Uuuuuughhh!!! I just recd the dreaded email from Ford letting me know my production week has been extended from the week of 9/20 to the week of 9/27. Not a total surprise, but I was hoping to avoid the delays. Original order placed 3/23 on a F450 Lariat Ult. I won’t complain too much, I know lots of people here don’t even have a vin yet but the roller coaster ride is HARD!! I do appreciate the communication to keep me informed, these are uncharted times and everyone is trying to navigate the best they can. Maybe Ford can just ship me a kit like a piece of IKEA furniture and I’ll put it together myself, hmmmmmmm…..

Nobody knows, but the “Until Further Notice” qualifier is not optimistic. Some early orders with AS have been given a VIN/production week of 10/25, but it’s unknown if that date is a realistic one or just a placeholder until Ford pushes it out further.

There’s a commodity restriction for the Adaptive Steering option and it is preventing production at all trim levels. If you want your truck to have a chance at getting a VIN/production week, you will need to delete the option from your order or wait until the restriction is removed. As of now, Ford has labeled the delay as “Until Further Notice” which means it’s gonna awhile. Hope that helps.

I test drove a 21MY F450 before I ordered my 22MY F450 and the ride was excellent. It exceeded my expectations, so I ordered one. I haven’t received it yet but my test drive was on both city streets and on the highway. The ride was better than my current 2016 RAM 2500 Laramie. Just my .02

Another point that few seem to mention is that Ford has used certain dates as “holding places” for production extensions. What assurance do you have that 10/25 is a hard date? None. That date can easily be moved and there are NO guarantees. If time is of the essence, then I would buy the truck I can drive. If you are a perfectionist, then work on mastering your zen and wait until your ship comes in. It will get here, eventually. Just my .02, so it isn’t worth much

It seems odd to me…….I ordered 3/23 and removed AS and spray in bed liner (F450 Lariat Ult, diesel, 4x4) in July. I rec’d my VIN 8/13 for a build week of 9/20, yet people are getting the same week assigned today? How is it that you can order sooooo early and be serviced so close to last?!?! I question if FORD knows the difference between LIFO and FIFO. At this point I just want my truck but I can’t help but wonder why they do certain things the way they do……….

I run airlift springs and love them. But with that being said, it’s important to understand what they can/can’t do. They DO NOT increase your tow rating, payload rating, or any other spec on your vehicle. They DO however increase the ride comfort and vehicle control for heavily loaded vehicles. Lots of info on the web and you tube vids to help you decide. If you don’t tow near your max or upper 75% of your capacity, it may not benefit you. Hope that helps

From another thread re AS only being accepted on KR builds, makes sense but I don’t have any knowledge on the matter. As soon as I deleted it from my order it got scheduled. I also deleted my spray in bed liner. Not because it’s a commodity restriction but because it causes a shipping delay while it is being installed off site. As far as the upcoming schedule build week for this Thursday 8/19 goes, my 3/23 ordered F450 was finally scheduled last Thursday for the week of 9/20. Some even received 9/27 weeks last week. Not sure what is going on there…..any thoughts? It will be interesting to see what dates will be filled if any this week. Good luck to everyone waiting to be scheduled!!!! Fingers crossed

Today I rec’d an email from Ford giving me a VIN and a scheduled production week of 9/20. Original order 3/23, F450 lariat Ult w/ UTT (AS removed last month). I haven’t seen any restrictions on UTT lately, I think I recall something on XLT trims awhile ago but I’m not sure.

My original point was that it appears other dealers appear to be doing the same thing based on my story so it may just be industry practice, I would definitely call asap just to be sure

My guess is they are using it for free advertising because people are thirsty. I don’t think you will have a problem taking delivery but the ethics are questionable…..

I just located an F450 similar to my order. I know it’s not the truck i ordered but it’s close enough. I’ve been waiting since march and my order is still pending. I looked at the window sticker and saw “Special Order” in the lower center box. I thought hmmmmmm, did someone cancel? Or is it just bait to lure people in so they can tell you they can order one for you? Guess I’ll find out tomorrow. Hopefully I either get a VIN for my order or buy a one way plane ticket to my new F450.

I just deleted the spray in liner solely because if/when my truck gets produced, I don’t want the down time offsite before it gets shipped. I’d rather just get the truck here asap and schedule LineX or equivalent on my own time. I honestly don’t care either way as quality is concerned, I think they are both excellent products.

Lots and lots and lots of that info already here. Have you tried to search existing posts in your investigation? Short answer is, you will prob never see that truck. Priority code 80 is for Dealer Stock Orders and those aren’t even being built yet as retail orders have priority. You should have a Retail Order. The appropriate priority code should be 10-19. Try searching for addl info, Ice-Capades has published huge amounts of info on the topic. One more question like this and he may loose his mind, lol. hope that helps

At the time of my order (3/28) the online guide was still set up for MY21 and it wasn’t available. I also downloaded the Order Guide when Ice-Capades made it available here and don’t see it listed there either. I just emailed my dealer and asked him to add it to my pending (4/6) F450 Lariat Ult order. I also asked that he make the change prior to the next round of order scheduling this Thur 8/12. Hope it gets done and my order gets scheduled, he’s been great so far.

That’s great news, congrats!!! I too have a 450 Lariat Ultimate order (confirmed 4/6) but I had AS. I tried to delete it the beginning of last week but my dealer was a little slow to respond. It didn’t get removed until Friday after orders were scheduled, so who knows if it would have been selected. I’ll just have to wait until it's scheduled. I’ll post when it gets picked up. I don’t want to be negative, but the original notice for the AS commodity restriction described it as “Until Further Notice”. I don’t think it will be listed every week, but who knows. I chose to delete it from my F450 lariat order because I believe any available AS units will be used to produce higher trim level vehicles that have AS as a standard feature. I wouldn’t want to count on Ford to let us know when the restriction is lifted, but members here can advise when they receive their VIN and if that option is present. We may be able to detect it early. I appreciate all the information everyone provides here!! Thanks

I just checked the Pepsi and Coors Light websites. My hood and tailgate are still beverages on store shelves waiting to be consumed and recycled before Ford can schedule my build.

I am not aware of any 2022 F450s produced as of yet, let alone delivered and sold. I would definitely follow up before you assume something of that magnitude. We all what happens when we assume…… I ordered an F450 back on 4/6 and am still waiting for a vin and build date

I ordered the almost identical truck on 4/6 (adaptive steering deleted last week). No updates on vin or build schedule except for order confirmation email.
