silvrsvt
The full-size Grand Marquis showed surprising sales strength with its '92 redesign, accounting for much of Mercury's increased overall volume through mid-decade. In fact, the newly aerodynamic "Big M" outpolled its Ford sister in '92 model-year production by some 10,000 units with a relatively amazing 163,000-plus. It then settled down to around 100,000 yearly sales except for 1993 (a bit over 90,000). http://auto.howstuffworks.com/mercury-cars15.htm Crown Vic Numbers 1992 Model Year (first year of new model) Production run: Oct. 1991 through Sept. 1992 Total number produced: 136,949 Total no. sold in U.S.: 90,804 1993 Model Year Production run: Oct.1992 through Sept. 1993 Total number produced: 106,849 Total no. sold in U.S.: 99,860 1994 Model Year Production run: Oct. 1993 through Sept. 1994 Total number produced: 111,221 Total no. sold in U.S.: 103,653 1995 Model Year Production run: Oct. 1994 through Sept. 1995 Total number produced: 103,189 Total no. sold in U.S.: 96,458 1996 Model Year Production run: Oct. 1995 through Sept. 1996 Total number produced: 109,787 Total no. sold in U.S.: 106,211 1997 Model Year Production run: Oct. 1996 through Oct. 1997 Total number produced: 138,270 Total no. sold in U.S.: 110,111 1998 Model Year Production run: Nov. 1997 through Sept. 1998 Total number produced: 85,374 Total no. sold in U.S.: 108,595 http://www.autotrader.com/research/car-rev...d&year=1999 going by nameplates alone, neither car sold that well in relation to other Ford products out at the same time....so there is part of the reason why they've been negitgticed over the years...
