Volvo Follows Tesla's Lead on EVs by Building Its Own Batteries

To have a chance competing with Tesla, some incumbent automakers will no longer outsource battery packs and software for their upcoming BEV, and bring that stuff in-house. Battery packs for Volvo cars in China get CATL cells, all other markets use LG Chem cells. Volvo's in-house battery lab is in Sweden.
