  1. Does anybody have a guess of how many 2022 Super Duty trucks are still on order? I still have about 60 in front of me at my dealer and they see 2-10 a month delivered. At 2 per month, it will be 2.5 years until mine would show up. Order a 2022 and maybe get a 2024 after placing two more orders and going to the back of the line. Even at 10 per month it would be another 6 months left to wait - several months after they start the 2023 model year. The last new vehicle I ordered took 8 weeks from order to my driveway. The factory messed up the two tone paint but I kept it and had the only one like it in the country! Thanks
  2. Coming up on two months since order. Dealer said I am in the last third of their Super Duty orders awaiting building. At my first inquiry I was 84/120 and they said they get from 2-10 trucks per month. At this rate It will be Christmas for me (10 months) at the earliest. Most likely the order will be cancelled as the MY 2023 starts. I see that orders for 5/9/22 are being scheduled this week, which is progress from two weeks ago. When you get a few moments and again thanks and no rush could you recheck this? Dealer Sales Code F56020 Order # H123 Order received 2/23/22 2022 F-250 Lariate Ultimate, etc.
  3. We can probably figure this out if someone can measure from the ground to the top of the receiver socket on a F-250 4x4 truck. This will give me an idea of what I have to do to move from my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins to the new truck (if it ever gets built). Anyone can take a measurement? Thanks
  4. Most break in procedures for engine powered vehicles emphasize varying speed and load. Don't just jump in, set the cruise control, and drive for a few hours. We had a 25 foot boat and they wanted 20 hours of varied speed and load. Idle to warm up, half throttle for 15 minutes, full throttle for 15 minutes, back to slower speeds etc. Boat engines run 100% power for hours at a time. Trucks might do it for a few minutes and then part throttle for hour. My truck is on order with no movement yet, but my old truck has a home as soon as the new one arrives. My trailer is about 5000# and all the camping is at least 4000 feet higher in elevation so we will be gently pulling the hills at reduced speed, varying engine speed and load so we can use it. An earlier post about Cummins engines is true. My current truck has a Cummins engine and has 200,000 miles on it without even a water pump change. I did do a injector pump change due to a internal computer failure but that is about it. Still running strong. Most new diesels want a hard pull often to allow regeneration of the pollution filters, city driving really plugs them up. Your mileage may vary
  5. Is there a significance of a Red bar with "No Scheduling" or a blue bar with "No Scheduling"? What I was looking at was a red bar that really stands out for a reason. Thanks
  6. So am I wrong in concluding if you don't have a scheduling date as today, it won't be scheduled. There is a red bar on Super Duty trucks that reads No Scheduling.
  7. Look at Renegadecovers dot com out of North Salt Lake. Strong enough to park an ATV or a mule on top. Lots of options for tiedowns, racks etc.
  8. First: Thank you for providing this service. I am still waiting for a copy of my signed service order from my dealer. I will call them again this week. The order for my truck was placed on February 19, 2022 and I got an email from Ford stating the order was received. This was 6 weeks ago and I want to know that Ford is not missing anything on this order. No rush on this request, do it when you can. Remember Family First. Thanks Dealer Sales Code F56020 Order # H123
  9. StevenNC Congrats on your truck. We have the same dealer and I ordered a month after you but like most, have received nothing other than the order was received. I truly believe there is no order in the order/build process. I was told a few weeks ago that I was 84/120 in the order queue - not a great position to be in, but when I see experiences like yours, it gives me hope. Enjoy that new truck!

Welcome Fred. The waits kills some more than others. I see trucks delivered in 3 months and some that haven't event started the build process after 8 months. I am not sure all the stars that have to line up to get a quick delivery but I think I read that the backorder on Super Duty trucks is about 280,000. They can build about 90 trucks per hour if both plants are operating at capacity - much less if there are parts shortages. If everything were equal this is about 130 twenty four hour days to get rid of the backlog. A long time, in any case. Take time to prowl around and there are some really good folks here and lots of good information.

Welcome Chris. One good thing is that you can get quicker delivery from the plant than I can here in Utah. I have owned the following Ford products: 1973 Ford Maverick Grabber, 1966 Ford F-250, 1978 Ford F-250, 1980 Ford F-350. The 1966 was new to my Dad and I bought it from him, wish I still had it but it would not do what my ordered Ford will. I also owned a Mustang II fastback that I loved. Lots of good stuff here to browse and some really nice and helpful folks that can help.
  12. Your bio reads a lot like mine. My Dad taught welding at the college for about 30 years and some of it rubbed off on his kids and a few grandkids. Unlike most places in this country, dirt is really expensive here in Utah. The government owns about 70% of the state second only to Nevada. It is kind of cool that I have grandkids now hunting upland and big game now. I get to walk around and cook dinners on hunting trips now. Welcome to the forum. There are lots of people here that are willing to help and advise and no end to content you can browse while waiting for any good news from Ford.
