Hugh
Cool Video. If I was in the market for a truck, 1/4 mile timings is not something I'd look for but hey, it's fun!
Mad Hatter
I have a slow connection, so the video was kinda choppy-did the EB truck make the 1/4 on a rolling start?
Hugh
The left-hand truck was the 3.7L NA I thought.
Mad Hatter
About 45 seconds into the video. Looks like there's a burn-out, then a cut to the tree with the truck rolling at the green light.

Having driven an EB F-150, I don't doubt the 14.67 from a dead stop.
Hugh
Sorry, I can't reply to posts now. The truck on the left-hand side 45 seconds in to the video with the rolling-start is most likely the 3.7L V6 AFAICT. It's probably got the TCS still on. mikeputc
The video only shows a few runs. We ran the trucks together approximately 5 or 6 times. Prior to the start of each run, the trucks were staged at the tree. A rolling start before the green would have scratched a truck and there were no scratches. We only had both trucks together in one place for about 30 minutes. What else would we do at Milan beside the quarter-mile? :D Edited October 26, 2010 by mikeputc

Any chance of getting your hands on a 5.0 reg cab short bed? Every single engine seems to be impressive. The 3.7 may be the biggest over achiever of the bunch. Every single engine seems to be impressive. The 3.7 may be the biggest over achiever of the bunch. The 3.7L Reg Cab had a 3.73 rear axle. I'm sorry that I didn't write down the rear axle for the 3.5L EB truck. It was 3.73 or numerically lower. Will see what I can do about the 5.0L. I could spend six months testing all the different powertrain and cab configurations in the 2011 F-150.
