68Cougar
I suggested a month or so ago that Mercury should go all hybrid. Not like they would lose any "traditional buyers" since there isn't any. Plus, Ford isn't really doing anything with the brand anyways. rmc523
That would be kind of cool. Or a green ring around the blue, more likely. I will forward to Ford customer care. That might be cool too. I'll work on a chop.
rmc523
I've been wanting them to do that for a long time, letters up front instead of the oval too.. You mean letters written across the hood? For Hybrid models or all/ a mix?
rmc523
See here: http://planetauto.homestead.com/chromeemblems.html Those are cool. I wonder what a White Chocolate Tri-Coat emblem would look like on an Expedition.

rmc523
I've been wanting them to do that for a long time, letters up front instead of the oval too.. What about writing HYBRID across the hood instead of Ford? Also, what if the Ford's Hybrid logo (the road/leaf thing) took the place of the Ford emblems on the wheels? I thought about replacing all Ford emblems, but you want customers to know Ford + Hybrid = Eco Friendly.

Roadrunner
I've been wanting them to do that for a long time, letters up front instead of the oval too.. Ford responded to me about making a green oval. They want the blue oval to be blue because it's so recognized: "Thank you for your suggestion we appreciate your comments regarding the Ford Oval. Although we recognize the need for change, it is our belief that the Oval is the second most recognized trademark in the world, by changing the Oval it appears we are embarrassed and seeking a way to hide from customers this is not the case. We take our identity and trademark very seriously and hope you too understand our need for consistency and recognition in this fierce global economy. Thank you so much for your continued support." Well, at least they responded. What do you think of the "green ring" blue oval? Maybe they'd consider that?

I really like the Green Ring oval and think if done right it would be an intelligent solution.

RichardJensen
They are right about the blue oval. The only logo more recognized is the Coca-Cola ribbon.

Thinking about it more, I agree with you (and them) that the oval should remain blue. What do you think about the green ring emblem, Richard? 68Cougar
So it was you that suggested it, I knew somebody did. Yeah, because Ford should do something with the brand. I figured, if Toyota can have one car that is hybrid only, why can't Ford have one brand that covers that niche. I would take it a a step further and say, sell Mercurys at Ford and Lincoln dealerships as the hybrid version of cars.
