FordBuyer
From today's Freep article that summarizes Ford's press release for easier reading: "Earlier this year, Ford introduced a redesigned Super Duty pickup with two new engines — a 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine and a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine. Total F-Series sales are up 34.7% through July, according to Autodata. While plans for some of the new F-150 engines were announced earlier this year, today is the first time Ford has provided performance details. Ford said: The 3.7-liter V6 generates an estimated 300 horsepower, 275 pound-feet of torque and 6,100 pounds of towing capacity. The 5.0-liter V8 generates an estimated 360 horsepower, 380 pound-feet of torque and 9,800 pounds of towing capacity. The 5.0-liter engine is similar to an engine Ford is using for the 2011 Mustang GT but has different hardware designed for the needs of a truck. The 6.2-liter V8 generates 411 horsepower, 434 pound-feet of torque and 11,300 pounds of towing capacity. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost that will offer horsepower comparable to a V8 engine and with 20% better fuel economy than the outgoing engine. Ford declined to release performance specifics and said the EcoBoost engine won’t be available until early next year."
