Does the company nurse stand next to him while he does his job? I'm sure their are those trying to beat that. I know of one who tried his best. 80+ / 50+ in @ Ford. He fell one day at work, had to have his hip replaced. When he came back, he sat at a bench for 2 years doing crosswords. After he took the first buyout, lived about a year. When he left he had been drawing his pension* for about 20 years, + S.S. + a pay cheque. Took the buyout monies to get him to go. Hope he is now enjoying all that money! ( * Yea, back around Raygun's time, a law was passed where you could keep working and still draw your pension, that didn't last too long.) Trimdingman
Does anyone want to. I don't I have decided along time ago to have a life. In Ontario, up until a few years ago, the mandatory retirement age at Ford was 65. The law changed, so people can't be forced out anymore. The top seniority at Oakville is 1963. If you go down the list about 5 names or so, you are at 1968.

We had a guy, not sure what his sen. date was, over 45 years. Union finally convinced him to take the buyout. Would forget where he set his paycheck, cell phone, WALLET!!! Would also wet himself when he fell asleep in a chair. Good thing he was a cleaner, could clean up after himself. Like working with your grandpa. On every restriction you could think of, plus a few more you haven't.

Bored of Pisteon
I think Sterling would be the all-time champion of old motherfuckers that had high seniority. I'm sure there are still some there that look like crypt keepers! Even though I'm no longer there. But it sure as hell seemed like it!
