Don't be an idiot. Talk to them. Tell them how awesome some of today's Fords are. Tell them how amazing Ford is doing in the latest quality and safety studies.

My grandfather fought in WW2, and he still has no problem with German or Japanese cars. The hate will hurt you more than help you in the long run. The best way to convince people to buy Ford is by telling them what I told you above. Ford is making great cars and trucks today, and that's not some UAW propaganda, but real data from Consumer Reports, JDPower and the gov's safety org....

I beleive everyone should be able to buy what they want BUT everyone in my family knows how I feel about foreign cars and trucks , I don't say nothing to them about buying them and they dont park them in my driveway. But for the most part they buy Fords.

Chalk it up to what an autoworker has to go thru. Neighbors and family whom act like that are jealous, envious and ignorant. They think they get back at you for being "so damn rich" by buying foreign and trying to throw it in your face. Long ago, I learned it's best to chuckle at the small mindset and go on. What goes around usually comes around. One incident I remember well is when our mail lady delivered my monthly statement from Ford Credit to my next door neighbor. This was the jealous neighbor who just bought a Toyota Tundra 2 months earlier, right after I bought my F-150. He brought my statement over to me, opened by "mistake", and told me he was surprised that I was paying almost $300 less per month than he was. He got rid of the Toyota less than 6 months later, buying a new F-150.

I understand your feelings, I also have some neighbors who drive rice burners. One bought one when they were closing our plant and it was hard not to harbor anger, resentment towards him. I always felt that the choice they make to buy rice will catch up and well it has, I just dumped my home for 125K less than what they were selling 5 years ago in my neighborhood. So my thought is the monies they save on rice they lost on the home they built. It still sucks, I left Ford but I will always promote the cars you all make and the pride in the workmanship that I know you guys put into on the line. I pray for the auto companies and the people I left everyday. God Bless and keep the line rolling, cuz that is what you all do best.

I little different,

I had a kid come to my house trying to sell me learning books for kids. He was driving a Hundie. I said well guy if that was a Ford I would be writing you a check right now, but since you cant support me I just cant support you. I asked him if he heard of the trickle down effect, he said NO, I said it just happened to you how do you feel.

And I had a woman try selling me arial photos of my house, she was driving a Honduh, I told her the same thing she was PISSED. I said get off my property. :D

What it boils down to, unfortunately, is that many this country have become the most selfish, me-first people in the world. Do what's best for me, and damn everyone else.

It pisses me off when I see these 70 and 80 year old people driving these foreign cars in Michigan. Don't these people give a shit that they are putting their grandkids out of work? Do they forget the sacrifices their parents made during WW2?

It also pisses me off when I see businesses proudly display their company names on the side of their Toyotas or Hondas. Who do you think supports you assholes? If I had more time I would compile a list of all the companies I see doing this and distribute them in every GM, Ford, and Chrysler operation.

I am sure that these Michiganians that buy the Toyotas, Hondas, and the like will be bithcing hen they are out of a job, and thier $300,000 house is now worth half that.

it is one thing if Toyota, Honda, or Nissan were building cars in Michigan to replace the lost jobs; they are not.

That's one of the biggest things that pisses me off! Oh well maybe one day they will come out of WALMART and forget where there import is parked and walk to the Ford dealer and buy a new Ford. :drop:

I understand people getting pissed about it, and I will never have anything but GM or Ford but there are a few Toyotas and other cars that are very much American made http://www.car.com/content/shared/articles...cle_id_int/1965 I don’t like it and wouldn’t bye one but if you don’t work for the big 3 it is a hard argument to make.

You should refer him to the Tundra crash pics thread in the Ford's Competiton area of the web-site. Any ASSHOLE planning on buying a Toyota Tundra should really view these twisted wrecks of fate before continuing their purchase. Makes for great laughter for us who know better!

But then again... Toyota buyers are such intelligent consumers aren't they?

As far as I'm concerned... It's more of a political thing. Although I am real disappointed in some of these senior citizens (who still are allowed to drive). They should know better.

