Sharonville got some good news!!

Just came across all of our company pagers that Sharonville was awarded the 6R140 program!! :happy feet: :happy feet: The union also said all hourly personal for Ford will receive a 500 bonus they said this was to compensate for all the big bonus the salary personal was getting.

Not much just the whole farm!! Now tech are able to do our minor and preventive maintence work. We are basically going to dept. overtime. Our hands were tied behind are back there wasn't much you could do.

 

 

Can trades do tech work there yet? You know that is what it is coming to right? Continue taking more and more work from the trades until they agree to run production just to keep a job. Watch and see. It wont be long and trades will run machining, tech's will run assembly.

Did you guys ever get the second phase of the 6R60?

 

Nope. The first phase is on one shift making 800 a day. They have ran some F150 6R75/80 so thay may add a shift. Livonia hasnt got a GD thing since Ford tossed the tiny 6R crumbs our way.

And what part of the Farm did we give up? Most of what was in the new COA was already in current local and national agreements. Most machine & bore operators do the minor maintenance already. Show me a bore operator that doesnt change his own tools or a machine operator that doesnt get out jammed parts or put oil/lube into his machine. FN has been doing that for years.

 

We did give up the toilet cleaning jobs. We are outsourcing the powerhouse work to Duke Energy but not the workers. The powerhouse workers just wont be replaced with Ford workers, Duke will bring in their own as the Ford workers retire or take a buyout. Gage-Layout and Cutter-Grind workers will get a chance to bid their work in-house and show the company why its better to have them in-house.

 

We didnt give up the farm, we did have to give a few pigs though!

Over here at Batavia we have heard that your new COA for this transmission includes a swing shift. So you could be working an entire weekend with no overtime pay. How many jobs do you think are gone with this new COA with no Cutter Grind, Tool Room, Center Shop, Sweeper cleaners, etc. I am not knocking you just wanting to know. Thanks.

No swing shift. I dont know where you got that info. Cutter Grind & General Stores will bid their jobs against an outside contractor. Center shop isnt going anywhere. Sweeper cleaners and restroom cleaners will be bid to an outside company. A total of 40 jobs were given up for 600 jobs.

Is this gears/machining/assembly? makes sense to have Livonia make the 6R60 in a 50% empty plant and give this version of the 6R to Sharonville. :idea:

 

Ford is the worst run company on the planet.

 

The other alternative was Mexico, reportedly, that is where it was going before Sharonville was rewarded this transmission. Let's all just be thankful that at least one U.S. plant got a new product!

BTV to Shv please dont be fooled,stores will go to the bidder that cabn provide service for less than $12, that came from our management. They have been farming out work from the toolroom for over 2 years. mke no bones about it they want rid of as much UAW as possible.

My point was Ford scatters these jobs between 3 plants. Then they ship parts from one to the other while all three have the room to be making the parts inhouse. We wait on trucks from Sharonville all the time, stopping the line and many times getting sent home because our gears are made 5 hours away. Now they are getting a new 6R when we have 1.5 million sq feet not being used except for used cigarette butt storage and dead machinery scrap yards.

 

Congrats on the new jobs. But it pisses me off that Ford pits one plant against another for who gets what.

 

Livonia is a dead plant running.

Thats what they were telling us about the 6F midrange job. Sign the COA or the job is going to Mexico. It was all BS, as I am sure is the case this time too. The job was actually going to Sharonville. Van Dyke gave up more than Sharonville, so the job was pulled and given to Van Dyke. Wake up people. Signing some chicken shit COA is not going to sway a decision on whether or not to outsource to Mexico or China.
