The first pre-production model was one day later, last Thursday, the second one ran today. It's usually 6-8 weeks from the first PP1 model to launch, then a few weeks for quality assurance before shipping to dealers. It will be a 2014 model from us and we don't have a confirmed start date for full production yet. Ballpark estimate 2-3 months at dealerships. We delayed PP1 launch 6 weeks because we didn't have the stamping dies from Mexico, otherwise they'd be available in about 6 weeks from now. Thank you for waiting for an American built Fusion, Willie. I know a lot of union members are waiting to buy one until we make it, sales should get a boost from that. The Fusion is on pace to sell 300,000 in production this year, which is great. We will try as always to put out the highest quality Ford products possible and I have the wait is worth it for everybody....THANKS

Production does not start till into September. Still waiting on supplier parts for trim. One supplier is still putting up their building. Few more builds scheduled in may and then nothing till august. Plant is idle the month of july for new 3 wet ststem

We have the last week of June off and the first three weeks of July. Our local newspapers are stating a late August build date, but the company won't give an official date yet. We have to train everyone now and then get ready to do a split shift for training the new hires for a month to prepare for the start of b-shift. Our new model unit trainer said that we might build the pre-production models (PP1) starting the last week of July and then do the launch in August. They will want all processes working well and then have a quality hold before releasing to the dealerships, so it could be Sept. before they arrive there. Our one month off slows this process down, but it is what it is.
