  1. The night Obama won I fell asleep on the couch watching the voting results at around 10:00 PM, and awoke at midnight to the sound of fireworks going off at the nearby street corner. My house is two blocks from the U of M stadium (the Big House) and the neighborhood is predominately but not exclusively students. From midnight until 2:30 AM that historic evening, the whole city seem alive, I could hear a Marti Gras like celebration in the heart of downtown about a mile away. I tried my best to go back to sleep after the fireworks, but it was useless. I tried putting on the TV, but even the TV had become drowned out by 2:30 AM (local bars stop serving at 2:00 AM). It sounded like a marching band was marching on the city, I could hear the drums, real marching band style drums in the mix of a cheering crowd's merry making. I put my pants and shoes on and ventured into the night armed with my camera and walked to the source of the noise two blocks away. About 300 people, mostly college students had marched and gathered at the end of Greene street in front of the football stadium's gated entrance. They were just joyfully cheering with shouts from the crowd like "OBAMA ROCKS" standing above the rest of the ruckus. Three or four unmarked police cars with several officers in each car watched the peaceful celebration quite attentively, but made no efforts to interfere. Audio/Video: http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x295/ka...nt=Imgp7152.flv It took me several days to get all of my sleep back, but it was a small price to pay. Cheers, George/kach22i
  2. Bush threw Scott off the bus after taking him with him from Texas. Payback is a b...............
  3. These four spotted Fords blew by me going south on US 23 near Brighton, MI on 10/18/2008 at about 12:15 PM.
  4. The New Hyundai Taken about 7:45 AM 10/22/2008 on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor, MI Manufacturer plates, she pulled out in front of me after a rolling stop in a heavy pedestrian area, not a good driver. I had to look up their logo, their cars have never been big on style.
  5. Two directions at once, and they pull it off (I think). http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread...6156#post856156
  6. unlawfully abused her authority unlawfully abused her authority unlawfully abused her authority This is huge, she will be forced to step down eventually, it's the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Sarah and Todd who are completely unable to separate their private lives and private beliefs from public life and public service. Remember other aspects of the Palin's misconduct are still under investigation, it has yet to hit the fan.
  7. These pictures were done back in October 2002 (6 years ago). I traced over a rendering in one of the major car magazines and added many touches I thought the car should have (was not the first time). I posted them over at Blue Oval News and Brad's Mustang site, and perhaps a few other forums. Most people seemed to like the suggestions I drew in. I suppose I could see into the future better than most. http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x295/kach22i/Mustang/
  8. I voted for Ron Paul in the primary, the choice is black & white this time. Obama 2008!
  9. This is something BON poster Timmm55 and myself worked on together a few years ago. How close did we get? http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x295/kach22i/Mustang/
  10. Radio stayed off today, only NPR comes in without drifting and I listen to that all day.
  11. I'll change it to "republican leaders" hate democracy if you wish. Blackwell was their head guy in Ohio, promised Ohio would go for Bush, so did the head of Diebold, but don't get me started. 100% accurate 100% of the time.
  12. +1 I think a lot of people feel this way, the GOP divide and conquer stuff is old, we all deserve better.
  13. I'm a self-employed architect in Michigan, the last two years have been terrible. A couple of months ago I spent three weeks in Portland, OR. It's dead there, not as dead as Michigan. A fellow BON poster in Seattle said his old firm Callison just laid off 80 out of 450. Been working full time since 1985, this is the first time I've thought of doing anything else. Architecture has been my life since I was 20 years old. What's next?
  14. Republicans hate democracy, just look at what Blackwell did in Ohio. Project Vote v. Blackwell Court Cases – 02/11/08 http://www.brennancenter.org/content/resou...te_v_blackwell/ Victory is on the march. :shades:
  15. The hood on that blue one reminds me of: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread....ghlight=mustang
  16. Almost toy-like. I like it very much, putting away my pens, watercolors and clay now.
  17. Would that be based on the Mazda 3? Very nice, would be a big seller these days.
  18. I have car from 1977, original radio, but the compact cassette tape player and dictaphone is not working. I typically don't play the radio because I'm just find with wind noise and the sound of the flat six behind me. However today I pulled the aerial up and with some long nosed pliers turned it on. The knob for the tuning work fine, but did you remember that those old radios would drift through radio stations depending on signal strength? Talk about a blast from the past, no locking tuning circuits back then. Who else has an old car and old car radio?

Nice find, I guess it shows one's age when you like the old stuff much more than the new stuff.
  20. Nice finds, the Mustang station wagon I've read about before, seems like the legend is always growing. It used to make me laugh, but now I think it's not such a bad idea. Then again I saw a Jaguar X-Type wagon last month which really looked good. The Stout, I have to say that I am fond of anything aerodynamic, no matter what silly shape it ends up as. Form follows function, but I crave different too.
  21. Stop your silliness, you started a new thread to continue your attack on me hoping I would not notice this thread. You can keep running. For anyone who has nothing better to do, this is the thread he is still crying about: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...showtopic=27235 Boohoo. :blah:
  22. Most people think it's bad manners to post PM's. WTF RangerM, get over yourself, I pant's you, caught you in a lie and made you eat it. All this whining by you makes me sick.
  23. Wow RangerM, you lose an argument by making false accusations in another thread and now you do this character assassination attack? Most people would try a PM, or settle their differences in the thread putting their best foot forward. A cheap shot, dirty and low down. I think that although we may differ in our ideologies, we generally have respect for one another, and are willing to debate our ideas (political and otherwise) in a reasonable and civil manner. Really? Is that what you are doing here? EDIT: FYI, I am not a "new guy" here, I have thousands of posts going back to at least 2000. I've posted renderings of Mustang's and lots of car news. Anyone having a problem with me just PM me in the future and don't go all girly on me.
  24. FYI: The CBC is not a tabloid. I have not posted a link to The National Enquirer in this thread, however I am aware that they are following the Palin story with the same vigor and relentlessness which broke the John Edwards affair. They were right on that one, and me thinks right on this one too.
