1969 R code Dave
I ordered a Expedition Platinum Ultimate on 2-27. As of this morning I had heard absolutely nothing from anyone about order status. I called my salesman and he was shocked as the dealership had info on my order. He assumed that I was getting the same info as the dealership. Anyway, my order was confirmed on the day I placed the order and on 3-20 my order was scheduled for build the week of 5-12. Apparently my email address was screwed up somewhere along the line. And yes, I have checked my spam/trash/junk folders. I now have my order number and VIN to do my tracking. I was greatly relieved to learn that my order was actually making progress and not lost in cyberspace. Good luck to any of you that have pending orders. CJDave. 1969 R code Dave
Well, as is my luck, my emails from Ford were not reaching my in-box. Still have no idea where they did go but I now have the link to check status. Anyone have a guesstimate of time between "Built" and "Shipped"? CJ Dave. Part of it depends on how large of a backlog there is with vehicles that have been released for shipping. The other factor is filling a rail car with vehicles headed to the same final rail destination. In normal conditions, depending on the distance, the transit time to the dealership should be no longer than 2 weeks on average. Your Dealer has 24/7 access to status and location updates. Will it ship by rail if it is only going to Cincinnati? I just guess that trip is only 125 miles or so and shipping would be by truck. I know nothing about such things. Just guessing. Thanks for your input ice-capades. CJ Dave.

In that case it should be shipped convoy direct to your Dealer.
1969 R code Dave
As I am now able to view the window sticker mine will ship by convoy. The sticker also shows "Special Order". Don't know what that means. The first build I date I received was the week of 5/13. That has moved up to "In Production" as of 5/6. CJ Dave.

1969 R code Dave
"Retail Order" is one placed by the customer. "Stock Order" is one placed by the dealer for inventory. That is what I read on the Long McArthur Ford YT site. CJ Dave.

1969 R code Dave
"Delivered" on Sat. morning and in the dealership rear lot. Awaiting prep I assume. CJ Dave. 4
1969 R code Dave
Picked it up this afternoon, the 22nd, and am thrilled. The Black Agate Metallic paint and Mojave Dusk interior make quite a good looking package in my opinion. The bells and whistles are very foreign to me but I'll figure them out about the time the loan is paid off. It was subjected to a random audit which was a 16 mile test drive at the factory. Don't know if the audit includes anything else. The 24" tire/wheel combination is impressive. I feel as though the interior is wider as I sit behind the wheel. I've only driven about 30 miles but so far I like it. Hope my experience is not unique. CJ Dave.
1969 R code Dave
After 10 days of driving my new Expedition I am very happy with it. Many of the controls are different so still learning them. I quickly adjusted to the shape of the steering wheel. I am still wondering why each screen shows the map and haven't figured out how to change the seat profiles from #1 to #2 without using the fob. Both running boards deploy even if opening only one door. My 2017 deployed only the side of the opening door. The split gate is good. I had no idea the bodywork is aluminum until I tried to attach a magnetic mount cb antenna. I install the cb only for trips so I guess those days are over. I am less than impressed with the "owner's manual" app. So far so good. CJ Dave.
akirby
You can download the owners manual pdf from www.motorcraftservice.com. If it’s like my Nautilus you have 2 personal profiles tied to the fobs and the seat memory buttons on the door. You can also go into the personal profiles menu and select a different profile while parked.
1969 R code Dave
Thanks akirby. I'll look into the pdf. I have no seat buttons on the door nor anywhere else other than the actual adjustment controls on the side of the seat. CJ Dave.
akirby
Wow can’t believe they got rid of the buttons. Looks like you can only do it from the display and the keyfob.
1969 R code Dave
Still a ongoing learning curve. Thanks akirby. CJ Dave.
