The Truth at Lima
The way I understand it 3 UAW members from Cleveland were visiting Lima Engine Plant on a fact finding mission.....They were walking down the 3.5L crank line asking questions and comparing how IMT program and other things were being done in Lima versus Cleveland. The Crankline chief Dave Farley came and escorted them to an office. After a short meeting they were told they weren't welcome at Lima and showed the door and told not to come back...This happened last Friday Feb 22,2008...Why doesn't the Union step in and investigate this situation? LEP Production
If that is true it was the UNION in LIMA who asked the company to make them leave. That is what they are Company.
Pioneer
Why doesn't the Union step in and investigate this situation? Because they didn't belong there. All it would take is a phone call to get a visitors pass and tour by an official. Maybe they felt slighted.

Maybe they felt slighted. That makes alot of sense. I thought it was like an act of god to visit other plants..suprised they even got in. LEP Production
Wow I guess it did happen. cant believe they didnt have proper access. Then to be escorted out because people were asking them questions. Just shows how much they want IMTS in Lima. So they can screw the membership even more. ViperPilot
Just because you are a UAW member that doesn't give you carte blanche access to every plant in the Ford empire. As a matter of fact, you can get nailed for loitering even if you work at that plant and it's not your shift. The proper procedure is to get a visitor's pass -- that way they know you're not some gun-toting psycho that's looking for someone that cut them off on the highway. Where exactly did they agree to it ? It is not in their local contract. But besides all that, where was local 1219 union at to take them under their wing since we all are brothers and sisters? Lets hear from cep to get their version!

Doesn't sound like you are too much truth at Lima! 1st of all 2 of the vistors were salary and they weren't asking questions like that up and down the line. They were there to observe the crankline because it is identical to theirs. The team leaders are the ones who started asking them questions and got them fired up. And besides, we hear that chief Farley took you into his office to talk to you about this posting and you told him it wasn't you! Is that being truthful? Boy are you a peach! LEP Production
LEP and CEP were not even close to being the same. Union tried telling everyone just a couple of words were diffrent. They weren't even close. Lima wants Trades doing production jobs. Cleveland has trades supporting production Jobs. Big diffrence. VOTE no ON IMTS
