Seeing a lot of our cars being driven around with plates and not just ones that are getting skirts, remote starters or DVD's. Wondering why and if anyone is keeping an eye on them?

Its called a campaign, those vehicles need a certain number of miles on them to check an issue.(if you mean temporary dealer plates)

Never 10 in a row and yes with dealer plates. They weren't headed for royalwindsor they were going the same way as the crown cars go and they don't need plates if they stay on Canadian road.

Sounds like you have an answer to your own question. Why bother asking?

Go to the Ford website and check out how many OAC vehicles were sold last month. Then figure out how many we are building. We seem to be building way more vehicles than we are selling. US sales were around 10,500 in November. Add sales outside the States, say 3000. That is 13,500. How many are we building? It has to be at least 5000 per week. We are only selling 3 weeks worth of vehicles, but we are on 10 hours. What gives? Does anybody have an explanation? Are we still stocking up the dealers because the "Cash for Clunkers" program drained them dry, or is it something else?

You would think that your economic crystal ball would give you that answer.

I don't have an answer. Does the union? Worst case scenario would be stocking up for a plant closure. Best case scenario is that the dealers are stocking up for an expected increase in sales.

My economic crystal ball still sees a dark future. I don't think this stimulus is going to catch fire, but fizzle out. More and more economists are starting to agree. The only way that we can come out of this is if other countries remain so afraid of the U.S. that they continue to buy its worthless paper. It could happen, but I wouldn't bet on it. Either interest rates will rise, or we will have runaway inflation. Either way, the economy goes into the dumpster. If you think that gold is not over-priced, that means that the stock market, valued in gold, is still where it was at it's 2008 low. The run-up is just hot air.

I hear Ford is adopting a new motto for the new year.

" Arbeit Macht Frei "

I hope it doesn't catch on.

Maybe the government will be setting up concentration camps in the near future, but comparing Ford in any way to Nazi Germany is wrong. Ford is by far the best employer that I ever worked for. The Nazis were left wing socialists. Ask a socialist what he thinks of Jews, and you will likely hear an anti-Semetic remark.

How many jobs have you had? if you have been a Ford 30 some years things have changed and how would you compare not having been at an other job

I dug clams, worked for Olivetti Underwood, Henderson Display Advertising, Northern Electric, National Cash Register, Star Dolls, Hi-Lo Equipment, Transportation Services, Vaughn Township Dept of Public Works, Graves Foods, primed tobacco, Concord Movers, Lewis Paper Products, Mercury Marine, Wesco Landscaping, and Stelco. I also worked at odd jobs as a kid, and did temp work by the day during some lay-offs from Ford. Ford has been by far the best of any of these. I have been at Ford for 35 years, and plan to be there for many more.
