ford5151
seen today where ford 2011 profit could exceed 20 billion because of one time refund of some tax money not used.does anyone know if we will get this part of the "profit" or is this excluded somewhere in the contract ? pmooret
We're always excluded. Sometimes the company excludes us other times they just sit back and wait for us to vote to exclude ourselves then laugh all the way to the bank.

Pioneer
Ford Motor Co. earns $20.2 billion in 2011 Under a formula agreed to by the United Auto Workers, Ford's earnings generated about $6,200 in annual profit sharing for its 41,600 hourly employees. Those workers received payments for the first half of the year, approximately $3,750 per person, in December. For the second half of 2011, the formula generated approximately $2,450 per employee, which is to be distributed in March. Profit sharing payments for individual employee will depend on how many hours each worked. The company's 2011 results were boosted by a one-time, noncash gain of $12.4 billion in prior year tax losses that had been set aside starting in 2006. Ford's pre-tax operating profit was $1.1 billion in the fourth quarter. Excluding the special item, Ford earned $8.8 billion in operating income in 2011. Pioneer
You get a THOUSAND dollars for every 1 billion ford makes If im correct...So if they made 20 billion you would make.. Um, no. Operating profit of $6.2 billion in North America triggers profit sharing for both white- and blue-collar employees. The new labor agreement between Ford and the UAW contains a more transparent profit-sharing formula. Now $1 per worker for every $1 million in North American pretax profit goes into the Profit Sharing Fund. That means $6,200 for the typical hourly worker who was compensated for at least 1,850 hours in 2011. Ford’s 41,600 eligible hourly workers received an advance payment in December based on the company’s 2011 first-half pretax profits for North American of $3.752 billion. The fund held about $154 million and the typical advance payout was $3,752. Workers will now get the difference. Payouts are larger for those who put in more hours, less for those who did not.The checks are expected to be paid in March. http://www.freep.com/article/20120127/BUSINESS0102/120127005/Ford-auto-13-6-billion-4Q-profit?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE

fordd
minus 10 percent to help fund the veba for the retirees------thanks again buttholes for the the yes vote Hold on there butthole. That still has to go threw the courts to see if that's even legal. If the court rules that it is, then the 10% will be deducted in future profit sharing checks...butthole... morepie
remember you all voted yes on the contract cause you thought it was a good one, now you want the world handed to you again but it's too late. You let the UAW intimidate you into voting yes (you lost money) You let the UAW lie to you because it would create more jobs (you lost jobs) You let the UAW make the rules as they go along (you're sphincter got plugged) The only way to make everything fair between the company and workers is to open up the contract and re-negotiate more money for the workers. Remember people you are the 99% the company and the UAW leadership took the last piece of the pie on you and you allowed it. Profit sharing will be capped because the UAW thought it was in the best interest of the company. If you feel that you deserve a piece of the 1% then get a lawyer and a petition and go to work.
