fordmantpw
Likely the reverse sensors.

The rear camera and sounds can be changed from your MyFord Touch settings page. Could you have changed the setting to enable the sound? transitman
I again looked at the 2016 Owner's Guide and I don't believe you can turn off and on the reverse sensors. I may be wrong, a visit to the dealership might help you solve the mystery.

Ummm, something was behind your car? That's normally why the sensors make noise.
nmadole
In my Fusion the beeping noise plays through the speaker (radio) when the 12V battery is low ... usually it plays a nicer tone through the collision avoidance speaker.
MountainLion
Ummm, something was behind your car? That's normally why the sensors make noise. Yup. Sometimes mine confuses my fence for a car. Other times its the hedge on the other side. Either way the manual head swivel shows all clear.
