On the Ford owner site, as of early Friday morning, it shows the option to activate sync. Etis site still has no changes since I got the vin. Years ago, before it was as automated at it is now? That fear is probably well grounded. I have never ordered before, and was unaware of that concern. After reading your post, it seems I think I vaguely remember hearing that as a very young man.
