soupy
The same old tired committments that should have been fulfilled already. Commit, then recommit, then think about it and commit again. Fuck you, the concessions given up in March financed the fucking plant in China. Ford made surprising $$ this quarter. Under the same agreement that they needed the modification to, talk about being fucking piggish. Get a fuckin grip Soppy or Soupy whatever it is, Hear this........the WORKING men and women of UAW Ford aren't giving another fucking inch for it to be used against us by the greedy bastards in the glass house. We willingly approved concessions in March in the spirit of helping Ford in a terrible time, they, you (management) kicked our teeth in with foriegn investment to take our work; in the spirit of killing a willing partner. NO MORE !!!! Go Fuck Yourself QUOTE (theunionisforever @ Oct 29 2009, 06:20 PM) If you want an example look at DTP. DTP voted against the last concessions, since then a third shift was announced and an new product (the single cab F-150) was added. Think about it... MTP is being renovated to assemble new Focus. Navigator and Exp production was set-up in KTP. The next generation Explorer will be assembled in CAP which in conjunction with new Taurus and MKS will probably add another shift. Livonia Trans is as we speak adding an expansion to already existing RWD trans. What about the already mentioned Sterling work? That's just what I know about. Are there other jobs? I don't believe for one second that Ford lived-up to all previous committements, but to ignore the jobs that the IUAW has negotiated for and delivered on is plain misleading, blind ignorance. Something many of you are very good at. Now the membership has spoken and I'm fine with that. You've spoke out against product committement which would have insured long-term job security. You've spoke out for the right to strike for higher wages. Is that your brand of solidarity; Fewer jobs for less members, but a dollar more per hour for those that work in plants that don't need new product at this time? To me the disgusting part of that is not that you are a foul-mouthed loser, but that you and others have mislead half the NO votes.

lquidspine
NO VOTERS showed GREED!!! Putting everyone back to work and saving your own job should have been your reason to VOTE YES and not even consider a no vote! Umm no Candy/Die/Grim rank and file members only echoed what Sub counsel expressed back in August. Next up proving even further what those members/chairmen expressed might happen if they brought more concessions to us at this point in time.....no new elected terms. Our leadership from IUAW on down to our chairmen had chances to stop this, and instead of being leaders when it mattered they chose to allow the Octomods to be put to a vote. A choice that not only gained sympathy once again for the poor struggling company, but they also reaffirmed public opinion that unions are destroying companies. Most can agree we do not expect huge wage and benefit increases if any come 2011 nether would we strike over that issue alone. However what they brought to us without being in the situation the other 2 where in was a slap in our faces, it shows how little the company and leadership acknowledges what we actually have given to help this company out. FiredMotorCompany
NO VOTERS showed GREED!!! Putting everyone back to work and saving your own job should have been your reason to VOTE YES and not even consider a no vote! As the proposed modification named it, our only "weapon" is a strike. And just because I didn't want to be disarmed does not mean I plan on holding up a bank or robbing the company. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." You cannot rightly accuse me of GREED. I voted for strength of the membership instead of personal gain. In my case, I will personally and immediately suffer for my vote because I listened to my conscience. And my conscience deemed it more important to protect all UAW/Ford members, including Entry Level, by ensuring we will have the power to protect them from abuse by the company, if and when, it becomes stronger and more profitable. I have no intention of destroying the company I have dedicated so many years to. You have every right to disagree with me, but I know I did what I felt and knew was the best for all of my brothers and sisters. Can you say the same thing? ETA: The site admins really need to IP ban certain people and *poof* all of their duals will disappear too. IP addresses won't do it. Cable modems and possibly DSL modems frequently rotate IP addresses. You have to pay extra for a static IP address. Plus, if Candy uses dial-up (does anybody still dial-up?) then every time Candy signed online, the IP address would be associated with a different modem, very random. There are other IP address spoofing tricks, also.