I'm reading lately how the foreign vechicles are cheaper than America so I thought I'd check that out. Anyone have a site that comparies prices? The few I saw it looked like they were priced the same as the American built.

of course they arent cheaper.thats because the cost of producing a product has nothing to do with how much it sells for.

there are certain modifiers to this, competition, need for market share, etc. but any product brought to market will be sold for the highest price it will bring.thats why ford isnt making profit like they would like to. prices are set by the market a product is sold in,toyota has lower production costs which translate into higher profits ,not lower prices.

an example in my mind right now is those little rubber buffers that are sold for certain semi-auto rifles. its just a little rubber wedge, probably make 50 of them for a nickel. they sell for $5 each because people like that they take away the inevitable looseness between the upper and lower receivers on an ar15.

what im saying is this: the market where you produce and the market where you sell your product arent the same, necessarily. make sense?

I see what you are saying. I just wondered why I keep reading the foreign cars are sold for less that's why people can afford them. I'm trying to set a few people straight and doing my research. I've never looked at the price of the foreign vechicles as I never intend to purchase one. I know a friend of a friend that was selling Honda's had to quit his job as a salesman. He was putting in 40 hours a week and not making a dime, they aren't selling either. I'm sick of hearing all the bs about the foreign cars being better and cheaper. :blah: :blah: :blah:

If ur a midwesterner u may be surprised at this fairly new phenomena

but any of us from east coast plants knows its more UNCOMMON to see

households w/all amer vehicles than the other way around...i must say

though, @ least w/ pickup trucks its usually always a Ford or chevy or

dodge but w/ cars...................hardly amer generally! Ive enjoyed seein

mostly amer cars in driveways since movin to MI 2yrs ago....but some

of my neighbors to prefer jap cars in neighborhood. I live in Farmington

Hills btw.

That is about the only way to convince people to buy the products. Don't hate them for there freedom of choice.

My neighbor was a pilot for US AIR, He never hated me because I flew SouthWest.

My other neighbor was a builder, He didn't hate me because I had someone else build my deck.

I am about sick and tired of UAW members "Hating" neighbors, family and friends because of your job!

Without friends, neighbors and family you are nothing! Far more important then your job!

If the UAW propaganda machine would focus on helping Ford sell more cars, rather then sit in the union hall all day and think of things to say to members to get them to "Hate" their neighbors friends and families. There would be no reason to hate anyone!

Here's a true story...

A few years back at Cleveland Engine Plant #2. Two men pulled up in a Toyota minivan into the hourly parking lot around lunch time.

The van had a blown tire and the two men proceeded to change it in the parking lot.

A few workers who where leaving for lunch walked up on them and said "get that Fuc*ing thing out of our parking lot".

the men explained that the tire will be changed and they will leave. they were then told "to get it out of the parking lot now or get your Fuc*ing heads bashed in" The other guy already had the police in -route from his cell phone. no longer then 2 minutes later the police arrived..

Turns out that the two men where on there way to a remembrance service for the Marines of the 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment in Brookpark

one guy was a brother of a killed solider and the other was a best friend of a killed solider.

That moment changed me forever! I was one of the guys who made a threat!

"Hate" is a very strong word.. It's just a job!

You can sit there and "Hate" all thoes who don't buy the products you make..Just think about who will show up for you? when your time comes.

Here's a thought!!

Goto a Toyota dealership and test drive a new 2009 car..

Then goto a Ford dealership and test drive a new 2009 car..

Compare the two

Make a list of pro's and con's

for each car

Give that list to your UAW President..

See what he does with it?

If he really cared about his job and the future of the UAW he would be on the phone with world headquarters tracking down people.

If he throws it away, all he cares about is his Paycheck! and not the members trying to make a diffrence and thoes who want to help keep there jobs!

enjoy

My uncle worked for GM. When he died my aunt married another man that worked for GM years later. Her three kids all drive foriegn cars. My dad worked for Ford. I work for Ford. Me, my brother and my mom all drive Fords. My mom got remarried to a guy that drive a Meredes. The first time I met him I told him I could get him a discount on a Ford. He still has his Mercedes and I'm still working on him. He agrees with everything I say on the matter so maybe when he buys a knew vehicle it will be a Ford. My mom will probably kick him out otherwise. Other than that he is a great guy and treats my mom well.

Thanks for the reply. I'm so tired of all the haters. For someone to get mad about what someone

drives in this free country only shows why we as a nation are viewed like little kids around the world. Grow up

do the best you can at your job and hope our management team can pull it together before

we run out of money.
