  1. All this speculation about the next generation 2015 Mustang and the additional engineering required in order to sell it on a global basis. Ford has made big mistakes in the past with other models but they've always been very careful with both respecting and understanding the Mustang's iconic history in the industry. For the first time they're going to take the car global and they're not going to mess it up. While the market in Europe is important, that's only part of the new global market for the next generation Mustang. They understand and respect that the next generation has to be true to the Mustang heritage in styling clues and performance but still be attractive on a global basis in order to meet the demands of the global market regarding engineering, safety and fuel economy. With the all-new Mustang due to go into production in less than a year now you can be sure that all but the most minor elements are all locked in now. It's just a matter now of what information chooses to leak to the press until the car is unveiled at a future car show. Any discussion now is just speculation but as much fun as it is... that's all it is. The only prize is the initial reveal of the all-new Mustang when Ford decides to do so!
  2. Dealers never know about the new incentives until Ford releases the updates via the FMCDealer.com communications portal.
  3. Far, far too many messages being posted complaining about someone that is spending his own time tracking vehicle status for too many enthusiastic customers that seem to be more self-centered on what they want instead of considering that someone is doing his best to provide the information they want with some basic rules in place. Instead of spending so much time complaining here about your Dealership's Sales Representative not providing the information you want... contact the Sales Manager directly. If the Sales Manager can't provide the information, go up the ladder to the General Manager and then to the Dealer Principal if necessary. If at any point you're told that they don't know, can't get the information you requested or tell you that they don't know what a "Vehicle Visibility" report is, contact Ford directly and file a complaint. The "Vehicle Visibility" report feature has been active for several years now and there is absolutely NO excuse for any Dealer to NOT be aware of it or know how to access it. Believe me, I know, as I run a "Vehicle Visibility" report every morning, 6 days a week, that is distributed each day to our General Manager, Sales Manager, Finance Manager, Executive Sales Assistant & BDC Manager. As such, they all know each morning the latest status of every Retail and Fleet order!
  4. Ruby Red is available for scheduling for "Retail" orders only.
  5. The "Unscheduled/Clean" status on the Daily Status Reports is only in reference to the order complying with the order guide requirements. The CONCEPS ordering system generates error notices and recommendations to help make sure that dealers place vehicle orders that are clean and buildable per the Order Guide. The commodity issues change on a weekly basis which is why Ford generates the weekly "Commodity & Constraints Letter" along with the "SIMS Reports" to provide dealers with the information they need in order to maximize vehicle scheduling. It's not easy and it takes a bit of time to keep track of all the commodity issues and at times it's more than a bit frustrating.
  6. The regular status reports will report "Unscheduled/Clean" as long as it's a clean, buildable order. This has nothing to do with the weekly commodity restraints. However, on a weekly basis Dealers have access to both SIMS (Smart Inventory Management System) and the AM Preview Report which is issued on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to give Dealers information on the vehicles that are "flagged" for scheduling on Thursday morning which is when most scheduling is done. The AM Preview Report also includes information on all vehicles that will not be selected for scheduling that week along with all the reasons why.
  7. From what I understand, in many states the dealership cannot charge you for it, even if they've already done the etching, unless you agree to pay for it. If the dealer insists, go find another dealer.
  8. Dealer do not "call" Ford with changes to "Retail" orders. All changes to vehicle orders... stock, retail, fleet, special plan, etc... are always submitted via the Ford CONCEPS ordering program. If the order is already scheduled the spec change is submitted pending plant processing. The ordering Dealer will then receive an updated DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) the following day showing that the submitted AVO (Alter Vehicle Order) changes have been processed and accepted.
  9. There is NO commodity constraint with Ruby Red. It is available! FUSION – Commodities will vary by dealer On March 21 – Scheduling Unscheduled Allocation in Week 12 Ginger Ale paint (JY) will not be selected for scheduling. This paint has balanced out. Only retail orders with Ruby Red paint (RR) will be eligible to schedule this week. Fusion Titanium Hybrid orders (P0R), retail or stock, are now eligible for scheduling. Retail Fusion Energi Scheduling The Okay to Buy has been achieved for Fusion Energi PHEV orders (P0P or P0S). Retail orders are now eligible to schedule. Please consider ordering the optional 18” Gloss Black Aluminum Wheel (64M) when ordering an SE with 205B. 10. The VIN number is assigned when the order is "Submitted to Plant" for scheduling. Spec changes can be made until about 2 weeks prior to the build date when the order status is "Locked In" for production. As a rule of thumb, every change to the order, once it's scheduled, pushes back the build date a week. In addition, orders scheduled during the 2 month "Balance Out" period are normally "locked in" as soon as the unit is scheduled. Further, not all commodities (options, etc.) may be available for scheduling as scheduling gets closer to the "Job Last" date.
