Yup she is a commie, just read that little newspaper that she sells for $1 (well it was last time I was at DTP). She is quite a nice lady to talk to though. Here is a link to the SPARK website that she is affiliated with. Have a nice day. The Spark

UAW readies Ford strike approval: WSJ
DTP Body Door Hang replied to probowler's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Nope, it's not news. Business as usual, this is done every time a new contract is being bargained. Move along folks nothing to see here :reading: -
I just finished up my associates degree, so I have a lot of experience with ETAP. They will pay for most classes, they paid for all of mine except my internship(except when ETAP was eliminated). The schools can be online as well as something local, but yes they do have to be accredited and be sure to get the approval from them before you start classes. Oh and they won't cover private one on one instruction. I mention that because I had a friend that had to pay ETAP back because he took private music lessons . Don't forget that you can fill out your ETAP forms online. Which I can tell you is a hell of a lot quicker to do it online as opposed to sending them in .

Weeeeeee lets all throw our hands up and give a cheer for the communist spark lady. ROFLMAO you guys just kill me. Does anyone find it odd that on the very site where I constantly see the Obama haters just rail on about his policies, yet people somehow love the communist relic that stands outside the gates of DTP? If this were a true communist state she would have been drug off and beaten by now. A few quotes from the SPARK people themselves. All available at SPARK Website “We want an end to capitalism” “We want socialism, we want communism” “The militants who work on the SPARK paper are communists, internationalists, revolutionary socialists – we proudly stand in the tradition of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Trotsky.” Guess they only stand for the good communists? Man pass the Kool Aid guys, cuz that is some strong stuff you are drinking. :reading:

So I get a device with less functionality than a laptop, but at a higher price. It only runs software that is available through iTunes. With less storage space than a laptop. But hey if you want to cough up an extra $130 I can get a version that lets me use 3G from AT&T. And all this for more than the cost of a basic laptop? Am I missing something here? :reading:

RIP Brother Sullivan My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was one hell of a leader that is going to be sorely missed.

Bro you do realize the IUAW was put in a no win situation. First Scenario: The IUAW tells Ford that they aren’t willing to listen to what the company has to say and that there will be no more opening of the contract. Ok well that all sounds good, right? Well lets Ford “leaks” to the press how the UAW is unwilling to cooperate blah blah blah. End result everyone hates the UAW, as per usual. Now in this scenario should any facility lose a possible future product, you can be dammed sure that everyone and their brother would be bitching about not at least being given the opportunity to see what the company had to offer. Second Scenario: The IUAW listens and we get what just happened. Hey everyone still blames the UAW for the woes of the company. But at least WE had a chance to vote on what direction WE wanted to go. Our leaders did what they were supposed to do. There is a process in place and it worked just as it was supposed to. Love it or hate it, but that is what the process is. FYI I did vote no on the Octo mods and did think it was a slap in the face Solidarity, Ray Ray

For the most part no. There are few extra jobs being added on the engine side, but at the same time the fuel tank lines are being phased out. When it is all said and done there is a good chance that about 100 or so people will have to bum based on seniority somewhere else in the Rouge.

European Focus Spotted in USA

They were supposed to bring the next Focus over to Dearborn Engine so we could see what the new one is going to look like. I wonder if this was the one? :happy feet: :happy feet: -
20yrs sen. waitin to go to Dearborn Eng
DTP Body Door Hang replied to helleon9's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Don't count on opening at engine anytime soon. Fuel tank:Line 1 just lost the afternoon shift, Line 2 will be shutdown at the end of July and Heavy Press will lose it's afternoon production after line 2 gets shutdown. If there are any openings in Engine they will be just back filled by the extra employees on the fuel tank side of the plant. Sad but true. I've been wrong before though. -
I'm just relaying the info I was told. I personally could give a flying fuck as to who makes em. Fact is with 13 years i don't expect to be on this sinking ship much longer. Oh yeah don't you have a management desk to be under right about now? :blah: :blah: Either that or a box you should be filling up before they walk you out the front door?
-
Yes it is. Currently they are getting ready to put the new machining in for the new engine. The engine itself can be assembled along side of the other ones we currently run. And the I4 will be discontinued in a few years tops, we have already been told that.
-
I think those were for skilled trades. There are in the process of putting in the machining for the new engine.

Dearborn Engine and Fuel tank plant
DTP Body Door Hang replied to bees's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Engine side of the plant is off for at least the next two weeks, heard it might be off for 3. Different lines in fuel tank will be off over the next 2 weeks. There was recently a man power reduction, after the round of buyouts. So who knows as to how many people they will actually end up taking this time around. I know the company wanted to cut 37 jobs in fuel tank, have no clue as to how many they wanted to cut in engine. -
8-10? Wow I was making that when I walked out of High School and started welding at a small manufacturing company. And I made a whole lot more than that when I left to come to FORD in 1996.

Possible concession hitting Locals this week
DTP Body Door Hang replied to lquidspine's topic in Ford Employee Forum
It's a quick way of getting rid of low seniority. Not to mention that once your unemployment and SUB run out you can get your job back, at a pay cut of course. -

ETAP Gone?? Well ain't that dandy. Anyone got about 7,500 so I can finish up my degree? LOL Guess it is time to start looking for financial aid. It'll do me some good, by the time my oldest goes to school in 2 years I'll already know all the hoops she has to jump through. :stats: -
we will all be back to work soon?
DTP Body Door Hang replied to littletimmy's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Could be a possibility that everyone gets jammed into some plant somewhere, They figure that if you are just sitting at home not working then you aren't doing anything at all for the bottom line. Sooooooo.................... They add a shift where necessary and throw in the rolling down weeks when needed. Then JSP will effectively be gone FORD only has to pick up part of your pay when you are on layoff. That's right the State can pick up the rest, and when the State fund runs dry they can beg the Gov't for the $$$. I like to call it the FU Washington plan. There is more than one way to get some cash from the Fed. Sounds far fetched, but hey you never know.
