  1. 22 F250, $830 in KY. Ad valorem is most of that, registration is only like $26. Comes due in the birth month of the first person listed on the title.
  2. So far so good. We’re still on the first tank of gas, so not a lot of experience with it yet.
  3. Picked her up last night. Thanks again for doing this tracking for all of us.
  4. Ordered 8/14, picked up 12/14. Lariat Value, 7.3L, 4.30 gears, Onyx interior. Hood deflector, running boards, mud flaps and tailgate step.
  5. Talked to my nephew who works on the line at KTP, asked him about the reported chip shortage. He hasn't heard about that, but did say some trucks were being built without radios. Didn't say which model. Maybe, for simplicity's sake, they classify radios as "chip shortage" (my speculation, not his). He also confirmed that running boards are installed on the line, and that the hood deflector and mudflaps are done off site.
  6. Had our dealer look at it. Timing cover gasket. Says they have to drop the engine to get at it, and might as well change the water pump while we’re in there. $1300. Looks like I’m dealing with a little oil leaking for now.
  7. '74 Capri 2.8L (used) '79 British Capri 3.0L (used) '89 Escort GT 1.8L (new) '91 Escort GT 2.0L (new) '97 Mustang 3.8L (used) '01 Mustang 3.8L (new) '15 Fusion 2.5L (used) '22 F-250 7.3L (new) 8 out of 15 vehicles.
  8. That’s good news, Thank you for posting.
  9. Our nephew says he can get us an A Plan PIN for the SD we (wife and I) have on order. When we placed our order, we told the dealer we would have a PIN, they asked how we were eligible, we told them our nephew. Sales manager looked at a piece of paper and told us we were good (didn't show us what he was looking at, we assume it was plan rules). Nothing I've found online which shows A Plan eligibility says aunts & uncles are eligible. Plan rules can change, websites don't always get updated timely. Can anyone confirm if we are good with using an A plan PIN, or if we should have our nephew get us an X-plan PIN instead?
  10. My understanding of the process is, if you have a build date, you should have a VIN. Did you receive an order confirmation email from Ford? If so, then Ford has your correct email address, and you should receive updates from them as your truck hits various milestones, such as receiving a build date. If this is the case, then I would lean towards your dealership is blowing smoke.
  11. On this forum, at this thread, scroll to the bottom of the last page of the thread, the most current info is there:
  12. What I’ve seen reported is that at a couple cylinders the wires are prone to melting from the heat of the exhaust manifold.
  13. Oil from the PCV. Watched a video of a shop modifying a 12k mi Godzilla. When they removed the heads, they were surprised at the amount of oil in I believe it was the #8 cylinder head/intake port. A catch can will trap most of that oil before it goes back into the engine. Some think it’s not needed. I think it’s $100 - $200 that couldn’t hurt.
  14. While waiting to receive our F250 7.3L 4x4, I've been taking in a lot of info here, at FTE, and the Tremor forums. Learning from other's experiences, I've got a list of a couple things I'll do fairly quickly after receiving our truck, to hopefully prevent, or at least delay, some issues that seem to be happening: 1. Put dielectric grease on the plug by the spare tire 2. Replace factory lug nuts 3. Carry a spare set of spark plug wires 4. Install a catch can (not as urgent as the others, but couldn't hurt to do) Any other suggestions?
