  1. I can see that you are from Ohio, so that narrows it down some. But there are still 6 plants or plant groups each with a different vote date. Best answer is to call your union hall.
  2. A move within a two hour drive may be possible. However you are going to seriously look at other alternatives. Start discussing these possibilities with you mate. With all of the job postings there were rumors a couple of weeks ahead of time that they were coming. You are not the first nor will you be the last one the have to make these decisions. Transfers have been happining for the last 25 to 30 years. It is unfortunate that people have to make these decisions but to stay employed by Ford you are going to have to make some tough decisions. Again, start the discussion with you mate on each possible location and what you are willing to do so that when you hve 3 days to make your decision it will be somewhat easier.
  3. If you are a Ford employee you have had chances to transfer out of Sandusky several times. The last two were Louisville & Chicago. Neither of which were completely filled. You MIGHT have options in the future BUT you might be given one choice of where to go. Sandusky is not sold but I would be very suprised if the sale does not go thru. It is, in my opinion, only a matter of time. When the union and FNG get a local contract setteled on everyting will happen very quickly. If you are an ACH employee you MIGHT have an option to transfer to a Ford plant under the proposed contract. Please explain how you are not being taken care of.
  4. The entry level employees @ ACH are NOT under the Ford / UAW national contract. They have a seperate cotract.
  5. Spring, you are correct. I was only listing "pay" lost not benefits.
  6. If memory serves me correctly, we did take a pay cut in the form of COLA, Performance Bonus, & Christmas Bonus.
  7. Not what you are thinking. Transfer of operations is transfer of ownership of operations ie. the sale of the plant from Ford Motor to Flex n Gate.
  8. Sale of the Sandusky plant is rumored to be 80% complete. Date of transfer of operations pushed back to September 01, 2011 (subject to further adjustment).
  9. Correct, 07/11/2011 4:00 pm local time.
  10. Zone 1 = Michigan West Side Zone 2 = Michigan East Side Zone 4 = Ohio Cleveland Area Zones are in volume 1 pages 215, 216, 217
  11. Postings up for: Production Place Time Frame # requested Chicago Assy. 12. Sandusky ACH has the following number of Ford employeees remaining (approx): Production = 280 Skilled = 141 Total = 421 Not all are looking to move to a Ford plant.
  13. They were still looking in depth as late as Wednesday (rolling stock of the plant) & Thursday mid day (IT). If they have pulled out it has been since then.
  14. Please track a 2012 Mustang V6: 1ZVBP8EM1C5231931
  15. My wife and I plan to order a new Mustang this year. We would love to be able to drive up to Flatrock and take delivery. If GM can figure it out Ford should be able to also even if it added a couple of hundered dollars to the price.
  16. Flex n gate is in the process of buying the lighting business AND the Sandusky plant. If the were not going to buy the facility I don't think they would be bringing in outside firms to inspect the main building and all outbuildings. I know they are inspecting the outbuildings as I watched them inspect one on Tuesday afternoon. RUMOR is that Ford has agreed to remove all non lighting business from the building. FACT is that a good chunk of the non lighting business at Sandusky was already scheduled to finish around the end of the year.
  17. Just posted EL openings for Chicago (31), Lima (3), & Louisville (18). 52 total most ASAP, Louisville July 11, 2011.
  18. Any news from the meeting between Flex-n-gate and the union today?
  19. Please post the packages offered to those interested in staying and working for the new owner.
  20. "Light blues" are loaned from one plant to another because there home plant has excess people. When there home plant needs people again the "light blues" must return to their home plant. In some cases they have transfered from one plant to another (ACH to Ford) and are loaned back to an ACH plant because the new home plant is having layoffs.
  21. They were here on Monday. One or more people from Flex-N-Gate will probably be most weeks from now till the deal is done or the deal falls thru.
  22. Donald Petersen in a speech in the early 1980's commented that Ford Motor did not want to build parts, but only to assemble vehicles. It has only taken about 30 years to make it happen This is about the same length of time it took to get the van production out of Lorain Assembly and over to Avon Lake. All van production was supposed to be in Avon Lake by the end of Christmas 1975 shutdown in early January 1976.
