out of the parking lot.
  16. Mine was 7 months nearly to the day OTD. dropped bedliner but kept fifth wheel prep. was around 4.5 months of crickets waiting to get scheduled. Ordered June 7th,2021. Delivered Jan 6th 2022.
  17. Just dropped mine off for a bedliner this morning. The local company does Scorpion Liners. Not a lot of options local to me unfortunately. $675 Canadian pesos(~$530 usd). They gave me a loaner vehicle as well because they want to keep it inside overnight to cure. Ill post a pic when i get it back tomorrow.
  18. Because technology has improved a great deal in the last 50 years. Modern engines are very different in almost every aspect from the old big blocks.
  19. My platinum Tremor 6.7 no moonroof is 3327lbs.
  20. You can try to pull your window sticker. It becomes available when your vehicle is "sent to plant" which is typically about a week before it goes into production. If you get a window sticker it means ford is still planning on building your truck very soon.
  21. Well I think i found it. They were all turned on. Didnt even know new fangled dash cams had all these features ?
  22. that involves opening and reading the instructions that came with it ? jokes aside i suspect you are on the right track though
  23. Interestingly it did it in the exact same spot again as my dash camera video the other day. Wasnt even any other traffic around this time. the noise itself isnt annoying, but not knowing what it means is ?
  24. A Large down payment that came from selling a few other vehicles including my previous truck left me with a comfortable payment on a 60 month term. I plan to pay it down/off much sooner then that anyways. For me Its trying to strike a balance between investments and my hate for vehicle payments. ? I never planned to buy a new truck at all, but with the market on used vehicles going crazy I seized the opportunity. I also plan for this to be a long term truck for me. A buy once cry once move.
