gafry
I bought a F-150 STX in Nov 2005. It was a left over going into the new model year. I am verey happy with the truck compared to the 1997 F-150 I had which I hated and traded in for a Ranger. I get around 17 mpg with with the small 4.6 engine. It cold use a little more power though. The additions neede for the truck are the back door on the extended cab should open farther. And how about a way of lowering the bed in the back to allow easier load of the truck bed. Maybe air shock or hydraulic. to lower t the bed. Come on FORD let's have some new ideas and not always fallowing the Japs.
J-150
. Come on FORD let's have some new ideas and not always fallowing the Japs. you;re serious? Sorry dude, but Ford is leading the segment with ideas. Everyone else is scrambling to catch up. The only thing the F150 lacks over the competition is a top end killer motor (comparable to the Hemi and Endurance)
gafry
Spoken like a true Ford nut Maybe that is why Ford truck sales are DOWN Maybe that is why the 6.0 Diesel Ford Truck is shit and the world knows it
YT90SC
If F-150 isn't the current class leader then who is? Which half ton is the benchmark? F-150 may give up peak hp numbers to a couple makers, but are they as capable across the board? PEAK hp isn't the only judge of a good truck. Other makers may have more "gee whiz" electronic or convience stuff, but again, are the trucks as overall good? The upcoming GM offerings and the new Tundra will be real hardcore competitors, but they are UPCOMING and no doubt used the CURRENT F-150 as a benchmark. Toy did, after all OBVIOUSLY use the last gen f-150 as the benchmark for the current Tundra. When F-150 gets a redesign, they will be playing catchup again. And as far as the 6.0 goes, the bugs are for the most part gone. A compotent tech can easily fix any problem, and fix the root cause too. The worst thing that happens is that most techs don't look for or fix the root cause of the failure. I.E. Injectors don't just fail on their own any more, something causes them to fail. I know of a truck that had 13, yes 13 injectors put in it because the tech working on it before didn't diagnose the root cause of the problem: a failing HPOP that contaminated the injectors. If he had taken the time to properly diag the thing the first time the customer would have been much happier, and the truck wouldn't have had unnecesary repairs. J-150
Spoken like a true Ford nut Maybe that is why Ford truck sales are DOWN Maybe that is why the 6.0 Diesel Ford Truck is shit and the world knows it $3/gallon gas will do that. EVERY large truck is feeling high gas prices. Secondly, please point out WHAT features the competition has that is better than Ford... other than motor and 5 sp tranny. The answer is NOTHING. Oh, one more thing. The 6.0 isnt an F150 motor. Next time try to make an argument founding in reality. Careful, your stupidity is showing you Toyota loving asshole Edited July 1, 2006 by J-
