kenoking1
I recently had my 08 Edge Limited in for a Vista Roof Rattle at my local Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Dealer for 5 day's, prior to a 4,400 mile road trip from the Midwest to the West coast and back. This was the second time the dealer had the vehicle in for the same repair. Not only is the rattle worse, but this is how it was returned to me. At this point, I'm not sure what my next step is. The pictures speak for themselves.

Basicaly the rod is supposed to be rolled 180 degrees so it is rolled in the fabric then placed in the snaps. All your issues are really a easy fix. However, that is no excuse for returning it to you looking like that. My next step would be to call the service manager and set up a time to come in and point out all the concerns you have. Don't settle for the service advisor. I would also ride with him and show him the rattle you are hearing. Good luck and let us know how it goes. I don't want sun roof or a sunshade. Give me steel!!
theDuff
The sad part is, it probably took the guy all day to make it look this bad. Tell the service manager you don't want this guy to touch your car again. There should be at least one tech there that's had one of these headliners out on multiple cars and knows what he's doing. It looks like the tech is new and must have skipped the apprentice phase. Totally unacceptable. Don't they have any type of quality control? Our assistant manager drives every vehicle we work on and this would not have passed inspection. Like Fordtech said, everything is an easy fix and it can be put back to normal without much hassle. Hopefully rattle free too!
wizofozus
I had 07 SEL with the Vista roof rattle. Had mine into dealer 5+ times. Once they claimed they even replaced the ceiling. It's the stupid sticky pads they use to attach the ceiling to the L-brackets that hold the ceiling up. There about the size of a quarter and there is 2-3 of them right around the sunroof openings. The glue they use on them is worthless. Dealer put new pads on those, lasts 1 month at most then ceiling is falling again and rattling. I gave up, traded the vehicle in for Flex. Flex has same problem, but I fixed that myself. I used thick foam padding and stuffed it into the ceiling there, killed the rattle. No more Vista roofs for me. My mom has 07 Lincoln MKZ, has sunroof. Ceiling hanging on that one and rattles some time.
