  1. Show us the VVR! I suspect total BS or dealership foolery ... maybe both.
  2. I sincerely hope Ford figures out which 2022MY Super Duty orders they will not be able to build before the 2023MY order bank opens up so those customers have a chance to be first in line. I'm not sure it is easy to explain what i mean. IIRC the 2023MY order bank opens mid October. If Ford can't build my 2022MY SD I would like to know before the 20223My order bank opens up. I don't want to find out in November or December that I have to place a 2023MY and now I'm behind a bunch of orders that were already put in.
  3. I have no doubt there are some dealers deliberately playing games with the customers that placed orders that causes the customers to walk away. The dealer then adds fees and/or accessories to jack up the price. The reality is there are not enough deterrents to stop this kind of stuff from happening.
  4. Over a year? That smells of dealership tom foolery or incompetence. Did you ever get a confirmation email and a copy of the VVR?
  5. Something is not right and I think it may be your dealer. I would ask for a copy of the complete order history to verify the order was entered correctly. There are plenty of posts on here where dealers entered orders incorrectly.
  6. Wow .. that salesman either makes great money or is going to very soon.
  7. You definitely have some items on yours that have very limited availability. It's not impossible to get your truck built but it definitely reduces your chances. Good luck.
  8. They can't build what they don't have parts for. What are your build specs? I'm just over 7 months for a CCSB Platinum 6.7 4x4. Dropped AS, 5th wheel prep, and spray in bedliner, and tonneau.
  9. Agreed but there are probably thousands of vehicles at priority 02. Maybe thousands of vehicles per trim line at priority 02.
  10. The dealer will just use it as another reason to increase their selling price.
  11. This showed up in my YouTube feed today. It is pretty cool to see how things are built.
  12. FWIW - This morning I received the "Built" notice for my cancelled F250 Platinum. This truck was originally ordered in early November and includes 5th wheel prep and spray in bedliner. It did include Adaptive Steering but it looks like the dealer dropped it. Also, the window sticker shows the $300 credit for MULTI CONTOUR SEAT DELETE.
  13. Ford price protection goes through the dealer. No matter what the sticker price is the dealer's invoice price is locked in at order time. Dealers honoring price protection normally charge you based on their original invoice while they wait for Ford to refund them difference. Apparently some dealers will not (or cannot) "float" the difference and will send you a check after they get their check from Ford. My advice is to push back. I would not agree to them sending me a check unless it is in writing.
  14. I agree somewhat with your viewpoint but you are really just shifting the blame to the customer. "Buyer beware" is always in play but it still doesn't really address the issue of some dealers being lazy or incompetent. I doubt most people ask about communications and timelines. Most folks go to 1 or a 2 dealers and make a deal within a few days. The customer (and Ford) expects the dealer to be competent and not lazy. Lets say they do ask all of the right questions. What happens in when the dealer says everything you want to hear but fails to deliver on those promises? Even if it is in writing. Do you cancel your order, get your money back, and start over with another dealer? Now you're in the back of the line again or worse you have to wait for the next model year order bank to open. The customer gets punished and the dealer still gets the vehicle to sell .. .yes cancelled orders still get delivered and these days a vehicle on the lot can make them more money. So what should the customer do? In a perfect world this would never happen. Ford could (and might) make some changes to motivate bad dealers to do better. Maybe they will. Asking Ford to make the same accurate and timely information available to customers is not bailing the customer out. If anything, it is a bailout for the bad dealers.
  15. Same here unless the MY23 is a big compromise. .... assuming I get the MY22.
  16. I predict some will hate the changes, some will love the changes, most will be ok with the changes. I cannot imagine Ford changes much considering they still have supply issues.
  17. This is why customers need a way to get accurate and timely information directly from Ford. There are far too many lazy or incompetent dealerships.
  18. I believe the Super Duty order banks was closed on 4/1.
  19. "almost" - JK .. I have one on my 4Runner but I did pass on getting it on the SD.
  20. The same can be said that sunroofs won't leak if installed properly. I passed on that option too.
  21. I'm not saying you are wrong but I would think Ford would just make them standard if 95% if them are ordered with the lights. FWIW - I ordered without the lights. I don't like the look and don't want extra holes in the roof that could leak.
  22. FWIW - If Ford decides to fix pricing across all dealers then it is still a free capitalist market. Ford is the manufacturer and gets to decide how they want to compete in the market. In some industries the manufacturers enforce strict pricing policies and in some industries they leave pricing up to the retailers. Both have their pros and cons.
  23. I am pretty sure you do not actually have to take delivery. If you have a vehicle being built in your name then check with the sales manager at your dealership.