Bro you do realize the IUAW was put in a no win situation. First Scenario: The IUAW tells Ford that they aren’t willing to listen to what the company has to say and that there will be no more opening of the contract. Ok well that all sounds good, right? Well lets Ford “leaks” to the press how the UAW is unwilling to cooperate blah blah blah. End result everyone hates the UAW, as per usual. Now in this scenario should any facility lose a possible future product, you can be dammed sure that everyone and their brother would be bitching about not at least being given the opportunity to see what the company had to offer. Second Scenario: The IUAW listens and we get what just happened. Hey everyone still blames the UAW for the woes of the company. But at least WE had a chance to vote on what direction WE wanted to go. Our leaders did what they were supposed to do. There is a process in place and it worked just as it was supposed to. Love it or hate it, but that is what the process is. rudacuda
228elec is exactly right! I am worried. I also accept the decision! Solidarity! I agree with you Eagle, Your President Jeff Terry is going to be saying I told you so! I feel he is going to be right, especially about Sterling Axle his home Plant! You guys seriously voted down all that work? Skilled Trades must run that plant! Production workers are going to pay for their appathy! I aslo heard that Jeff Terry is going downtown! Again, this guy has been "going downtown" for 10 or 15 years now! I am sure if his daddy did things like that it would have took place a long time ago! I know his family and they always told people "you have to earn it, it is not a right"! Looks to me, his daddy is making him earn it and then some. But what makes me laugh even harder than all that political bs, Jeff was asked to go downtown many times when IUAW made 115k a year not 70k a year and refused because his plant was not in good shape and did'nt trust anyone else to be able to fix it!! IRONY! He was the only negotiator that told Ron G to fuck himself in the last modification and now Ron don't want him on staff! :reading: Maybe, thats why I find all this bullshit on this site amusing! What people don't know can hurt them!! We are fine where we are at VanDyke but, Sterling is in a diffrent mess. Thank god there is no transfer agreement anymore. :happy feet:
Stugots
Transfer agreement or not, don't forget who brought you into this world 2280. It was local 228 at Vandyke plant and all they did was add an 0 at the end. Times were much better then. If necessary we will call our offspring back home and you can drop that 0 just as quickly as you got it. And don't forget we have high seniority at Sterling. If there are layoffs where do you think the low seniority workers will be?

Stugots
I agreed with you there isn't a transfer agreement (hence my statement transfer agreement or not) however don't think for a moment if you're a low seniority employee(less than 18 years) I will not be sitting at home, I will take my seniority and show up wherever there are low working and you will be a casualty of seniority my friend. You're in my zone so you're fair game.

FYI I did vote no on the Octo mods and did think it was a slap in the face Solidarity, Ray Ray UAW leadership and the company meet regularly, there is plenty that goes unheard of by rank and file members as well as the media. Gettlfinger himself has been taped saying they came to the company to achieve parity in contracts, he is still convinced this was a win win modifications. He still refuses to call the dead modifications a concessions agreement. While I agree listening to what the company has to say is one thing but bringing this to us after yearly modifications since 2005 was over the top. What was included in this deal what so anti union it was disgusting....I mean a no strike clause of any kind however spun is just wrong. Unions have historically brought up wages and benefits of the workforce, freezing the entry level wages and removing the cap until 2015 is going in the opposite direction. If we wanted someone to lead us to transplant wages and benefits I am sure Shelby and Corker would be happy too, but to have the ones we pay dues to try it is another thing. At least from those two I would expect such crap, from my dues paid lawyers I do not. We can disagree civilly on these issues I suppose Ray Ray , you are again correct that we did have a chance and did voice our opinions. While you may be right that some would have complained if we did not get this option, but isn't that how it always goes there are always people that will complain no matter what. I simply would have preferred or assumed that those in such high positions with all of those years holding union offices, would have known better than to bring us a deal that was furthering the framework to destroy unionized labor in the automotive world. For that, shame on them.
