UAW workers at MAP boo Gov. Snyder during Focus celebration

Recommended Posts

Out of curiosity exactly how much did the union kick in our profit sharing checks? I thought profit sharing was earned by each employees work the prior year and paid BY THE COMPANY.

The union did deduct $61.07 from the check so that means I paid them and not the other way around.

If it wasn't for the union you wouldn't have a profit sharing check.

Really?

So Mr.Mulally would not have one either (profit sharing check) without the union right?

He is a very smart person doing a very good job.

Some people are capable of greater things and there are others that ride the system.

Usually the people most dependent on the union/s are the latter category.

I can only guess which category you fit in but I have my own ideas.

Ok we didn't even get half the profit sharing we should have thats a fact if you go by the 1984 contract

This is more important

Now is the time when we all stop bickering and pull together like one union :happy feet:

I can attest if Obama didn’t steer GM and Chrysler through a structured bankruptcy there would be huge wage cuts and many UAW retirees’ pensions would be worth pennies on the dollar.

If you read the book Overhauled everything was documented that Republicans wanted to abolish the union, cut wages down to right to work state levels, carve out the “Cadillac benefits” and sanitize all remaining contracts. The book also stated that the UAWs influence in the Democratic party steered the bankruptcies to become a “Union Friendly” bankruptcy as the Republicans wanted more pain to UAW members than what the Democrats’ would agree upon.

With the new Republican Governors attack on Unions it’s only a matter of time before the Republicans get to private sector representation.

Does anyone still believe the Republicans want us to prosper as a union?

Any union member that supports these jack booted thugs gets what they deserve.

Now I understand why the union is so political.

Republicans and business want the only opposition connected to a fair days work for a fair days pay out of their way.

Has anyone ever listed to Limbaugh of Fox news? They bang on unions as over paid, out of touch entities that have “entitlement” culture.

They blame the whole Bush economic meltdown on unions. A mere 9% of the entire working population.

Make no mistake…….. Republicans want our union gone as well as our $70 per hour jobs.

Thank God for the UAW

Lou

And who was it the wrote that book? A Dem? that's what I thought. I am glad you pointed out that it was the Dems that "steered" gm and chry. into lower wages, loss of bargaining rights, worse working conditions, thanks for the enlightment. Now instead of talking shit and lying about what the repubs are going to do or will do after the sky falls tell me what the dems have actually done/documented for our unions in the past forty years. i am SHOCKED that none of you can do that! LOL

the union negotiated profit sharing with the company a long time ago. if it was up to the company we would have got alot less then we did. mullaly said they want to change the formula because he thaugt we got too much. I'll pay my union $61.07 they negotiated this a long time ago. go work for a transplant.

TANGO, I consider myself as an independent freely to vote on the candidate of my choice, lately I have been voting for more Dems. than Repubs. I vote for who has my best interest, if I were to vote by agenda then as a union member I could never vote for Repubs. for the simple fact that they would love to strip us of our rights and break all unions.

Now you have challenged what Dems have done for unions, I challenge you or anyone else what have Repubs done for unions in the past forty years I'm sure you’ll find all the wonderful things Reagan done for unions.

You are making one of my points. Alot of union members vote Dem. solely on what they say they are going to do. Your kid promises to clean his room for 5 bucks a week. he keeps saying he will, but never does and you keep paying him! Why the hell would he ever do it? You just keep paying him because he keeps telling you if you don't it will get dirtier. Come on now the dems. have had house and senate control for many many years since Reagan have they ever attempted to change anything on scab laws or strike breaker? No They tell you the boogie man is coming and you hand them money. Do you think if the airlines went on strike today threatening to throw us back into a recession, and they ignored Obama ordering them back to work they would not be fired? You do not want to see repebs. in office, I can respect that . Would you want to be forced to give your dues to a Repub. candidate? Why would repubs. do any thing for the unions when they know we will not support them?

There are too many SCAB/Republicans posting here.

It would be good to hear from some real union members that support their union and each other rather than the free riders and scabs.

The brothers and sisters that booed the appearance of this right wing extremist are knowledgeable about what he and his rich friends want to do to unions.

If the Republican/Tea extremists/SCABS had their way all autoworkers would be working for $10 an hour without benefits or the jobs would be gone entirely.

Lots of complaints about Granholm but lots of union members are working today and more will be working tomorrow thanks to her luring of investment to Michigan.

http://www.mlive.com/jobs/index.ssf/2010/10/granholm_announces_21_billion_investment.html

Solidarity means standing up for ALL working people, not sticking it to those scapegoats of the right wing extremists.

TANGO, As I said I am independent, in my last local election I voted on both party lines, I voted on what was good for me, not the NRA, or someones religious beliefs "and there are many" or someones socialistic agenda "which we have too many"

Your kid promises to clean his room for 5 bucks a week. he keeps saying he will, but never does and you keep paying him! Why the hell would he ever do it? You just keep paying him because he keeps telling you if you don't it will get dirtier.

I don't pay my kids money to clean their room it's not a job it's a lifestyle that is taught at an early age, but I will pay them for work they do such as washing my car, mowing my lawn etc.

Come on now the dems. have had house and senate control for many many years since Reagan have they ever attempted to change anything on scab laws or strike breaker?

Have Repubs, other than trying to remove what rights we do have.

No They tell you the boogie man is coming and you hand them money

I personally do not give politicians money, however are International and are Locals endorse candidates and give to their campaigns through V-Cap which I don't give to because who they endorse and I vote for may not be the same. Thats my right

Do you think if the airlines went on strike today threatening to throw us back into a recession, and they ignored Obama ordering them back to work they would not be fired?

Reagan already permanently removed that right.

You do not want to see repebs. in office, I can respect that .

As I said I vote both parties, you must be the one party voter "Please take the blinders off we are the human race not a horse race"

Would you want to be forced to give your dues to a Repub. candidate?

My dues do not go to politicians that is what V-Cap is for please educate your self on what your union dues are for.

Why would repubs. do any thing for the unions when they know we will not support them?

My local has supported Repubs. that support us it's a two way street.
