mlhm5
"THE Australian automotive industry's future is in diesel power, according to Ford Australia president Tom Gorman." Link ...however in a different dimension "During an interview with Automotive News, Mark Fields, Ford’s U.S. division president, said that the automaker would not be offering diesels in any of its passenger cars in the near future." Link Maybe that has changed.

jpd80
Australia doesn't have strict emission rules against diesels. We have Euro 4 for Diesel and Petrol vehicles but our sulphur level is still about 50 PPM and won't be reduced until 2013-2015, so no US diesel emission standarsd before then. The Fiesta, Focus have diesels and Mondeo will join them by the end of the year. Falcon and Territiry will have diesel option by 2010.
