Dustyw85
That car appears to have Ford design cues, especially the head and tail lights, and the door handles. I think the mid-sized compact sedan will be a production version of the Escort concept show in China.
bzcat
I think the mid-sized compact sedan will be a production version of the Escort concept show in China. No, the article you posted clarified this... Mid-size compact sedan is a replacement for the Fiesta Classic (Mk 4 Fiesta sedan aka Ikon). http://www.india.ford.com/cars/fiesta-classic The three cars under development are 1. Small hatchback below Figo - could replace Ka globally 2. Small sedan based on #1 - supposed to be below 4 meters so really tiny 3. "Mid-size" sedan to replace Fiesta Classic - Mid-size in India is still tiny... Fiesta Classic is 4.3 meters. Those are roughly the sizes of the current Fiesta hatchback and Sedan, one is just on 4 metres and the other about 4.3 metres. I'm sure the #3 I mentioned above is going to be based on the current Fiesta sedan. And I'm sure it will also result in a new Figo hatch. And you can pretty much guess that both will be sold in China and South America. Maybe Russia and ASEAN markets too. #1 seems to be a shrink down version of the B platform that is intended to be even cheaper. Likely competition for Honda Brio, Hyundai i10, Datsun Go, or Maruti Suzuki Alto.
