  1. The Lincoln Flex pricing should be interesting, considering that an fully optioned out Flex goes for $40-42K. I don't see how they sell a MKF or whatever they call it for more then $55K for a full-sized station wagon it is. A loaded Navi goes for what? under 60K?
  2. I wonder who the rocket scientist was that thought that was going to happen...DN101 Taurus numbers where artificially inflated from years of fleet sales. Do you realize that with two plants making the Sable and Taurus, they would have to sell like 450K of them a year? Thats just crazy since both those name plates haven't seen sales numbers like that since the early 1990's. It has nothing to do with a poor product (even though the 500 could have been better, it was far from being poor), more like piss poor planing and pie in the sky expectations.
  3. The mini-commander restyle?
  4. I'd like to know what your talking about, if your computer is less then 2 years old you'll have no problems with Vista. My games work fine for the most part with Vista, the problem is video drivers
  5. I think the confusion arises from the Flex/Fairlane Concept that was originally based on the CD3 then moved the D3 platform. But the interesting thing is....how did Ford go against its concessions it gave to UAW? Also, whats the status of the Wixom plant? I've heard its been warm idled pending some roadwork that needs to be done...
  6. Well if its any better..2011 is only 3 Model years away :P But I put my money on the Flex Lincoln showing next year at the NAIAS being the next Lincoln and the MKS being shown at the LA Autoshow
  7. IIRC, thats the baseline they are looking for in NA and want to grow it out to about 14-15% if they can Where did the 8 Billion figure come from?
  8. Isn't this Ford's goal as part of becoming profitable again? The numbers suck and make the news, but if they keep this they can turn things around...
  9. Well its really not doing anything for rest of the lineup...most new products from Chrysler after they launched have been bombs...with the new minivan being the only vartibite, but I'm sure that the interior looks like crap/cheap like everything else.
  10. This should do wonders for the economy and everything else... http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/071002/100_oil_outlook.html?.v=1
  11. Hey i need to do something to keep myself busy at work :stats: :shades:
  12. Not my concern, have fun on unemployment if Ford goes under...
  13. You keep trumpeting this fact...care to back it up? The US population is growning older and Toyata is facing the same issue. Its an industry-wide problem. I can think of far worse vehicles to be seen in...like Buick that have an Old man stigma about them. Throwing Tiger Woods at Buick isn't going to change that demographic.
  14. Why not? the 1976(?)-1982 Fiesta sold pretty good...the varations on the name like Fesitva that came later...well they suck
  15. You speak like the styling on the CR-V is anything to write home about...its horrible! I'd take a Civic over it
  16. Well if they can put a more sporting suspestion in the MKZ, It would make me even more likely to buy one. I'm seriously considering one in the future either way....
  17. I really wonder at times...if people automatically assume that a Honda or Toyota gets better MPG without even checking competing vehicles out? How much does a difference of 1-2 MPG going to really make?
  18. When ever the twinforce comes around, they will be functional
  19. Mustang, Focus, F-150 and Explorer all had huge hits in sales. The Taurus is still stuck in low drive, but the Taurus X seems to be doing pretty well. The Edge and MKX/Escape and Mariner are bright spots. the Ranger had nearly 43% less sales then last year! ugh... Anyways, good news is that the Focus has an all new model coming out this month...and we have a new F-150 coming in the next year or so. Other then that I'm not sure
  20. Was trying to avoid the DCMA Plus this place is so focused on negatives...I figured I'd post that :D
  21. http://autos.msn.com/advice/CRArt.aspx?contentid=4024673 Unimpressive: MOST DISAPPOINTING Dodge Caliber/Jeep Compass These new wagon-like models scored worse in our testing than the Chrysler PT Cruiser, which hasn't been redesigned in five years. They share a platform, engine, and transmission, as well as multiple faults. Both have sluggish acceleration, lots of engine and road noise, and hampered visibility. Their poorly finished interiors reflect an unfortunate trend we've seen in other recent Chrysler vehicles. Toyota Yaris The Yaris offers excellent fuel economy and reliability. But the good news ends there. Emergency handling is sloppy, there's a lot of noise, the driving position is uncomfortable, and stops are very long without the optional (but hard to find) antilock brakes. Dodge Nitro Based on the Jeep Liberty, the bold, distinctive styling of this SUV will undoubtedly win over some buyers. But with vague steering, ungainly handling, unsettled ride, limited visibility, and a cheap-looking interior, the Nitro falls short of the Liberty. Both lack the refinement of most carbased SUVs. Chrysler Sebring While improved somewhat over the old Sebring, the all-new version still trails the competition. Conspiring against it are noisy engines, unimpressive braking and handling, uncomfortable seats, a cheap-looking interior, and only adequate performance and fuel economy. Ouch for Chrysler...all complaints about cheap interiors...
  22. The only thing that failed was the driver falling asleep at the wheel :boring: ...wonder what is going to happen to his job
  23. For everyone complaining about trade exports, look at the financial field in the US...they do huge amount of business internationally and there isn't a "hard product" like a car or CD player that counts towards the trade balance, also look at Microsoft..they sell software, and often that software is just a piece of paper with a license on it...same thing applies.
  24. Oops! boy the police report must have been fun to fill out...how do you put down a car not in production?
  25. Is there any more facts about the 2.5L I4? I've heard several different stories about it and they seem to contract dictic any logic, such as its a Ford design since they didn't like the reliability of the Mazda design..specifically in TF applications. I'd like to see 185 HP with good MPG out of it
