  1. Hmmm.. in the wild it looks pretty boring. I remember enjoying the Auto shows pics alot more. (with the exception of that horrible rear end)
  2. Looks a thousand times better with the "Sport" front fascia then with the "Luxury". Funny how the "Luxury" looks cheaper!
  3. Those are not YTD numbers...those are just May's sales. These are YTD (ending May '07) 300 YTD = 51,199 Charger YTD = 54,443 Magnum YTD = 13,465 Total LX line YTD (3 vehicles) = 119,107 Crown Vic = 30,636 (Fleet only) Taurus / Five Hundred= 27,425 Grand Marquis = 27,327 Montego / Sable = 7,791 Town Car = 19,865 Taurus X / Freestyle = 17,321 Total of the Panther and Ford group D3 platforms YTD (6 vehicles 9 total nameplates)= 130,345 Apples to apples = If we are not counting Freestyle/Taurus X "Crossover" sales = 113,024
  4. I'm hoping that this post was a joke? 9 cars?
  5. Can't agree with you there that big sedans don't have to be stratospheric in price to be successful (a la "halo car"). The LX platform for three of the last six months had higher sales then any time period they have been on sale in the past three years. Any reduction of 300 sales has been due to and more then picked up by the "cheaper but still basically the same" Charger. Just last month the LX platform sold almost 28K units. Its third best month ever. There's a market for large RWD sedans. That being said, the Interceptor or the 427 would be a great addition if done right and priced right.
  6. I think the interior design looks classy. Not bad at all...man some of you guys are picky! I do agree though that there should be something in between the shifter and HVAC controls. Perhaps a cubby or door covered storage.
  7. Wow...can't say I agree with most any of the list CNET gave. (Except the Tribeca)
  8. There have been no exterior updates on the 300 yet.
  9. I had the same car ('83) in white with a 5 speed. One of my favorite vehicles I've ever owned. He was right, once the turbo kicked in, it was an incredible feeling. Sadly, it met the met the bumper of a stupid college kid who blew a red light and broadsided me in a snow storm in Lansing many years ago. I miss that car. It was perfect. I replaced it with a Black 1997 T-Bird 3.8L LX. It was not the same....though the '97 was great car as well.
  10. Not sure? Here's their three satellite's orbits. There's always two over the US. Even when I drive upstate in rural areas, I never have a problem with reception. As matter of fact, it gets all the better.
  11. Occasional dropouts, but living in the major NY area, there are so many repeaters, its not that often. Getting gas is the one time it almost always dies though.
  12. Just to bring this one back up. I've been driving the ZX2 for about 2-3 weeks now. I'm liking it. Its not getting the mileage you guys described though...its only getting around 30 mpg, which probably has to do alot with the bad traffic we've been having this past week (and intermittent AC usage) Funniest thing? I pulled out the registration today to make a photocopy (I have not put it in my name yet)...its not a 2001. Its a 1998. HAHA!!! The car is definitely not bad for being basically ten years old!
  13. HD Radio is digital radio broadcast alongside analog radio from traditional terrestrial markets. It is much better clarity then your traditional FM/AM stations. (Being advertised to bring AM stations up to FM quality and FM up to CD quality). It also allows stations to have multiple different streams being broadcast. The only disadvantage is that is stays local...it is not uninterrupted nationwide like satellite or for people who live in between two major cities. It also has commercials and is covered by the FCC censorship rules. But, if it catches on, it could do well as it can effectively quadruple the choices in stations, allowing for more niche stations a la satellite (can't do without my 80's Hair metal bands)
  14. I somewhat can relate with this statement...One of my vehicles has an in-dash 6 CD changer and the other has a single in dash CD player. I filled the 6 CD changer 2 years ago when I bought the car....and the same CDs are still in there, I never even listened to them. Though my reason is not because of MP3 players, I listen to satellite radio.
  15. Have they showed the rest of the truck? I'm assuming there will be an ext/int refresh as well?
  16. Oy..... This thread was doomed from the first post. Edit: Tpng errr
  17. For those that like to track the changes...here is last year's report: http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/news/rele...pdf/2006082.pdf
  18. Can't really see too much, I see a Crew and a SuperCab. Is the single cab still going to have the access door or are they canning that? I'd like to see they rear gate step in the 150 line as well. Awesome little extra.
  19. Close this thread or move it to an off-topic forum please.. It is so completely off the original subject that it might as well not even be in the "Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum".
  20. About time someone said this....I have never believed one post that anyone writes that in.
  21. I had the opportunity to check out an Acadia yesterday. VERY sharp vehicle.
