  1. Joe, how did you get the production day if no email? I too have a build week of 3/21 but the tracker has no update, doesn't show as in production and I have no update emails or new delays. My signature below has all my order date and subsequent delays. Did you ask cyberdman for details? Thanks in advance. 787Toolman
  2. Beautiful truck and color combination Rusty...If I hadn't selected Antimatter on my F350 KR, my second choice would have been Star White, then Rapid Red was third, but I would have selected all with stone gray lower trim. For some reason, Rapid Red has an orange tint in the light that didn't appeal to me, but I love my Ruby Red Platinum color. Sometimes I see the Rapid red and think I should have picked that with stone gray, but I usually go with my gut instinct or first impressions, they are usually right for me.
  3. OMG, this is terrible news...I remember back in 2008 or 2009 price of fuel was as high as I had ever seen, I think around $4/gal for gas and I had an F150 KR. If I remember correctly, we had another spike to around $4 like 2014 and that's when I purchased a PHEV which was a Ford Fusion. I was getting like 140 MPG with the PHEV on electric and like 77 MPG combined with electric and gas and like 45 MPG on straight gas. When prices got back down, I traded in the 2008 F150 KR and the Fusion for the 2017 F350 CCSB Platinum Diesel I'm driving now. This situation has to be the worst I've seen in my lifetime but stopping using Russian oil is more than what is causing this.
  4. I filled up yesterday at BJs for $4.66 for diesel and I thought that was highway robbery, man this is getting to be a serious national problem that if we don't fix it will have a devastating effect on everything we buy or sell. This is a hidden tax that affects everyone. I predict Ford will increase delivery charge from $1695 to something higher very soon. If I had to pay $5.99 for diesel, I'd be very unhappy so I feel for those that are paying that much or more, totally unnecessary IMHO.
  5. Dangit Elevator, you are always one step ahead of me and probably most, it never dawned on me to help Glenn with his excess cargo, the last thing we'd want is for Glenn to blow a tire or overload his new truck. I'm not a wine drinker but my wife is, if the ammo is 9mm or 5.56mm or .223, I can offer a drop off location too. Glenn, just kidding man, Elevator is a funny man and I love that so I couldn't resist to play along, I love good humor, it's important to a good quality of life IMHO.
  6. Alex, I did order adaptive cruise as I've never heard of that option causing a delay, I really like that safety feature. Adaptive steering has been on the list of options that cause a significant delay, I was told AS will add a 29 week delay so I dropped it along with spray in bed liner and 5th wheel prep. I copied and rotated pic below. This blue is a very dark midnight blue, I have been so fixated on it waiting for mine to be delivered that I now look for every car or truck that has it or something almost the same. Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, are just a few brands I've seen with either the exact same color or something so close I couldn't tell the difference. Ford may be late to the game on using this color but I'm guessing. I've been thinking about this color so much, it has consumed me and I almost want to rename it to Mystery Blue, Black Blue, Blue Black, Black and Blue, or something but Antimatter Blue is a cool and appropriate name too but since no one can see Antimatter, no one knows what it looks like, haha.
  7. Hello Alex, I have almost the exact same build except I ordered an F350 CCSB 160" wheelbase, vinyl flooring, console safe, 11,400 GVWR, Heavy Front Suspension, PTO Provisions, 3.55 axle ratio, maybe one or two other little differences but I dropped the spray in bed liner, Adaptive Steering and 5th wheel prep and I didn't look back. I can get the spray in bed liner at local LineX dealer, I can install the 5th wheel prep myself and the adaptive steering is not critical I hope but my 2017 Platinum has it so I hope I won't be disappointed, but I see it's a rare option anyhow. I ordered on Dec, 7th before the base price went up $1295, mine is scheduled to be built on week of 3/21 and I've had 5 schedule bumps totaling 6 weeks. Good luck...BTW, the pictures on Ford's site of Antimatter Blue are no where close to how beautiful it looks in real life, the color on their site is not even close, might even be Blue Jeans color they discontinued. 787Toolman
  8. Yeah, I understand akirby, I will do better at refraining. It's just hard to do when we all see and feel our country and fellow citizens suffer due to politics or stupid leadership.
  9. See below from 2022 Towing Guide. You may already know or have seen all this but in case you haven't, this may help clear up what Ford recommends on trailer weight percentage for conventional and 5th wheel and goose neck tongue weights. Looks like 15% is recommended for 5th wheel and goose neck tongue weight but it also says to not exceed the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) which might be a lot more than 15% for a trailer that is not at maximum weight. Good luck, I'm not a 5th wheel or goose neck expert but I do some conventional towing up to about 13K trailer weight and I try to keep my tongue weight between 10%-15% but it's much more important since the load is not right over the axle, creates a sizable moment around the rear axle which can lift the front end too much which is dangerous for steering and braking.
  10. If this fuel price increase doesn't end soon, we are all going to be in a world of hurt unless you're rich. I assume prices in California are about $1.50 -$2 more than rest of the country due to state taxes on fuel, or is it something else?
