  1. Not at all, but then again the Ranger isn't setting much in the way of sales records either... There might be a market, but I think people want more of a swiss army knive when it comes to a car then being limited by a car with 2 doors and next to no interior storage space for when you go food shopping.
  2. Edison is long gone, they are planning on making a Mall/housing on the site...LOL
  3. Well thats the problem with it, I'll admit its interesting, but it just being a 2 seater will kill off most interest from your avg Car buyer...just look at what happened to two door SUV's in the 1990's...they where nearly all gone by the end of the decade. The car is Practical, yet very unpractical at the same time. I think the loss of any rear seating isn't off set by a having a bed in the back. If they can sell 10-15K of them of a year...you might consider it succesful, but otherwise I wouldn't.
  4. I dunno, I dont see this being a huge success, I think its going to bomb
  5. Ford doesnt have huge expecations for the Flex, maybe 50-70K a year. The MKT won't even come close to selling that many
  6. i really saw that in the photo accompanying the article
  7. My old man went this route, instead of getting up at an god awful hour and commuting up to work about an hour away to sit around all day and do next to nothing but play on his laptop, he took a volunteer position at a local hospital that he now works part time at since hes retired from Ford now.
  8. Never knew he was related to Chris Farley...
  9. If anything, its from fleetcentral.com and only shows the first 6 months of the year, which has a dispportant amount of sales to fleets during that time period
  10. Well I4 already outsells the V6 Model, pretty impressive considering how the I4/auto combo have been trashed by the auto press
  11. The biggest hurdle IMO with the FCS system is getting a 19ton vehicle to survive the same as a 35 Ton Infantry Fighting Vehicle and a 65-70 Tank... That leads me to this, why should a 21st century system of vehicles be limited by an airframe that was designed in the 1950's? (aka the C-130). If we could get a medium transport that could haul 30-35 Tons that would make life alot easier. C-17 can do the job, but they are far too valuable to be used in the Tactical environment that the C-130 fills.
  12. I seriously doubt it, but keep in mind the vast majority of Explorers don't see any off road use anyways. Theres been rumors of the Bronco coming back based on the F-100/Ranger Replacement, which might be a good trade off for people who still want a real SUV Nothing has been confirmed, but I'm almost willing to bet money that they will have to have run Premium in them
  13. Only thing I'm wondering about is how well the 09 F-150 will sell this year...then again it won't be in full effect till late in the year...
  14. I always read that the Windstar was pretty good minivan, outside of the 3.8L/Tranny problems that also where inhertant on the Taurus
  15. The biggest problem is that Luxury cars buyers dont care about spending 10% on a diesel engine, where as that same engine would add 20-25% to a normal priced car. Then lets not forget that Diesel is at least .50-dollar more a gallon then Regular unleaded in the States, where are you going to see any savings? Your typical car buyer who replaces his car every 5-7 years (less for those luxury buyers who are better off leasing anyways) isn't going to see any savings when driving the avg amount of miles...
  16. I was bored the other day (was looking up something on Wikipedia and got totally side tracked as usual) and I saw an article about how the Earth went from being a "hot house" to a "Ice house" climate like we have now. It stated that this algae bloom, which normally was found only in freshwater, managed to branch out on the seas due to the high amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere. It became so overgrown that it removed vast quatinties of Co2 out of the air and changed the climate to the cooler one we have now. The funny thing is when this algae died off, it settled on the ocean floors, and turned into Natural gas and Oil...the very thing that supposedly is causing all this extra CO2 in the atmosphere now
  17. I just dont care for how the lights have part of the grill in them, plus they would never make it into production anyways like that...
  18. The Army has already successfully digitally connected its vehicles in certain units. If your bored, take look at Blue Force Tracker and FBCB2 for more info (PS I work this stuff for a living :P) the Future Combat System is more about new vehicles then it is about digitally connecting everything..and using a common 19 ton platform to fit a whole family of vehicles off of, not to mention all these extra do-dads on the soldier that work like shit.
  19. I hope they are a bit more creative then the DT7 name...hell the new Caddy BRX reminds me of Brick for some reason
  20. You have to be kidding me...its already been established that hes a troll and a moron, but yet you say he puts stuff into perspective?
  21. Like the manufacturing base in the US, the way you fight a war has changed too...any country stupid enough to fight a long drawn out full intenisty war like WW2 would be broke with in 6 months to year of it starting. Wars aren't fought like that any more...its more of a come as you are battle, not what you can bring to bear 6 months to a year later.
  22. I love that orangy-red color...
