ToddGak
The speed limit indicator on the HUD display is pretty handy, but sometimes is wrong (e.g. says 45 when the speed limit is 30). Does anyone know how/where Lincoln gets this data to the vehicle? I assume it's part of the navigation maps and will occasionally be updated when I connect the vehicle to wifi and check for updates? If so, I wonder how frequent the updates are. I haven't seen one since we took delivered 3 months ago.
akirby
It’s in the map data so it’s only as accurate as the maps (which means at least 2-3 years out of date). It only updates if you buy a map update which Ford said was available but now may not be. Check with the dealer. Cost is around $150 if available. ToddGak
thx akirby. Well that sucks. I'm not paying $150 for mapping data, it should be free IMO. Apple maps update frequently and work nicely on CarPlay. oh well.
sullynd
Its too bad Ford doesn’t offer traffic sign recognition in the US. https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/201860-ford-intelligent-speed-limiter-reads-signs-sets-cruise-control-but-only-5-mph-over
C130
My wife's BMW recognizes speed limit signs but it picks up the school speed limits also so it's not perfect. I have found it misses some occasionally also. Overall it works very well but it's been wrong before also.
LHB
I think the new 2020 Aviator is supposed to have speed limit sign recognition available.