  11. That's tight, I've not heard that one before, lol. I have heard tighter than a tick on a hound dog's a$$ or tighter than Dick's hat band. Two coats of paint are very close to atomic closeness. It's amazing how a conversation can go off on a tangent or devolve into something completely unrelated, but I was game to play along, we need to have good clean fun and laugh when we can, life is too short too be too serious.
  12. So is this a picture showing where paint coverage is incomplete or something else?
  13. Apparently, the wench has never been used so...you can fill in the blanks...
  14. Good observation waloud, I didn't notice the clamp does look like it's partially too far to the left and not completely on the hose, squeezing the clamp open and shifting to the right and more onto the hose can't hurt and if a pressure test failed due to a leak, you'd see it drip right at this spot if clamp wasn't sealing as well as it should.
  15. I have the OBDII ELM327 auto switch, and cable and I downloaded the free FORScan software but haven't paid and downloaded the advanced version yet. I have not tried to change anything yet and first change will be invoking Bambi mode.
  16. Josh, if you don't have time to take it in to dealer, and you have a coolant pressure tester and are inclined, you can pressurize the coolant system and see if it can hold pressure. If the pressure bleeds down, you should see a leak somewhere. Burning antifreeze on a hot engine has a distinct smell unlike anything else I have ever smelled so if that is what you smell and that hose is a coolant hose, that may be the issue. My 2017 6.7L has a smell on occasion but it comes from the rear, and I think it's when the soot is being burned off during the diesel particulate is being scrubbed and the catalytic muffler gets very hot. However, since your truck has almost no miles, I doubt its's the catalytic muffler scrubbing soot. Of course, the dealer can fix if you don't want to diagnose yourself. Sometimes coolant leaks will seal themselves if very minor as the dried coolant will act almost like glue and seal off very a minor leak. Good luck and let us know what you discover, my new truck, when it comes in, may experience the same thing since I too have the 6.7L diesel. 787Toolman
  17. Nice looking truck Elevator, I didn't realize your truck was long bed until I saw this picture. Do you have to take to the airport to turn it around? haha...That's some dark front window tint, is that 35% or less?
  18. Sox3, that is a beautiful truck, congratulations. I have the same color combo and KR build F350 with 6.7L on order except I didn't opt for the chrome package so mirror caps and door handles are body color and the wheels have the honeycomb like shape with painted pockets like the pictures in my signature. Mine is scheduled to be built week of 3/21 after 5 bumps totaling six weeks of delays. That Antimatter blue has been on my mind ever since I ordered mine and I notice that color on many other cars and trucks across every possible brand you can name. There's a Nissan Frontier at my work that is the exact same color and is gorgeous to me but does have the same tendency to appear black at certain angles and lighting conditions. Good luck...&*&Toolman
  19. I won't be surprised if Ford adds a diesel surcharge to deliver trucks after assembly due to fuel prices going up as high as Jerry Nadler's pants. Ford charges $1695 for delivery but if fuel is doubled by the time my truck is delivered hopefully in a few weeks the freight will have to increase or someone will lose money. I can't sell my truck, I have a legitimate reason for owning a truck that can tow a trailer, but I could get an EV or PHEV as a daily driver but then when battery dies from too many charging cycles, I'll have to get my wallet out and hand over the same money as the fuel costs would have been. Finally, once more of us get hooked on EV's and the electricity that fuels them, they will raise the cost of electricity as we will be beholden to the power companies and have little choice but to pay.
  20. The few sources I found say all of the oil flowing thru the Keystone pipeline comes from Canada to USA, not the other way around. Can you share where your info comes from that only 5% of Keystone oil will come to USA? I read another article where the Canadian oil company TC Energy says they will not finish Keystone pipeline now, they have been jerked around so many times they're moving on. TC Energy will not revive Keystone XL oil pipeline project | BOE Report Gas and diesel prices were already going up before Russia invaded Ukraine and every penny of increase before and after Is because of the stupidity of Joe Biden and his green energy nut jobs in power that think electricity is PFM plus Joe Biden's feckless and idiotic foreign policy that could get us all killed if Putin launches nukes because he smells weakness like a shark with blood. God help us all...
  21. I guess this is why many golf carts run with 6V batteries in various combinations of series and parallel to get desired voltage and Ah capacity?
  22. I called Greentec and the battery on their website from the link you provided is for a standard hybrid 1.4 kwh, the PHEV for Energi at 9kwh is $3800 for 18mo warranty and $4500 for 36mo warranty. He said the PHEV battery should be a lot more but they discount it due to what the market will bare. The Volt battery at 13kwh is $7500 for 18mo and $10k for 36 mo. Maybe you can share your research? I'm sure Ford wants a small fortune for a new PHEV battery for a Fusion Energi.
  23. Wow, well it's hard for me to complain at $4.45 for diesel, was $4.35 on Sunday, went up $.10 overnight.
