PWR Kid
What is the better option on a fx4 ? Putting on larger rubber? Driving in lots of mud/sand? Pulling extreme loads? Any of those = 4.10 All no = 3.

V8-X
Keep in mind, with 4.10 you'll bring home slightly worse mpgs on the highway than the 3.73, due to running higher rpms. And depending on your driving style, the 4.10 could either hurt or help your city mpgs. The new 6spd trans has helped towing a great deal and many owners who used to opt for the 3.73 with the 4spd auto on the 08 and earlier F150s, are now mostly ordering 3.55 rear ends. The 3.73 and 4.10s are nice though. Either way, you won't notice a drastic difference. But if you plan on larger tires or towing heavy loads a lot, then the 4.10 are more up your alley. I plan on getting the Lariat SC 4X4 EB with the 3:55 since I will be hauling two motorcycles and not much more. Hopefully, I will get the claimed 21 mpg hwy or better. mikesxpress
What is the better option on a fx4 ? I got my XLT long bed with 3.73 and tow package for 11,200 lbs of towing.
Wavehogger
Considering it has the 6 speed AT, the difference between 3.55 and 3.73 won't be hardly noticable unless you were towing the max in extreme conditions. Going to 4.10 will make 1st & 2nd gears really crazy powerful for sure.
Rufeo
Wow 4.10? I know many people put that gear ration in their mustangs for quicker takeoffs. wonder what the difference is in the quarter mile