  13. My garage isn't big enough for the truck. My home was built in 1956 and cars were much smaller then. I am going to mount my HF band antenna on an extension to the side from the hitch receiver. I built one for a friend's 2022 he got in December. I think my VHF antenna may have to be a lip mount or mounted on the driver's side front of the bed. My Dodge RAM uses a hood lip mount for the antenna. I am going to have to think of a way I can use a magnetic mount antenna on this aluminum truck. It might be a thin plate of steel clamped to the bed. Thanks for your suggestions on how to mount lights using a light to do this.
  14. 2005Explorer: I saw a hundred empty rail cars headed East in Wyoming last week. So maybe there is hope?
  15. I saw something interesting on a YouTube video of a 2022 F250 demo ride. The person making the video showed the window sticker listing the equipment and the camera slipped for about 2 seconds and I saw the Additional Dealer Markup of $10,000. It was a dealer in my home state --- oops.
  16. I was warned not to order the factory liner when opening my order. I have looked at a couple of locally owned liner companies and have not yet decided what to do. A bigger problem is that I don't have a scheduled date for the new truck. On my 23 year old Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins I had a bed rug. This is a custom formed carpet and foam liner that fit perfectly all of the nooks and crannies of the bed. It also bridged the tailgate gap so no dust could get in. I would do it again as long as you are not putting a lot of heavy gear or things that would compress the foam. So I guess I have three options I am look at. Keep up the discussion as I will be following this.
  17. Same thing for me. My order was entered on February 17, 2022 and was confirmed by an email a couple days later from Ford. I created a ford.com account and they have no record of my order. Ford is a big company and it is apparent that not all the systems are integrated with the order system. There are some great people in these forums that can look up information. It is too bad that we can't do the same. So I sit and wait and read a lot on this forum.
  18. My vehicle was ordered on February 17, 2022 and I got the email, after the dealer corrected my email address on the order to Ford, stating the order was received. I built a ford.com account yesterday and did not find the order linked to it. I used the same email address for the order as I did when setting up the ford.com account. So, there must be something else to connect the two things together. There must be some magic in the scheduling of production as I see trucks scheduled in a month after the order was placed and others are not scheduled after 8 months following ordering. Having said this, I like to read the experiences of buyers to see that orders are filled faster than 6 months. All I have right now is a dealer number and an order number. They didn't give me a copy of the signed order but I have requested that to be sent to me. Thanks to so many who moderate, contribute, and advise.
  19. I would agree. I just requested a copy of my signed order from the dealer. I never got one when I ordered the truck 5 weeks ago, they gave me some kind of worksheet with the features and options and the various plan prices at the bottom. Could be important come delivery and switch to MY23, if that happens. I am finding lots of stuff to browse while I wait and wait some more. I am a Ham radio operator and I wonder how folks are mounting antennas to these aluminum trucks. You just can't plop a mag mount antenna on the roof anymore.
  20. I am in the Salt Lake City area driving my 1999 Dodge Ram Cummins diesel while waiting for my truck to be built. Fuel prices are $5.15/gallon at the major stations but $4.89 at Costco. At this rate you could pay for the membership in a few fill ups. I remember too well that when the first Gulf War started, gas jumped to over a dollar a gallon. We see no foreign crude oil in Utah and it all comes from the oil fields in Wyoming and Utah via truck and pipeline yet we have some of the highest fuel prices in the nation. The refineries here produce fuel and pump it as far away as Las Vegas and Boise Idaho via pipeline. Oh, my next truck is going back to a Godzilla after having two diesel trucks previously. I loved the trucks and the economy I got (and torque to pass cars going uphill) but the price difference is crazy. Even the fuel tax is much higher on diesel. I guess by 6000# pickup is ripping up the highways? Hang in there, the pendulum swings both ways and never stops at the center.
  21. Nice news. There are ways to track your truck including shipment but I haven't learned how to do that yet. Not much youI can do without a VIN
  22. I did sign a sales order so I think I will be OK. I ordered from Larry Miller Ford in Salt Lake City. My friend bought his truck through Larry Miller Ford in Sandy
  23. Regarding the X plan order. I got an order listing MSRP for the truck and options and it had listed the A/Z plan price, D plan price, and the X plan price. The sales rep said he didn't need my x plan information until I pickup the truck. The plan I am a part of is a very large buyer of vehicles (thousands per year) so I can assume that the dealer won't want to lose them as a customer, but you ask a good question. I think the dealer would be in some legal trouble if they took the order, gave me a price and didn't honor the plan at delivery. Back to more site browsing. Thanks for the reply. When I bought a Chevy Suburban years ago under their form of X-plan, it was 8 weeks from order to delivery but then it probably only had two computers in it not the dozens the new vehicles have.
  24. I did and they said it wouldn't be fair to the 83 people in front of me. From what I have read after a couple months on not being scheduled you can ask the dealer/Ford regional rep to kick it to a priority much higher. I have a friend that ordered a f-250 Lariat last August and took delivery just before Christmas. He had to delete the bed liner, adaptive steering, and tonneau cover to get things moving. I left those items off my order knowing that the would hold up the order. I would be all over the dealer for 8 months without a truck. Don't be afraid to go up the food chain to get an answer.
