  1. I am not sure why they are picking on Chrysler. This goes on at Ford and at GM. The guys are not scared because even if they get suspended/fired, the union will bring them back and pay them for all the lost wages and benefits.
  2. Looks functional and it's not that bad. Everything is where it should be as far as ergonomics go.
  3. See link for article: My link "On a retail basis, or excluding sales to rental car companies and other fleet buyers, the Sonata has outsold the Fusion and Malibu for the past six months" I have to admit, I didn't like it before, but now that I see these cars in person, they are nice. They look upscale, especially the interior.
  4. I think it will be a nice match up between the 2012 Focus and Civic. Haven't seen the 2012 Civic yet, but the Focus is really nice. The cruze looks old already.
  5. People buy Accords based on reputation. The cars seem to hold up well over time. I am not sure it deserves a last place.
  6. When Mullaly came to Ford, he was a breath of fresh air and really has and is making a lasting impact. This guy is the same old crap executive that GM has had way too many times before....OK, maybe I should give the guy a chance, but my first impresions of him are not good.
  7. "definitely don't test-drive the Touring. Once you've experienced the six-speed transmission's shorter 1st gear, closer ratios (identical to the Acura MDX) and quicker shifts, there's no going back to the five-speed, which provides merely adequate performance" I guess if people want little better performance, they can get it with the 6 speed. It's not pretty, but It will appeal to the targeted buyers....I am expecting most here will mention how ugly it is, but I think it will sell.
  8. I like it. I like it more than the Explorer, which still reminds me of a freestyle with a new front end. But that could change. I still would like to see these on the road in person to make a final judgment...
  9. Wow, the Sonata is doing well. I wonder how the Kia Optima will do, which essentially the same car, but better looking IMO.
  10. Not bad at all. Econoline doubled in sales?!?! Everything is holding up ok. I am not sure about the Flex. I was hoping the Fiesta would do a little better....
  11. Fleet's contribution Fleet as percentage of U.S. sales, Jan. through July Chrysler Group 39% Ford Motor 35% General Motors 31% Hyundai brand 16% Nissan North America 15%* Toyota Motor Sales 9% American Honda 2%* Read more: My link My link
  12. Great, thanks. Enjoy it! The design of this hatch model will still look good in 5+ years.
  13. Nice little car. Looks sharp. You are a Ford employee, right? What did you pay for the car? A plan? X-Plan?
  14. I can't believe I am sucked into this Explorer marketing. I am drinking the KoolAid.
  15. Is actually any American opposed to buying domestic? I don't think so. Americans are not anti domestic, they are anti-crap cars. Domestic + Quality = Success.
  16. "Among those on the positive side was Chrysler, whose sales surged 53 per cent from year-earlier levels.Chrysler’s market share jumped to 13.5 per cent from 9 per cent a year earlier. Ford posted a 19-per-cent increase, which kept it in first place ahead of General Motors of Canada Ltd. Ford’s market share jumped three points to 17 per cent. Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. roared into the top six in Canadian sales for the first time since the 1980s – surpassing Honda Canada Inc. – with 12,620 deliveries, which represents the best month it has ever had in Canada. On the negative side of the ledger, Honda had the worst month among the top seven auto makers with a 26-per-cent plunge. Market share for the seven Japan-based auto makers slid to 33 per cent from 38 per cent in May, 2009."
  17. Ok, here are the real numbers according to the edmunds comparison: Fiesta: Max. cargo volume, seats folded (cu-ft) - 34.6 Fit: Max. cargo volume, seats folded (cu-ft) - 57.3 That's some clever interior design by Honda....57.3 is a lot for a 'subcompact'.
  18. As far as cargo volume, I found this info....Is it right? Can't be.... Honda Fit 57.3 Ford Fiesta 26.0
  19. 40 MPG in real world driving without a hybrid.
  20. The sedan has a bloated profile in the rear. The 5 door hatch looks awesome! Everything I've read about the car is good. Don't worry about the price, Ford discounts their MSRPs.
