FYI... 2019 Lincoln Navigator "Order Bank Open Date" changed to 07/26/2018. Scheduling begins 08/16/2018 with Job #1 Date 10/15/2018.

Retail 2019 Edge orders will not be scheduled until after the "OK to Buy" status is reached, normally 4-6 weeks after the Job #1 Date.

The MagneRide suspension option has always been a controlled commodity option with very limited availability.

The customers that place factory orders are those that know the exact specifications they want, can't find a matching vehicle in stock and don't mind waiting to get the vehicle they require from the factory. I'd say that it's actually 10% or less for customers placing factory orders.

Yeah but trying to get a Platinum for stock is virtually impossible!

Ford employees and Dealers have 24/7 access to Ford's Vehicle Visibility program which provides all information on vehicle order status including scheduling, production and shipping information updates. It's updated any time there's a status update and is the most accurate and reliable source for vehicle order information and updates. It gives the vehicle VIN number when the order is scheduled, provides all the scheduling information including the dealership ETA along with the shipping information once the vehicle is produced and released from the plant. Once the vehicle is released for shipment, it even provides information on the rail carrier, the rail car number, location updates throughout the shipping process, arrival at the final rail ramp destination, etc. Most Sales Representatives don't even know about the Vehicle Visibility reporting system and unfortunately the same is true with the Sales Managers at some dealerships. If you're talking to your dealership, you need to talk to the person that manages their vehicle orders. If they can't give you the information you require it's an indication of the dealership's competency regarding vehicle order management, etc. Should you need additional assistance with tracking updates for your order, there are several BOF members here that can assist you if you provide the VIN number.

Ford is taking Hybrid and PHEV systems mainstream with applications across the majority of models in the not too distant future. No question that GM's and Dodge/RAM pickups have improved in recent years. But just when the competition thinks they've caught up, Ford leapfrogs them all with new features and technology. And Ford customers are more than willing to pay Ford's prices, with lower incentives than the competition, driving ATP's and profits even higher. There's a reason why Ford F-Series have dominated the pickup market for 41 years!
