  1. Responding no personal attaches. BB Not taking any shit from you Jensen. I have as much of a right as you do here. You are the one on thin ice. Banning me is easy. Do it , Sick of your shit and when you hit theban button I have a surpirse for you sir. Do it.
  2. Not at all. Phil, from the math I did you need to drive 40K to break even on what you overpaid for a hybrid to begin with. Thats good. Then you come out on the good side of things and God help you if you need a repair on a hybrid. Thats going to get expensive. Still, impressed on the deal you made sir. Drive them long? I have a *96 GMC that is worn out that I keep driving. INsurance, taxes are dirt cheap. Still runs. * Run your liberal math on that one. Gets about 17 mpg on a good day and paid for long long ago. Never the less Phil, you have finally made a case and I applaud you. I will follow but dont hold your breath for me to b y a hybrid.
  3. I know of a company that has one that has been beatin beyond your wildest imaginations that has 130K on it and it still runs. But just barely. Still not a fan. This company towed with 2/10 of a mile on it wide open over loaded and just has beat it to death.
  4. I guess I am. But I paid 2500 bucks for a motorcycle that will run the quarter mile in 12.5 flat. Cant ride it in the cold or rain but it sure is fun in the summer months. By the way, since this is an older bike it does not have cats or fuel injection so I guess Im poluting a little bit. NOt sure how many hybrids you can buy that actually get 50 mpg consistantly for 2500 and will last for tens of thousands of miles. Im pretty sure my bang for the buck is better. I dont want to get off on politics but 4.00 a gallon gas is hard for everybody and you have to do what you have to do and I took the best route for me personally. Your results may vary and I love motorcycles anyway.
  5. Sorry I crapped on this thread. This goes back to an argument 4d4ever and I had way back over the Cmax mpg. I dont need to remind anybody it has been lowed twice since then by Ford and by a significant amount. Im a conservative, love powerful cars like Mustangs, and I let my political beliefs slip into this thread somehow and I should not have done that. I dont believe in hybrids because I have yet to see anybody make a business case for one given the high purchase price. That does not excuse me however from messing up somebodies thread that might help somebody else down the road. Sorry about that. Wont happen again.
  6. I recently drove an 05 F150 that was a crew cab 4x4 with the 5.4 in it and it only felt adequate to me. I am just guessing that it probably weighed in at 5577 according to the specs I found. 300hp and 365 ft lbs for that year. Never was a fan of this engine. 4200 lbs with the 2.7EB should be a world of difference! If you are like me and just love the V8s a 5 liter would scream in such a light truck. I think the 2.7 will be the best selling engine in the lineup. Any guesses on realistic mpg/s for this engine? 26-27 highway mpg? Seems like Ford might have finally hit a sweet spot engine size wise that is powerful and hopefully fuel efficient that can be used in mulitiple cars/trucks if so desired. This one really has my attention.
  7. Told you guys so. This trans is a POS> Tired of being demonized for critisizing FMC but tired of FMC screwing the consumer. How much more proof do you want the dual clutch trans is a complete POS??? Ford, run and hide becasuse you sucked on this one. Nice work not.
  8. Still confused. So how much does the old RCSB weigh and what does the new RCSB weigh? 2.7EB is a big deal but weight is a big deal. Trying to piece this together. Lets get oranges to oranges here. Can any body c onfirm the numbers?
  9. My Father who is till alive wants to buy a new car for him to put around town in. Instead of me being they typical opinionated asshole I said lets got look and drive them all. Those that want let us drive them can go to hell. We blew a day looking and kicking tires. My vote is for Mazda CX5 and he likes the RAV4. Doesnt matter to me becasue Im not paying for it. I was able to spend time with him and that is what is important. Stubborn as hell and set in his ways. I think Nick would appreciate that sort of story. Nick would also have an opinion on this sort of class of vehicle that I miss.
  10. Getting ready to go look at one. I will let you know. Mazda is a welll kept secret imo.
  11. Here is a question I want to ask of you liberal green energy nut jobs. I bought a 2003 Honda 750 motorcycle that gets me 50 mpg consistant. Its as reliablale as the sun coming up in the east. Tell me again why I want by buy a hybrid like the Cmax or others? Please do the math to proof it. You cant. You have a straw man argument imo. Not picking on Ford her but everybody. Green energy and hybrids are a joke when you put pen to paper.
  12. Looking for eperienceshere and what you think of the CX5
  13. Nick was always the voice of reason in the political threads and a good guy. Just cant believe he is gone.
  14. lol, The SRX has terrible visablility imo and may be the worst in class I dont know. This is my main gripe with it. But its plush, and powerful and smooth. I dont give a damn what I am doing to the earth. I am here to burn rubber and all the gas I can in Mustangs and I am going to follow through on that. Just count on that. I am glad to see you have a sense of humor. You cracked me up with the small penis comment. We may have more in common than you think! :hysterical:
  15. Congrats, I took a trip this past weekend in a Caddilac SRX of 200 plus miles with the cruise set at 79 mph and got 23 mpg. AC wide open and rolling. No eco mode or no BS just hauling ass. Spot on the EPA sticker and running harder than I should. Couuld have done bettter. Just didnt try. Caddy SRX 17/23 with the LFX and its strong and delivers. Continue to be more and more impressed.
  16. YOur right. I am just a country dumbass but get the window sticker on everything every made before and consitantly. Fords EB engines will remain suspect.
  17. Let them drop it. Small companies like Mazda are there to p ick up the scraps with 6 speed manuals ect..... They are now on my radar because of little things like this. Ford is not a damn bit better in any class than Mazda but they are bigger. That speaks volumes to me given what Ford has available with resources.
  18. Just wow. Something like this is way beyond my budget but you gotta be impressed as an enthusiast. Way to go Dodge.
  19. Not disputing and I think you are right. It just depneds on what it costs.
  20. Depends on what the upcharge is for the 2.7 and what the gas mileage is. I have to say the 2.7EB is probably one of the most interesting motors Ford has come out with in a long long time.
  21. Appreciate the info. We are going to go and drive one soon. Our local stealer only has the V6 so we are not too happy about that. I have a little test route that will torture an engine uphill and I plan on taking the Cherokee on it. Up hill, from a dead stop and a hard mile up hill with the AC blowing wide open and lets just see wht the 3.6 will do.
  22. Out shopping tonight with a family member for a new SUV/CUV and one of these caught my eye. They left it unlocked so I was able to get in it and pop the hook ect.... For what ever reason these have gone under my radar because I am not much of a Chryco fan in general but this thing looked really nice to me. A quick check of the specs and this thing checks all the boxes for me for the most part. I am wondering if any of you guys know anything about them in general and and trouble spots to watch for? I know the 8 speeds are probably too new to determine if they are reliable. Appreciate any opinions.
  23. I am not buying a F150 or any full size. When my 96 Sonoma finally kills over I am just going to get an econobox of some sort to replace it. When I need a truck I guess I will just rent one or something. I wish I could have gotten one of the last 4 cylinder Rangers but the timing was bad for me.
  24. I am too lazy to look it all up but doesnt Mazda kick Fords ass and everybody else on weight? Something for you kool aid drinkers to think on. Sometimes the holy grail ainit all that holy.
