  1. We at AAP were #3 nationwide, first in the Ford system...and it didn't do us a bit of good, We still got the axe. Have a good one(A bit bitter)
  2. Maybe I have a warped sense of humor, but the constant back and forth of Dark and Trim is enertaining in the creativity of the insult. For all we know Trim and Dark are good friends that are having a good time doing this. Y'all have a good one
  3. Unless the chairman moves him/her to another district then chances are he/she will be reelected. We had some really bad committeepeople here, but they got reelected even though people from their district didn't vote for them, other people did vote for them name recognition helps. Y'all have a good one
  4. LOLROFLMAO *Wow, that one is creative* And seing Darks posting in the past, I'm sure his rebuttal will also be noteworthy. Y'all have a good one
  5. Kyoto basically cripples the Weatern based societies with onerous restrictions and limitations while gives the power houses of India and China and the rest of the world a free pass. If Kyoto was enacted, you think jobs are leaving the U.S. now for China? it would be a torrent rather than a flood. That is why it was never passed.
  6. IMA is a good guy and his heart is in the right place so cut him some slack. I have spoken with IMA over the course of several years and he tries real hard to bring pertinant info to the boards. I consider him a class act. Y'all have a good one
  7. Leisha, Go to www.mysporttrac.com We are a bunch of Sport trac owners, the site has been there since the 2001 Trac Job 1. I have been there since mid 2001. There is a bunch of info and good stuff there. have a good one Bob
  8. Troll................ <_< Same old crap, blame Ford....while the imports get a pass. Toyota builds a lot of gas guzzlers, look at the Sequoia and the Tundra. They sell a lot of them. Nissan, has the Titan and the Armada, quite a few of them on the road also. our CAFE is lower because we build a lot of trucks, including F250,F350, and the larger units. We build what the customer wants, this ain't a centralized economy, the consumer decides, and a lot of them like trucks. So we build Trucks. Supply and demand, when the demands for trucks die, then Ford will build a lot of what else the comsumer wants. Have a good one
  9. I had talked to some of the people that tow cars for a living and they like to use a flatbed because it causes no damage to a car while transporting, whereas the older chain&strap would damage componants under the car. Most towing and recovery companies have gone over to flatbeds for that reason so to see a car towed on a flatbed can be for a myriad of reasons from broke, out of gas, flat and no spare, ete, ete. 10. If you want a Taurus, you can special order one from the dealer. I had talked to some of the people at Allen Vigil(southlake) Ford, and they told me that if a person wants a Taurus, they can special order one. Since they deal with a lot of fleet vehicles, ordering an extra Taurus in the order isn't difficult. Have a good one
  11. I have heard the same thing, the Vendors wouldn't support the car build after October. It going longer would be good to make max use of ETAP. Oh Well a bit is better then none. Y'all have a good one
  12. Concur.......I will have a bunch of mixed emotions when the last car runs through my job and I face the fact that my job is pretty much history. The future for all of us is kinda bleak. I keep thinking that the old'timers and Ford made it through the bad old days of the early 80's when FoMoCo was fixing to go belly up. But Ford survived due to the fact of the New Taurus and the Panther bodies started Ford on the comeback trail. I'm hoping that it will happen again. Have a good one
  13. AAP still gives Tours. Mostly to school groups though. Have a good one
  14. Yep, as long as you get the info that you need to give them a pin. I will be getting a X-plan pin in a couple of years from now when the wife's Freestyle is paid for and the new Sport Tracs are coming out. Since I won't be working for Ford anymore I can't use A plan, but I will get an X plan though. I have bought Fords all my life, all have been good, even though I'm losing my job, I will still buy them. I bought them before I worked at Ford, and I will still buy them when I have another job. Y'all have a good one
  15. Probably an Escalade or a Yukon........ <_< Actually that ain't so bad, others at the plant buy new Jap cars. Y'all have a good one
  16. My supervisor came up to me while I was working and asked me "are you coming in to work tomorrow or next week?" I looked surprised and replied"are we off or something?' he stated that there is a fear of people laying out on friday and they want to see how many people are coming in. I then told him"all Ford will do is ask dayshift to pull a double" I then continued"factor all the slackers laying out on Forday and you will be pretty close to being right" As I continued my job I made a joke" like a slacker is going to tell you that they are going to lay out <_< Y'all have a good one
  17.     Have a good one
  18. I think they all are on medical <_< , that is why they ain't replying. Have a good one
  19. Unfortunately, those plants won't hire us, as far as they are concerned, we are *tainted* by the UAW and they believe that we would try to organize their workforce.*snort* We have Hyundai fixing to build a new plant near LaGrange GA. Honda has a tranny plant here in Ga also. I've been a Ford man all my life, even before I started working for them. The though of working for the competition just don't set right with me. I'll just find something else to do, perhaps a few police dept are hiring Y'all have a good one
  20. From what I heard, here are the shutdown times: SLAP March 8 or 11, 2006 depending on builds. AAP Aug 31,2006 Wixam November 2006, exact date not known yet. Subject to change. It sucks for all of us
  21. Macnamara and Iacocca came from the 60's, Iacocca is believed to be the father of the Mustang, I don't agree with that assessment, but that is the popular lore. Mcnamara also showed up in the 60's, He was with Ford a short time before he was hired away from Ford to be Sec of Defence during the Vietnam era. Hank the Deuce was behind the 49 Ford. he took over from Henry Ford in 1944 when the Gov't had real doubts about HenryFord and Ford Motor Company, and since this was wartime, and Ford was building B-24's in Willow run along with all the other Ford facilities building war material they were able to use Hank the Deuce to basically force HenryFord out. Hank the Deuce was a Lt in the navy during that time and Henry Ford was believed to be suffering with dementia. so in the interest of the country, Hank the Deuce took over Ford Motor Company. Y'all have a good one