  11. I certainly recognize the enthusiasm expressed by the members in these forums and the excited anticipation of taking delivery of their all-new 2013 Fusions!
  12. After 27 years of managing customer factory orders, I understand the passion that many of you have regarding your Fusion orders but you need to RELAX. All the drama over who got their window stickers and who's car is actually "in production" is a bit much. VIN numbers are generated as soon as the order is "Submitted to the Plant" and is not the same as when the ordering dealer places your order. The "Submitted to Plant" status is when the order is initially scheduled and the VIN number is generated at the same time. About a week later, or less, the order will display a "Scheduled" status along with information on the week that the vehicle is scheduled to be built. Shortly after, this information is updated with an actual scheduled build date. The "Vehicle Visibility" program will show the "In Production" status as soon as the vehicle actually starts the assembly process. Afterwards, status reports will show "Produced", "Released", "On Rail Car", "In Transit" and a number of other status notes that your dealer will know. Window stickers and invoices are generated at the time the vehicle actually enters the production phase. The window stickers become available online and the vehicle invoices are sent to the ordering dealer. Should customers be able to track their own factory orders? Of course. Should your Dealer be able to provide you with the order status information you want? Your Dealer already has access to the information you want. I'm not sure what if anything to add here as I think that my message above provides the basics. Hope that this message helps.
  13. Far, far too much speculation as to Ford of Europe's involvement for the next generation Mustang. The only thing that matters is the final design and how well it represents Mustang for a global presence.
  14. Dealers don't have the option of adding customer names to window stickers. That's done by Ford on "plan" type orders... X Plan, etc.

  16. Sorry but the Fusion is NOT going to share the Mustang line at the Flat Rock plant. The Mustang is built on its own line while the Fusion will be built on the 2nd assembly line at the plant that is being retooled for Fusion production after being used previously for Mazda.
  17. It never made sense to me that the top-of-the-line 2013 Escape Titanium only had partial leather and that you had to pay $800 extra to get full leather while the full leather was included on the SEL series. Add in the additional features standard on the Titanium series and I was being very careful in ordering SEL's that were too close to Titanium Escapes price wise.

  21. Just a few random thoughts to share about this message thread in particular about all the enthusiasts that have joined BON over the years and contribute so much in the questions asked and information provided. I've managed the new vehicle inventory for 26 of the 27 years I've been here after spending a number of years in the entertainment business. I'm sometimes amused yet often frustrated when I read of the problems so many Ford enthusiasts have in getting even basic, or correct, information from their local dealers about the status of their factory retail orders. Among the general comments... My Dealer never calls me with updated information on my factory order When I call my Sales Representative, he doesn't know anything about my order status The Sales Manager doesn't know where you're getting your information when you seem to know more than he/she does. That's after you contacted the Sales Manager because you couldn't get answers from the Sales Representative that sold you the car! No one at the Dealership is familiar with what you're calling the "Vehicle Visibility" report The above experiences are just the first of many that frustrate me to no end as it's so different from the way my Dealership operates as I'll outline below. Our Dealership has a daily, morning managers meeting where all department managers are assembled to review every sale including financing status, vehicle status, additional work that the vehicle requires, delivery destination and transportation arrangements if appropriate, etc. Each manager gets a copy of the daily "Morning Sheet" that shows every vehicle sold but not delivered with the following information... Deal Date Customer Name Stock Number Vehicle Description Deposit Amount Status/Comments Section The same "Morning" sheet has a section including a list of all the retail and fleet factory orders and their most recent status that is updated on average twice a week. More important is the "Vehicle Visibility" report for all retail and fleet orders that I run every morning, 6 days a week, that is distributed to our General Manager, Sales Manager, Fleet Manager, Finance Manager & Executive Sales Assistant. In addition, I try to talk to the Sales Representatives directly to update them on the status of their customers' retail orders so that they can update their customers accordingly. At our Dealership, we try to "over communicate" so that everyone is on the same page. We don't always succeed and we're constantly looking for ways to do better. Over the past 5 years several of our direct competitors have gone out of business including one that closed after 75 years. Our service and parts business is about triple what it was a few years ago and our fleet business is probably 10 times what it was a few years ago. Our reward has been winning Ford's President's Award twice in the past 5 years. We're working extra hard this year to get the President's Award back! Sorry this has been long but wanted to share this information on how my Dealership operates in regard to customer retail orders, etc. I hope that this helps. Thanks!
  22. Ooooops! Sorry for posting the outdated pricing information! I just went back to FMCDealer.com and went digging further to get the most recent announcement that was released on February 28th which is attached!
