2013 FF Headlights Issue

I have noticed a few things about my headlights. This can possibly be related in/directly to the headlight recall, so I wanted to get some opinions from people who are familiar with the headlight recall issue.

Just for some background, the headlight recall was placed sometime in December. My Fusion was put into production Jan 11 2013 and when I picked it up a few months ago, I was told that the headlight recall was corrected during production. I am now doubting if it was, whether the salesperson was misinformed or just did not care.

Here is what I noticed:

Hole in Headlights

In the red circles is what appears to be a hole on the inside of the headlight front plastic. This hole has not penetrated to the outside. It is on both headlights.

Deformity Inside Headlights

Again, in the red circle is what appears to be some sort of blemish or defect on the inside of my headlights. It appears to be some kind of foggy blemish that only occurs where the light is hitting the plastic. I even shined a bright LED light onto the spot to see if it is just the reflection of the light. These pictures are with the LED shining right on the blemish.

Does anyone else have these issues on their headlights as well? One thing I noticed is that my lights are noticeably warm to the touch. I have never noticed this on my other cars. My fear is that the heat from the bulbs are altering and causing defects to the inside of the plastic. I also have a notion to believe that this is what the headlight recall was meant to fix. Can anyone confirm what the headlights before the recall repair looked like, and what it looked like afterwards?

Thanks. I appreciate the help!

A headlight recall in December? There was one announced in November for 2013 Fusions built up to October 20th, see below. Is there a different one?

You can input your VIN into www.etis.ford.com and see if there are any service actions pending, which will show on the left. The headlight issue was 12C27 but if your car was built after 10/20/12 it would not be subject to that one.

Isn't that circle the set mark for headlight alignment testing machines?

My 2007 Honda had them. My Fusion has them.

I actually never thought of that. Well as long as other fusions have it then im not concerned. I may stop by the dealer though to see what is causing the hazy blemish inside. It even appears to have alot of dust inside the headlight fixture. From my understanding, your headlights should be totally sealed to prevent any moisture getting inside. Anyone know if this is right or is the dust insignificant?

Wasn't the headlight recall /redesign a heat related issue? You might go to a dealership and look at the others on the lot to see if the same "deformity" is there. It could be just some curvature built into the plastic lens to help aim/reflect the headlight better.

The headlamp assembly recall, which I had done, was for a overheating issue for prolonged periods of time only. If you check your FordOwner.com account, it will tell you if your car has a recall or not. To date, my Fusion has no active recalls on it and was produced in Sept '12.
