silvrsvt
I'm down in Orlando for work the past couple days and went out to Downtown Disney this afternoon after wrapping up work. Anyways...I saw 4 Tauri today...there where 3 in the parking lot of Disney and they where SEL models with barcodes just above the VIN number, meaning they are rentals. I saw a Taurus Limited on Route 4, so that was obviously not rental. Anyways, was slightly surprised to see the Taurus in the rental fleets, but at the same time, they where SEL models, which means they would be in line with Ford requiring rental companies to buy nicer equipped cars and not el stripo models like the Taurus SE. I'm also pissed at Hertz for giving me a Mazda 5 as "Midsized" car...when they said on the phone a Mazda 6. I really didn't care for the M5, I had a hard time fitting under the steering wheel (I'm 6'2 and I never had a problem with the Focus I had, nor a couple Escorts) and it seemed like the Gas and Brake peddles where really close to one another....to the point that I would step on the gas and my foot would hit the brake peddle when accelerating. I also so my first CTS wagon (With NM plates on it)....so I'm surprised that Caddy was even able to sell one of them! It actually doesn't look that bad in person, but it doesn't look that good either.... I also saw a fairly new Explorer Sport Trac Adrenaline last night...was all red and looked pretty nice..but I was surprised to see badging on the sides that claimed it had 330HP in it (in the fake fender side vents)..anyone have any idea what the hell it was..or was it phony baloney? Another comment, WTF is the deal with Drivers in Eastern Orlando? I know I'm next door to UCF, but I saw an accident every night I was out to dinner, some times more! Is Insurance stupid expensive down here? Edited April 22, 2010 by silvrsvt

That's just some dumb ass who bought some badges at the swap meet. He probally has the 4.6L V8 and thinks his K&N filter adds 40hp... making a grand total of 330hp. You should have told him the sticker that comes with his filter kit adds an additional 5 hp.

LOL I know what your saying, but the badging wasn't tacky or cheap looking, it looked like it was part of some package...which could have been dealer installed...it was in the same color as the rest of the truck (red) and was painted plastic in the black mesh that in the fender vents. timmm55
I had a Mada 5 last week for rental also. it was an upgrade, but I'd rather of had the smaller car. great if you need to carry 5 others! Did you check to see if the wheel tilted? Seems to be a lot of Mazdas in the rental fleet. I did see one well optioned Flex (two-tone, Navi)
